Anyone played Wanderer yet?
>>370539232
No. What is it about? Sounds interesting.

Escape room style VR game that released a few days ago. Don't have the money for it atm but it looks pretty fun from what I've seen.
Launch trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03kt8DSUYE4
>>370539427
I'm guessing it has multiplayer right?
I could add it to the OP game list if enough people are interested to play.
>>370539970
Nah it's a single player game afaik. No idea if they want to add it or if it will get a mod, single player VR stuff like this is just neat imo and shouldn't be buried.

Speaking of vr puzzle games, has anyone played The Room VR: A Dark Matter?

Loved the previous Room games but not sure if the price is worth it for 4 hours of gameplay.
if you have a good computer and any joystick and you arent a retard go buy space engine right fucking now
>>370544648
I played this on Desktop about a decade ago and had a deep sense of dread when I entered the space between galaxies. I imagine VR makes that even more intense.
Hey guys, is there some sort of chatting service I can use in VR where I can be the anime girl?
>>370545167
hmmmmm
>>370544802
have you tried playing subnautica in VR and going into the open ocean where the ground drops off and theres nothing there but the possibility of a giant lurking alien sea monster

>>370545167
You can try ChilloutVR or NeosVR, but they never took off. Is sad that there isn't a bigger competitor on the market that people actually use
>>370539202
I would be down anon
>>370538834 (OP)
I have a joystick but not a full hotas set, if I combo it with a keyboard would it still be a good option for flight games or should I just stick to a regular controller?
>>370547301
I mean all "new" social media will always have that problem. The reason people use social media is because there are other people on it, which means everyone will just use the biggest social media in an endless loop of acquiring users because you have the most users.
Is there a VR game where I can be an anime girl while I drink liquor and play strip pool and do other drinking games like truth or dare with my friends (also anime girls)?

>>370554908
Yeah. There is a lot of latency and lag. Is it because my internet isn't good enough or is it the internal router in my pc that is to old?
I do have a link cable but im trying to play without a cable.

Play Synth Riders!
Tried out Zenith and at the moment the world doesn't seem interesting enough to explore as of yet. Once they expand it with shops and other things it might we worth looking into it again, but for now I refunded it.
Not sure when it started being acceptable to release unfinished games.
>>370552819
Have you tried validating your game files? I had the same thing happen to me before and steam was to blame. In the end I had to reinstall steam itself.
>>370557486
Yeah half-life alyx works fine and smooth. I guess Xplane is just really hard on my cpu
>>370559410
>Not sure when it started being acceptable to release unfinished games.
About a decade ago.
>>370559410
Yeah the game is very rough. I'm having ok fun but that is mostly the social aspect and talking with people while exploring. However the voicechat cuts off at times which is annoying.
Probably coming back to it in a month or so.

No. There won't be proper VR game discussion on /vg/ until a game that comes out that people are so enthusiastic about that it completely drowns out the schizos.
What's a vr game or feature that you'd love to see get released?
For me it'd be a medical themed game with interactive body horror. Either that or more story based games.
>>370545167
Unfortunately there is not. That's a pretty good idea, but nobody has successfully implemented it yet.

Room VR is not worth it. It's fine, but it's very short and the other titles in the series are much better.

>>370569513
Welcome to mmorpg.
How easy is it to learn how to set up a ripped custom pavlov map? Being able to play my favourite maps in VR sounds fun.
>>370569513
Zenith is more of an MMORPG in VR instead of a VRMMORPG. On top of the generic quests you expect from MMOs there are a few that require climbing or gliding to complete but otherwise it's very conventional. For example one requires you to climb around a floating orb, switch some levers and then press a button on top.
The VR mechanics are limited to climbing, gliding, the gesture based combat and a cooking minigame. It doesn't hold a candle to singleplayer VRRPGs. Even Township tale does a better job of making VR feel like a core part of the experience but where TT fails to feel like a MMO, Zenith does a better job. Zenith feels busy as you'll often see people doing quests, gathering for world events or gliding past you and comparing traditional levels/stats is easier than tools in TT.
I've enjoyed playing it with friends so far but my expectations tanked just before launch and I still have my doubts about long term interest in the game.
>>370574802
eah I think what a lot of VR developers are getting wrong is that they aren't suppose to make a flatscreen game that work with VR but to implement the actual mobility of VR into their game.
Sure they have the magic spell casting system but I think it's way to simple and should be developed on some more and make us write out long complicated spells to give us crazy buffs.
Anyone tried and found good MP VTOL VR missions?
>>370577026
VR is reminiscent of 3D games in the 90s when no-one knew the best solutions for controls. Only there's far more variables so it will take much longer to solve.
Best singleplayer game with replay value?
>>370581858

>>370581903
I don't think I can handle modding skyrim again. But you're probably in the top like 3 with that suggestion lol.
>>370581903
does anyone know if it works with hp reverb without controller fuckery?
>>370582336
Reverb's controller fuckery isn't really game dependent, unless you're just not using the controllers like in driving sims.
Is there a VTOL of car games?
>>370583285
Uhhh, Euro/American Truck Simulator?
>>370584578
in what world does that make sense
>>370583091
I've read that in some games key bindings are either fucked or non existent. Would make sense since skyrim vr came out wave before reverb g2.
Would be nice if the rest areas had item permanence so you could retain 1.0's ability to set up resupply areas for yourself without completely removing the tide mechanic. Otherwise a secure container in these places that can hold some items like in the backpack.
>>370591778
What game?
>>370591956
Into the Radius
>>370591956
Into the Radius.
For the three take and hold players I recommend these. Though sometimes on the R6 character I'll buy and get no gun. I don't know what causes this.
>>370591778
All they had to do was fix their optimization fuck up when they were trying to fix grenade throws back in 1.0, but nooooo they had to completely change the game and feeling because muh map sizes.
There's no point in making bases and little resupply spots anymore since the base is basically within 5 feet at all times due to the plethora of transition points and small ass maps.
>>370592636
>>370591778
I was about to suggest it in their discord server, but apparently any item the player grabs becomes persistent anyway. I should probably stop throwing empty ammo boxes on the floor.

People still playing Zenith?
I'm stuck in the same pitfall I'm in when I play any MMO in that my playschedule doesn't align with anyone else so I'm basically playing a very boring single player game
swords of gurrah? rn?
>>370605137
>I'm basically playing a very boring single player game
This happens to me all the time and is why I'm choosing to pass on Zenith.
>>370606237
Yeah, this is basically my MMO experience, the beginning levels where everyone are teh same or similar levels are great, but then I out-pace or fall behind everyone and nobody is on the same quest line. There really should be ways to fix that.
>>370605137
When do you play? I might be really boring to talk if we do
>>370605137
>>370606237
I've never played an MMO with another person so I've never understood the appeal. Are they actually good if you do that?
>>370607237
USEastern time after work so maybe 9-12 or 6-10
>>370607284
This is how you're supposed to play them. You're supposed to go through quests with other people so you can divide the workload and talk to each other to keep each other company while you do so. It's just modern quest chains are poorly designed so it always results in one or the other being left behind and the other not getting any benefit for staying with them
UUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
IT NEVER ENDS
>>370607284
The bulk of my fondest online memories are from MMOs. I still talk to the friends I made back then. Zenith doesn't appear to have a party queue or any anti-socializing feature like that, so perhaps the ability to organically mingle is there.
>>370608031
I can do but I am going to buy it tonight
>>370608281
I sometimes wonder how I managed to spend over 2 decades on the internet without making a single friend.
>>370608283
Okay, I can play any of the other classes in my lineup because all of them are lv1 right now.
>>370608520
In your defense it got a LOT harder after everybody got good internet and smartphones and that's been more than half the time you've been online at this point.
>>370609065

>>370609065
In that case almost all of the time I've spent online was after smartphones because I couldn't afford my own computer until 2008, and before that I was reliant on the family computer for about 1 hour per day.
>>370610159
Take comfort in that VR is very similar to the 2000s internet. Most people you will meet are more like you than the people who will come after Meta opens the floodgates.

Bros, I had a dream where I played Titanfall 2 in VR. Super smooth movement with calling your mechbro and seeing it come down and all that. The tears won't stop.
>>370611739
I think we've got a few years before the normalfags truly show up en masse. Anything other than lightweight AR glasses to do 7 former smartphone tasks at once on floating windows isn't going to interest them.
can someone post the PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE video? I lost the link and I need it to scare a friend away from getting his headset
>>370612526
that's good, I could get a quest 2 next month, but I'd rather get an index. The wait is killing me though, feels like I'm missing out
>>370612794
I'd say nothing significant has changed since 2017. There's a few more games and multiplayer is more populated, but nothing inherently different.
>>370612794
>but I'd rather get an index
why?
>>370613172
yay! I love getting into things when they're relatively new. don't you think the arrival of new VR headsets is gonna change that pretty rapidly though?
I just want Blade and Sorcery MP bros
>>370613473
I just feel like if I'm getting into VR, I should probably buy the most quality stuff, instead of buying the quest 2 and upgrading later anyway
>>370613665
you dont upgrade from quest 2 to index, you upgrade (some consider skdegrade) from index to quest 2. its the best wireless pcvr
>>370613795
oh, I thought the index was considered the best for a while now
>>370614049
not since quest 2 release, best wired vs best wireless, even with a lower fov q2 has better resolution
>>370614162
oh I see, thank you! I might get the quest 2 instead then, it's a lot cheaper too..
>>370614348
thats why a lot of us consider it better, even at the same price point its competitive
the index selling point is you dont need to use your own headphones for quality audio and the meme gimmick finger tracking, it also works better with light house FBT solutions
>>370578462
I feel like Valve was the most on top of this, item interaction in Alyx is still top tier- small objects aren't a cancerous aim-the-laser wigglefest like B&S ends up being, and you feel in control almost all the time, unless theres a pile of shit
Boneworks-tier physics honestly feels like a must, or at minimum B&S style weapon physics- weightless weapons stuck to your controller feel outdated and floaty, having some artificial mass really helps
I really want an MMO or at least coop dungeon crawler/fantasy game with an in-depth magic system like Orbus had, where you actually paint the symbols in the air with a pen or whatever in order to cast, it models the ideas of fizzling and concentration really well by making it tangible
so much shit is already on the table and getting someone with enough money, motivation, and brains to put it together is the hard part desu
>>370614479
finger tracking seems pretty cool, but yeah it isn't worth the extra price for it. I think FBT is something when I get more VR playtime, it seems pretty advanced. are you personally using a quest 2?
>>370615341
quest 2 technically has better finger tracking with actual finger tracking in the cameras but VRC doesnt support it just like they dont fully support touch controller capacitive sensors, otherwise the touch controllers would be 80% of the index ones in vrc

What can you push further in terms of fidelity/latency? A really good link cable or a top end wifi 6 router for virtual desktop? I thought wired link would be a slamdunk but I've had more problems with it than virtual desktop. My virtual desktop bitrate caps out at 138mpbs on my 802.11ac router, so I was wondering how I can max this shit out before I drop the cash on a solution. I've done all the optimisations for wifi as well, it just seems like the bitrate is still too low. It's fine for things like Pavlov where the maps are often simple in detail, but trying to play AAA VR games it makes everything past 5m look like soup.

I've played all 3 mages and tank mage is the best. I prefer the aggressive teleport, you do decent damage once ramped up, heal yourself a ton while attacking the enemy, can easily tank multiple enemies at once, have some low cost spells and look cool enough that everyone points it out.
>>370614348
Quest 2 is serviceable if all you're interested in is playing games for a couple hours each day.
If you want to actually hang out with others in virtual reality, I highly recommend getting an Index.

>>370544648
it’s honestly too scary
It’s been like 9 years since I played it
After The Fall could be a lot better. It's l4d VR, but that's all it is. It doesn't really do anything that a game couldn't do outside of VR and I've realized that's a big problem with developers. They don't know what to do with the tech and are still in the "popular game, but vr" phase. Still a fun game though. Simple improvement would be at least one enemy type that takes advantage of vr and tosses a bomb at you which can be grabbed and tossed back.
>>370626248
How is Zenith? My friend is hyped for it, but visually looks pretty uninspired to me.
A vr game I'd like to see would be a a wizard/fantasy wave clear game that takes proper advantage of VR. draw ice walls to funnel enemies, telegrab projectiles, a heavy emphasis on crowd control and environmental startgeies rather than "guns... but ice, fire and zap themed". Make me actaully toss the fireball. Summon giant stone hands and they follow what your hands do, or a limited giant transformation spell. Magical items that are purposefully weird and funky to operate, a puzzle box bomb, a set of giant magical scissors, ride a war lizard using reigns and some incentive system that reward constantly using diffrent spells.
Is blade and sorcery worth 20?
Its either that or buying skyrim vr for me. But can you mod skyrim vrs combat to be more physical feeling

Lostmagic did this on the DS and multiplayer was broken as fuck

>>370639334
Visually it looks like shit. It's been hamstrung for the quest and it shows. You get one race: human. Men and women look almost the same in the game, and the customization sucks.
BUT That's not real selling point of the game. The selling point is the combat, being able to swing/parry and cast spells by gesturing. Using your real swords or your real guns to shoot things and throw fire/lightning with your hands in an MMO.
Honestly, it does a good job on that front. My biggest complaint right now is that there are some parts of it that are unintuitive as fuck and if you click the "?" for the help menu, you're helpfully given a screen of nothing. It's Early access on that regard and it shows. Be prepared to ask other players on wtf to do and how the fuck you're supposed to do some thing s that are as easy as clicking a button or an icon in any other MMO.
My favorite is recipes where you have to open your inventory and physically grab the item with your hand from it and eat the recipe. Which lets be fair, that's neat, but how the fuck was I supposed to know that I have to eat the book someone just gave me?
I want to upgrade from vive dildos what is a good option that isn't index
Losing progress in games isn't an issue anymore anyway, since we got cloud backup now. I can't say how fast your storage will run out if you use the 128 and only run standalone titles, since I'm focusing more on getting accessories than games atm.
If you're just gonna connect it to PC, get the 128 or even a refurbished 64. They all perform the same. Only storage space differs.
>>370640190
Blade & Sorcery is more of an arena sandbox, it has a dungeon now though which is pretty good but it's short and once you've run through it you're pretty much done. It is linear but also procedurally generated. Combat is B&S strong point, all weapons feel satisfying to use and there's plenty of mods for it too.
Skyrim VR is more of a game ofcourse so if that's what you're looking for go for it. Haven't really played Skyrim VR but I can't see the combat being better than B&S. Sure you can get it pretty good though if you mod the shit out of it.
Just pirate B&S for now I'd say and get Skyrim while it's on sale.

Theres etee controllers but I have no idea how the mapping of XYAB buttons is done on them so I didn't kickstart on them. A bit expensive just to try them out.

Then there are Pimax Sword controllers that are totally going to ship this year. They seem to be just fancy Vive dildos in the end.
https://pimax.com/product/sword-controllers/
To be honest I'd just want Oculus Touch ripoff controllers. Tehcnically nothing prevents someone from writing a driver that took two trackers taped onto Quest controllers and exported button inputs over wifi using modified ALVR but I haven't seen anybody working on that.

So, zenith is really interesting.
Right now it is what I would consider barebones in a mmo.
- sidequests are mostly kill x or collect y
- main story quests are usually go to x and scout
I am mostly annoyed about the user interface. I keep triggering spells left and right while climbing, going through my inventory or clicking through menus. I also have seen that they had a kickstarter a couple of years back? Seems like they actually do have a sort of road map. Would love if this road map would be more visible for the non-backers.
Cooking is a lot of fun and I can hope that at some point the good old crafting for weapons and armor will come to this game as well. I hope it has similar mechanics to make stuff more engaging.
Also, I haven't seen and resemblance of player economy so far. No player to player selling, no auction houses etc. On the other side, there is not much to sell right now.
I really hope they add content in form of qol features (that server list needs serious cleaning up!) And additional vr centric gameplay.
I heard they are adding new side missions, but who the fuck cares about those right now?

what software should i use to mod skyrim vr?
i heard vortex will fuck my shit up (in what way?)?
I also feel like everytime I mod skyrim, I always fucked up my save file. How do I prevent that.
Blade&Sorcery still has to be my favourite VR game so far. I just wish the AI had more than 4 attacks, but even then firing up the sabreur wave and having a kino string of 20 sabre duels is so much fun.
If you get B&S, get Sectory and Medieval Mega Pack mods for it; thank me later.Maybe Sectory isn't the new hotness anymore though, I don't know.

I tried it but it seemed like i could get better stuff in boneworks except for magic and sword fights but its easy to past the ai defense
>>370659793
You could do better stuff in Boneworks except for the stuff that defines B&S? Curious

Yeah but it didn't seem that great. Like just a fire ball and the enemies try and block. I mean boneworks just has zombies but if I want to feel like a psychopath I just spawn the clones
WHAT'S THE FUCKING GESTURE FOR THE FREEZEFRAME PISTOL ON THE "I DON'T WANT TO BE HORNY ANYMORE" AVATAR

Radiusbros, how do you set up your inventory? Originally I had:
>left arm = probes
>right arm = knife
>left chest = detector
>right chest = lamp
but I switched to:
>left arm = machette
>right arm = knife
>left chest = probes
>right chest = lamp
after realizing the detector is fine in the backpack and melee weapons are easily lost or broken so it's better to have two accessible. I would put a knife on the chest and probes on the arm, but that's not allowed.
>>370666343
headlamp stays on with helmet I think, so you could either leave the lamp or put it in your storage pouch if you need it
>>370666476
I think the lamp is more useful than the detector in that slot.

can we use this games mechanics to port Rust?
How about a server that host 18+ players?
>>370668973
No because ItR was made exclusively for VR, while any flat game can only have limited VR interactivity modded into it. The complexity of physics that are acceptable in a single player game are also completely unacceptable for networking in a multiplayer game.

I'm trying to set up dynamic bone colliders in Unity but the capsule isn't visible unless I make it about a meter and a half tall which way too big. It just shows the center sphere. How can I make this not the case because it's difficult to see what they are doing when I move when it doesn't show me.
>>370672992
In fact, I don't think it's just that they don't show I think they literally aren't capsules unless I make them sufficiently large.

It my most played VR game outside of VRChat for me. There is simply too much in the way of good player made content and mods to customize the experience for me to put it down over a lot of teeny two hour long VR "experiences". VR is the best way to play Skyrim too tbqh.

Raw data is a wave shooter, not the best vr game but it's fun enough with a friend on Hard difficulty. I want to try the pvp mode one of these days, because there aren't many good arcade shooters

I'm thinking more as a coop game vs hordes of ai. Maybe each person chooses an element. I think if spells are insanely broken do to people who are going to cheese everything, you introduce an absurdly hard mode for that crowd. I'm thinking of it as basically L4D+DND VR but actaully taking advantage of VR. You could have some cool shit like specials that require two casters, a single use item could be a giant creature potions. For a short time you grow, you can pick up other players to keep them safe, swat away enemies, place your ally on a vantage point. Maybe a dragon potion where each of you arms become heads or wings, become a something to put variation in controls. Maybe a mind control spell where you literally puppet master a large enemy with dangly puppet string. Make it wacky and only possible in VR. Maybe you go full DND and introduce classes. But I think big wacky crowd control is key or else it just become l4d with vr shooting and swords, granted that would also be fun if done well.
>>370640706
Tbh sounds kind of dead 3 months after arrival like most VR games because the bar for quality is so low in VR. You can release a sloppy beta and charge 40 dollars because it's VR and the VR community starved of games just laps it up. I wanna be wrong.
>>370704154
Yeah ok
It's insane to me how Zenith is having such an overall positive reception. I understand people are desperate for more VR games, especially something as immersive as an MMO but this game is insanely trash. It's asset flip tier. I'm aware the graphics need to be really low end for the Quest but that doesn't mean you need to have default engine fonts and menus everywhere. Your models may need to be low poly but that doesn't mean they can't even blink. You don't need high resource graphics to have a good art direction. This is just soulless store assets thrown into a map with some barely functional MMO combat. The only good thing the game has going for is that it's surprisingly stable and good performance. Still going to be dead in a week though.
>it's early access they'll fix it!
'Fixing' it is going to require literal years of full time development just to reach the point of 6/10 it's okay nothing special. It's not going to happen.
>>370666343
In 2.0 knives do such little damage I only carry one as a fork. I've been dumping items in safehouses for resupplies so there's not really any reason to carry one at all when the safehouses have a decent meal in them.
>>370710197
Agree. It must be an army of discord trannies shilling it idk.
Anyone here play vrchat?
Orbus > Z*nith
>>370710197
MMO desperation. VR game desperation. The two haven't truly been combined before. Orbus was never large and it's long since dead. Township Tale does VR interaction much better but it's small scale and fails to provide a reason to progress. Zenith actually feels like an MMO, a generic asset flip MMO but an MMO nonetheless.
>>370710197
I think it's a pretty solid VR newfag title. Has lots of comfy stuff and is packaged pretty smoothly and even questlets can play. But if you experienced all those mechanics in VRchat and alyx and other games, it's pretty bland. If they keep updating it I cold see it being around for a long time just with the recroom demographic. tldr; I don't think we (sweaty vr enthusiasts) are the target audience.
>>370710747
I think knives should have more durability, at least.
>>370712531
No, but you can play Contractors or Swords of Gurrah with us every Friday!
I really wanna like into the radius but everything being bright white and gray and enemies being vague gray/black silhouettes physically hurts my eyes. The whole game is like built to strain your eyes. Can I get a mod that just makes the game not COD colored and makes enemies not a vague solid color shape? It didn't bother me in super hot because that game is built for quick plays, but radius wants you to really plod and take your time. Also I want to just disable the guns having a safety switch. The amount of time I roll my eyes from not shooting. I like a lot obout the game, but there a lot of elements that feel tedious and chore like. Find myself more irritated than immersed. It stopped being horror to me and started being "uuuuugh great I get to be annoyed by the squiggly things again" or "yaaay I get to hand pick up 20 bullets" oh boy can't wait to try and clean my gun while the barrel cleaning thing just doesn't want to occur"
>>370546621

>>370711090

>>370715590
It's meant to be an autism game for people who want to spend half their time managing their inventory and stash in various ways.
>barrel cleaning thing just doesn't want to occur
I have no problem with that, but using the spray and brush is borderline impossible. That is one of the things I just skip by using the repair cabinet because it simply doesn't work as intended. I wonder if it's something to do with which headset and controllers you're using.
So is Zenith worth getting right now while the hype is still relatively alive for fuller servers or should I just wait for the inevitable sale but decline in population?
Looks like it should be a free to play game but I'm worried if it's one of those needs-a-big-population-to-survive type of games.
>>370717214
they went too hardcore at the beginning, player made magic schools in towns were super comfy though
>>370719129
Get it now while there are still people playing it. What makes it interesting is the social interaction you get that can't be experienced in another media. If you are just there for the MMORPG experience than stay away as it's a half assed assetflip.
>>370719129
might be dead by the time sale comes around
>>370715590
I use reshade with the game to make things less blurry and boost the colors. You could give that a shot.
>>370719129
Worth it now? Hard to say. Combat is okay, just not exciting. Customization is crap. Interface is crap. Cooking is stupid. At least the item crafting isn't predatory yet.
If you're on your own you might get bored. If you bring or make friends you might have a much better time.
>>370719129
I think it would be a long wait for the game to be worth recommending on it's own merits. The reason to play right now is to experience the busy activity that comes with the MMO launch rush.
>accept factory mission
>presume there won't be many armored enemies
>take shotgun with slugs
>almost every enemy has armor
>get rushed by three commandos who kill me instantly
This game doesn't fuck around with the difficulty curve, huh.
>controllers fly around like crazy in Pavlov

>>370730051
Index with 3 base stations.
>>370731245
Figure your playspace out instead of adding extra stations, it should work flawlessly on two stations unless your room is a really bad case scenario. Make sure controllers can receive signal from any angle, make sure you have no reflective surfaces in the room, make sure your stations don't budge even a milimeter off the original position you've mounted them in, then re-run room setup just to be double sure. Also, in index controllers/vive pucks radio interference can sometimes look kinda like device is losing tracking, so also keep this aspect in mind. You can redo pairing, or even remove all usb devices in steamvr developer menu, this stuff helped me when i had bad radio situation around me (two headsets + 4 controllers + 6 pucks in the same room).

It really doesn't. Though if it makes you feel bettershotgun slugs have 100% armour penetration, the best in the game.Grab any of the larger capacity shotguns and enjoy your run and gun. SWAT Val mimics are insane though. Better not to fuck around with them. Dragunov to the face is highly suggested.
>>370711817
In 1.0 they'd oneshot the transparent fragments and almost always disable the hard fragments. With a full second cooldown on attacks and lower damage, you either double knife and headshot or don't bother. Throwing too seems to be harder in 2.0 even though the arc is the same. In 1.0 it would flip the knife over and you'd throw from the tip which somehow was easier to aim. Only use it gets outside of being a fork is to stab stunned spider spawns when I don't already have my gun out. Meanwhile in 1.0 I'd carry 6+ knives on me and use them on every fragment and spawn I saw, saving ammo for mimics and sliders. It's a shame and I really hope they bring knives back to their original state - damage and throwing style. Also hope they make the player's gunshot sounds louder too. No idea why those are so whisper quiet.
>>370780704
Turn on the virtual stock in the options. It might feel a big weird at first but You'll get used it it. As for very long range it's just very difficult unless you have one of those real stocks since you have nothing to brace on.

9mm +P is not very expensive at all, especially when you consider the damage and pen it has. The MP5 has one of the largest magazines, is light, is quiet, is very accurate when upgraded, and deals as much/more damage than the integrally-suppressed 9x39 guns and shotguns.
>>370783716
no but also yes, pay 4 bux for premium or click 666 mods linls in a row i didnt pay the 5 dollars i shouldve follow google doc instructions slowly and methodically and it just fucking works then you can remove shit you hate slowly

Is there just a small list I need so I can just play as a lusty argonian maid
So are we gonna make a Zenith guild or what?
I really don't want this general to die. I need a thread for actual VR enthusiasts instead of the Trannies, faggots, and groomers that infest the normal thread.
>>370797792
I want what you want but I also don't want to play zenith so I wish this general the best.
>>370797893
Then what do you want to play?
>>370797792
I've been playing with a bunch of people on the Aether shard. I know a bunch of people are playing on an EU shard though
>>370800268
That's nice and all but we need a guild.
Let's start to seriouslly organize a guild. I think it would be a lot of fun. Also I hate niggers.
>>370797792
So a discord?
>>370800464
Fuck no Discord fucking sucks and attracts faggots/trannies like flies to shit.
Why can't we just make a normal guild?
>>370800464
Absolutely not
>>370800612
Maybe we could make a mumble if we want to keep in contact outside Zenith.
But Discord is cancer.
>>370780704
do t-rex arms and brace your elbows against your ribs
(i'm serious)
>>370800904
vent, mumble, teamspeak, and skype destroyed MMOs
they're most fun when a majority of communication is done in-game and in-game only
>>370780704
I loved using a 3d printed stock. Mine was designed in a way so that front hand is detached, but front controller holds on very well in its place once you squeeze it a tiny little bit against the stock. It didn't really make me any better performance-wise because i'm dying mostly to bad choices, not bad aim, but i just loved the overall feel of 'having something in hands' - and, of course, the difference in stability for longer distance shooting was pretty significant. Comes with drawbacks in terms of mobility/overall speed, also might feel tryhard if you're doing it solely in order to improve performance, but i wish it would be more common and widely accepted because it just really, really feels right.
I should print a new one for index, the previous one i used was for CV1
>>370780704
Play more. Anything else is a crutch that ultimately makes you worse.
>>370802568
what kind did you print? I've enjoyed using a physical stock too despite games not really being friendly toward stocks that aren't quickly adjustable outside of a few where you generally have the same rifle for an entire match/game. currently mine is just printed parts on a rod but I have a mostly finished adjustable stock I want to modify to work with shotguns, rifles, and shorter weapons too.
Zenith isn't a very polished game, but its strangely addicting
>>370802818
I made my own one. It wasn't adjustable, i measured it for myself/my own comfort. It was roughly as long as some kind of a short SMG, but it worked well for just about anything from UMP to G3.
More on-the-fly adjustability would be a nice general idea to follow when designing those.
>>370781058
I was using a sawn off which was clearly a terrible weapon choice with that number of enemies. I'm not buying weapons or magazines from the shop, and I haven't even found a full length shotgun this time.
>>370803350
There's a pump action shotgun stash around thequarry.Otherwise silver crates will get you a long double barrel quite often.
>>370804039
>silver crates
Yeah, I got two Tokarevs, one magazine, and two sawn offs. I think I may have opened more than four as well, so I might have had a Makarov or even no weapon in one of them.
>>370804567
quality of a crate's loot depends on three things:
color of crate
your security level
the "level" of the zone it's in
So a white crate in Kolhoz or Castle on the max security level is going to have the best loot.
But there's a hand-placed stash for almost every gun, so read the notes you pickup and pay attention. Crate loot is a meme.

Is there a Skyrim mod that lets you pull potions out from a pouch? I like the FO4VR mod that lets you pull stimpacks out of a pouch and stab yourself with them. VRIK's holsters tragically only let you holster weapons.
>>370791380
No SkyrimVR wabbajack has booba. Do yourself a favor and install Nemesis, XP32, CBPC, and CBBB manually and run bodyslide to make everyone as thicc as you want. Then start adding in some slutwear armor mods.

It's for the best. Just look at the rubes who paid for New World. Wait to see if they actually implement player made content and better models as they've claimed they will.

I'm only buying into an MMO if the thread is absolutely flooded by discussion. Anything less than that and it's going to be dead very soon.
I want to play Doom in VR. Like the old one with .wads, not just Doom VFR. I've seen a couple of versions of it in .webms, but don't know what the actual launcher/game is. What's the go-to for that?
>>370840403
https://github.com/hh79/gzdoomvr
It's up to date with flat gzdoom too so everything should work with it. Make sure to get the laser pointer mod and enable it within the controls settings. It took some messing around to get it to work well with the Index controllers but works handily once you do. Vulkan doesn't work with VR mode though, so you are stuck with openGL.

It's also a term with extremely profitable connotations. Is a couple of sobbing journos and the image of a fat neckbeard clutching a sonic toy really that powerful?

Yeah none of the maps are balanced. They all have some problem, even the ones I like.
>Cross no man's land to even reach the site

Damn mobileposting donked up the name. It's Virtua Sonic akin to Virtua Fighter. And, yes. I created this as a test of a theory I had regarding motion sickness and virtual locomotion. The basic thought process is as follows:
>People get motion sick because their brain sees motion, but the body doesn't feel motion.
>What if they had to pump their arms to run? Then the brain sees motion while performing an action that it's already associated with the act of moving forward.
>Brain has no problems now.
To test my hypothesis, I created Virtua Sonic to take the idea to its logical extreme. If players can handle corkscrews and loops in VR using my motion method, then I must be onto something.

>>370861484
>I worked hard on it and it got no coverage.
i watched your very early webms back when you were still making it and i thought that after you finished and released it you did get some coverage?
anyway once again very nice job anon, i do hope you get some good stuff out of it because it does look nice
>>370863006
Nice, thank you anon. I know that motionsicklets love arm swinging in H3VR, Sprint Vector, and any game via Natural Locomotion. It only makes sense that it'd work for first person sonic.
>>370863309
I got very little coverage. I was hoping that all of the major VRtubers would play it, but NimsoNy had already made a shoddy Sonic VR concept a year before mine, so there went that novelty even though I took the concept much further. No hate on NimsoNy though. He does good work.
Are there any other FPSs with active communities other than Pavlov? Like something where I'll be finding full games. Pavlov is fun but people are a bit spongy for my tastes.

>>370863006
In regards to motion sickness there are a couple of things that help it:
>stable frame of reference
The inside of a cockpit for example like VTOLVR
>limiting FOV
Vignetting is the most obnoxious and horrible way to do this. Speed lines and the edges of a helmet are a better way to do it.
>Physical movement
Has to be paired well. In my experience it's just moving around your playspace, not movement in general. The game shattered lights has a setting to multiply your movement speed as it's room scale only and needs like a 3x3 space. You can multiply your speed to the point where moving 1m moves you 2m to double the effective distance you can travel. Takes a little bit of getting used to but initially can make you really dizzy while your body learns the new ratio of input to output.
>Virtual body movement
In vrchat seeing your body move and bounce up and down, even if that doesn't change your pov like a headbob, is a bit easier for your brain to correlate to walking as opposed to when you turn off the walking animation and just slide.
>Virtual nose
I have no idea how this works but it does. Vox has one too. Might be considered FOV limiting? Very minor and your brain does automatically filter it but somehow helps with motion sickness.
>No delay between head movement and screen space objects moving
UI that jitters or slowly swings into place but still follows the head makes motion sickness worse though this could just be the disorientation factor and the slow swaying motions that are often associated with motion sickness. Head mounted UI in general I don't really like, I'd rather it be on a wrist or pocket book solely for immersion reasons.
>>370867423

Spawn camping actually killed NA lobbies. I don't know if they fixed it, but there used to be so few routes out of spawn on the data upload mode that 1 or 2 players could just kill the entire enemy team over and over before they could leave the spawn area properly, and killing the spawn campers wasted so much time that the point would already be lost.

WiFi 5 is fine what is important is the signal strength. If it's in the same room you should be fine, if it's not it's gonna depend on how much your ISP cheaped out on the router. It doesn't cost anything to try it though so you may as well give it a shot.
>>370898358
Zenith I guess. You'll find a lot of social people.
>>370898358
VRchat is the best one. One can argue it's the best representation of an endgame VRMMORPG
>>370884991
what game is this? im new to vr
>>370899772
it's called "into the radius" and is basically a stalker VR port. I'm not the other poster but I think its one of the best single-player VR experiences available, if you're into that type of game.
>>370900217
Stop saying STALKER VR. It gives people the wrong impression then they go in expecting it's something it's not. It's one of my favourite VR games but the similarity doesn't extend much further than both being FPS and influenced by Roadside Picnic.

Can we put together a /vrgg/ must have list for 2022?
I'll start;
>After the fall
>Vtol VR
>>370902123
I don't know if ATF is still a must, the game has lived its fotm lifespan and lobbies have died out now
Updates have been extremely bad, no new content, still frequent bugs that make all your progress void
Unless you actually have a full group of people to play with, I wouldn't recommend it to people anymore
To add to the list, I don't have it myself but I've been intrigued by the Beanstalker game that one anon keeps posting about
Zenith released a few days ago so I suppose this is in that fotm stage where you really want to play it in the first month before it eventually withers down too
Hitman VR came out too, but was also a scuffed port but some still seemed to enjoy it
Why is the VR improvements mod and community bindings all fucking awful?
>Try using someones premade bindings
>Random buttons rotate me despite them saying they're grenade or something else
>Try using the VR mods key rebinder
>Half of the time the rebinds don't fucking work
>Doesn't even support actions like crouching

>>370905236
>>370907787
in case you haven't figured out
>Random buttons rotate me despite them saying they're grenade or something else
is something we figured out long ago and is the reason why i made the public bindings to begin with, to save people from the hassle
i tried to look through my logs with someone that i discussed it with since back then we figured out which binding referred to turning left etc, but i couldn't find it anymore
so you tried one of the bindings that get recommended in the thread each time, right? and you're on index? but somehow it's still not working?
>>370912746
Not on index. Just no matter what bindings I try for my controllers they don't do what they claim to on the community page. Hell even trying to make my own is fucking impossible because the mod refuses to accept any changes I make in it's bindings. I am going fucking insane trying to fix this to the point of just saying fuck it and just continuing to play payday how I have for years.
>>370913161
oh okay that explains it, i don't think any of us run with anything other than the index
if i were you i'd do the following, though it would take a fair amount of time to get everything to how you want it
>choose any community binding advertised to work with whatever headset you're using
>open up a single player game where you can just wait outside without being targeted or whatever
>grab a pen and pencil and basically go down the list and see what does what until you have a completely functional keybind
>save it as a copy for your own use
start with figuring out how to move first, like 'Change Firing Mode' could be Turn Left, 'Grenade' could be Turn Right, etc
i only had to change: Turn left, Turn right, Sprint and Jump to have it usable, other stuff is more of a luxury I guess
Sorry I can't be more helpful than that
>>370913728
Yeah it's fine and I was more or less doing that the past several hours. Weird part is sometimes it binds a button to crouch (not with community bindings) but then it will also bind dash to that button too. I'm not sure if this is native Payday vr doing it or the mod as the mod lacks binding anything to crouchand like fuck do I want to spend a stealth missions having to physically crouch with bad knees, thanks geneticsand when trying to forcefully change dash to a different button it still keeps the crouch+dash combo and that's just some of the dumb shit it was doing. It is the most infuriating thing.
>>370914498
yeah i haven't touched anything related to dash or crouching at all because it tends to fuck things up
I also remember messing with one of the vr improvement options after I figured out how to get Sprint working, but i basically ended up doing more bad than good so i reverted to default settings, which I advise you to keep things at (other than like basic black screen and movement settings I guess?)
as for stealthing in VR, i know what you mean
I have this lounge couch kind of furniture that I bought to chill in VR with and it's a lower height than a regular chair so I found that sitting on that works to give me a crouch that doesn't get me detected that easily (the lower you crouch, the less likely they are to discover you) so if I gotta run or sprint i just stand up, if i gotta crouch fast i just drop onto the couch, and for real "oh shit" moments i get off the couch and pretty much squat with my ass almost on the floor
I hope you can work something out
>>370915153
Yeah I'll probably just keep slamming my head into it when it's not this late at night already. Sadly my chair doesn't drop me low enough despite being at its minimum height. Though I think I have an old ass broken PC chair that could go lower. Only reason I was wanting to use dash movement is because it made me not get wobbly irl.
>playing pavlov
>single populated server playing WW2 Push
>try to connect
>connection lost 5 times in a row
>every other server I try connects just fine
Is there some obvious reason I'm overlooking for why this might happen or is it a bug? I'm really new to pavlov so I'm not sure if it's some kind of modcheck or whitelist system.
>tfw when no valve index
>>370919780
What's stopping you?
>>370919780
The headset makes my dick tremble and I love the controllers, but I really fucking hate wires. I've yet to try a wire system that isn't restrictive in some way. If they release an index 2 with wireless I'd have no problem shelling out the money.

I checked their website and it didn't seem very private, but maybe there was some kind of event going on.
Zenith is actually pretty fun. I've been playing it for about 5 hours, but it doesn't seem like there's much in the game for an MMORPG.

Anyone know how to make a bowl of noodles in Zenith? I don't have the recipe, it's not in shop, and there's no active quest that gives it.
>>370927490
Just for noodles? I think it's after you finish the orange smoothie, you get a recipe for it in the shop
>>370927635
I did the orange smoothie quest I think, but it's not in the shop. Only Basic Noodle is there and I must have read that recipe 3 times to make sure.
I'm up to carrot smoothie with Brimm.
>>370927829
Then I don't know. I know there's a quest for paprika noodles after that, did you get that one?
>>370927979
I didn't. I'm starting to think I glitched my quests somehow.

What I had to do in order to get those noodles was keep baking regular noodles until it reached level 2. Which is about 5-6 sets of noodles.

I'm a bit disappointed in ATF's patch. I thought there would be something new to try out, but it's mostly new skins and adjusting each difficulty, and I'm not sure if I could feel the highered difficulty.
>>370936163

>>370936370
Depends which headset you're using. I heard there's a crashing problem for Quests users now.
I had no problems other than a huge lag in my last run.
For those playing Into the Radius, is there a way to adjust the grip angle of your firearm? Using a CV1, my hand practically has to point downwards to get a proper sight picture with a Makarov.
>>370936773
there should be an option in the settings menu for up/down-tilt, should be a slider in the gameplay or movement section

The only thing that appealed to me about zenith was the cooking. I figured I could be a bard and go exploring and hunting for exotic ingredients but that just isn't the case.
>>370937510
There was a plugin that let you change all coordinates of trackers, controllers, and even the headset itself that was used with Rift and Vive trackers to manually merge the playspace in early 2018. I don't remember what it was called but you could use that to just change the angle of controllers if anyone else remembers.
>>370938570
I liked the cooking in it, but even that was finicky to me. I do have high hopes for the game.
Is Walking Dead Saint and Sinners worth it at full price or should I wait for a sale?

Are there any good content or out of the box content packs for it? It seems fairly arcane to set up.
>>370975868
it does have a bit of a learning curve. there is some content categorized as "scenes" that are just download and play. you can get away with just using the ingame hub browser to download stuff you want. then learn how to select people and replace their appearances and you'll probably be fine.
>>370972570

Skyrim VR's combat is definitely not B&S tier, but some mods can bring it a long way. I love Spellsiphon+Conduit for some very strategic spellblade gameplay. You can imbue your weapons with an element by grabbing them with your offhand, and continue your spell combo by smacking dudes, throwing your weapon if you have Weapon Throw VR, and even use special weapon attacks with the trigger (As seen in the teleport strike at the end). Get stuff like Blade & Blunt, Deflection for proper shield-bashing+timed blocking staggers, Maximum Carnage for decent gore, and you can do surprisingly well. It's miles better than playing Skyrim flat tbqh.
>>370972431
Had a switch for a few days and half of what I've played has been pirated, let me summarize:
>PCVR
Very simple, install it like any other pirated game and then go into steamVR, open the desktop and launch it from there.
>Quest 2 native
This is a bit trickier. First you need to enable dev mode in the app (if you used the no facebook exploit it can be finicky) and then sideload .apk files. Now you can't use the regular sidequest method for sideloading because it detects something fishy and doesn't let you. But you can use adb, and sidequest has an option for running a raw adb command, which is what I used. The command is "adb install [PATH TO .APK]".
Now there is apparently a kill switch in the quest that can cause problems. According to it's devs, oculess can remove it. So if you're super worried do that. But I haven't had any issues and I imagine even if they do activate the kill switch you can probably just factory reset the thing and start over.

Is Oculessing the Quest 2 and using it that way hard? Been eyeing to get into VR but I don’t want to deal with Kikebook, my other option was the G2 since I’d be mostly siming anyways but I always hear the tracking is dogshit even on the 2nd gen and I’d still like to eventually play Alyx/ Pavlov and Blade & Sorcery.
Anyone use a PC controller with Quest 2 native? I've seen vague stuff that indicates the latest sony and microsoft controllers pair over bluetooth just fine but I'd like something more concrete before I go buy one (don't own anything newer than an x360).
I mainly want to use it for flat java minecraft which is really neat on quest 2 native but will probably try some emulators too.
Anyone got the Monster Girl Island VR builds? Dev's patreon is gone so you can't even get them the intended way anymore and finding one feels impossible.
>>370989964
I tried them a few years ago. One of the most garbage implementations of VR I've ever seen.
>>370989964
There's a fixed build on f95zone, including a Quest native version.
Welcome back racer!

Assetto - can be played with wheel, controller, or steam-vr-wheel addon, it doesn't matter, we will all have fun driving together. If you just bought Asseto - grab Assetto Corsa Content Manager - a better launcher: https://assettocorsa.club/content-manager.html and a mod installer (just drag and drop zip files from mega).
For communication we'll use mumble at voice.vrg.party port 64738.
You don't have to download the client, you can use webclient at https://voice.vrg.party/?address=voice.vrg.party/demo&port=443

I'm getting my first VR headset soon. Besides the obvious games like Alyx or Walking Dead, are there any good "beginner" friendly at a good price ? I saw a lot of people shill Gorn 1 and half years ago.
>>370994602
Blade and Sorcery has made Gorn largely redundant.
>>370994602
Those are the main ones. Less beginner friendly options worth the money would be Boneworks, Bean Stalker, and Into the Radius.
>>370994779
Thanks I'll wait for s B&S sale someday
>>370994835
I wanted to get Bonerworks but sadly it's not on sale. Didn't know about Bean Stalker though thanks for the recc. Into the Radius and Bonerworks both say it's for "experienced" users, does that mean I'll fumble around like a retard if I'm a new user ?
Also I saw there's a boxing game called Thrill of the Fight, seems like the thing simple enough to get started, is it worth playing or gets old quick ?
>>370994602
I've been really liking Pistol Whip lately, and it's pretty beginner friendly. I've found that despite being a shooting rhythm game on the surface, it's actually best seen as a (light) danmaku/bullet hell game with your head as the hitbox. Good leg workout.
Demeo is also on sale now and it finally has enough content that I can recommend it at the sale price.
>>370994602
Superhot is a good beginner game, if you have enough space to move around a bit. Doesn't need to be a lot, I think mine is about 2x2 meters.
>>370994602
beat saber obviously
>>370995301
>Thrill of the Fight,
it's a good shadow boxing simulator, but it's not very "gamey" so you kind of have to be motivated to shadow box in the first place to enjoy it. I ended up playing more of creed, which is less realistic but has a campaign and multiplayer.
>>370995301
They can take some getting used to due to the holsters and the physics. Bean Stalker is terrifying if you have a fear of heights. Thrill of the Fight is good though. It has great physics and can give you a real workout.
>>370994602
Zenith is pretty fun and VR noob friendly.
>>370996225
Beat saber is never on sale. zucc bought the studio anyway so you might as well pirate it. Better for not having custom songs and mods break every minor update too.
Is the tracking in Into the Radius janky for everyone or is it just me? I constantly have moments where the ingame actions don't follow along with my own, like my hands are about three inches apart even when my controllers are touching or I just can't lower my hands further than my belly button when I'm holding an item
>>370996662
Adjust height and arm length in options
>>370996617
>Bought Beat Saber and have a few hours in it
>Still racking up hundreds of hours in my pirate copy despite owning it
Your advice is too good. If you want your mods not to break all the time pirates win out with BS.
>After the Fall chinese skins are another 1000 kill grind
>>370997349
>Turn on hacks including auto pumping shotguns
>Play in singleplayer offline and run ahead of the bots
EZ. I'd have a modicum of shame for doing so if the rewards won't so darn grindy. Make it give you the skin after playing half a dozen missions or something ffs.
>>370996662
Set arm length to max and reduce it until you can't stretch your controllers further than the in game hands can reach. They changed how the body works fairly recently.
I wonder how many anons refunded Hyper Dash already?
>>370998343
I played it when it was free to play, but never bought it. It's overpriced for what it offers.
>>370998343
I forgot to refund it in time and steam refused the request.
Alright motherfuckers it is that time of the week again! We got a few events going on this month, dating events, talking events, costume events, kon, most of which involve getting your avatar themed and ready for the event. Per usual you know where to go if you need help with that, alternatively, ask about it in the thread and ask until some asshole finally replies with an answer.
Pulsar and Zenith, we finally got around to testing the waters with Zenith, it is shaky at best but playable, we settled on Rivu-east-4 for its low pop. Pulsar is going to be played in the next week or two so some of us can get around to beating the actual story now that it is finished.

I did the same but bought it around NYE while drunk thinking there'd be more lobbies hosted but there never did end up being another one. Shame. I was skeptical about it taking off and ended up being right, kinda tempted to refund it now.
>>370999805
>it is shaky at best but playable
It straight up looks worse than township tale. Which fucking sucks because TT is unoptimised garbage that the servers it's hosted on can't even handle. They need to stop focusing on the cosmetic shop and focus on these things and I'll actually start playing it again:
>massive serverside optimisation pass
>armour
>bosses
>enemy variation
They could straight up cut a huge amount of area from the map and no one would miss it. Everything is so spread out and there's nothing in the spaces between that it's just a chore to walk all the way across it.

Beginner hiphop dance class in vrchat approximately 7 hours from now at 7:30PM PST. Will start with some warmups with fundamental movements, basic rhythm and counts. Then we will create a 32 count choreography using some basic hiphop moves. 2nd to last class.

Allright niggers we should get serious about making a Zenith guild so we can play video games together without trannies and coomers ruinging it. We need to decide on a shard to play on and a guild name. I propose we name our guild Sneed's Feed and Seed.
Also i'm wary of out of game groups but would a steam group be over the line?
>>371007685
No dude you should be the sole member of the guild so it can't be corrupted by coomers and trannies and women and men and numales and uhhh make up some more yourself, I'm tired.

>>371008112

>>371007685
I think aiming for a shard that's full would serve better, considering how most mmo's have huge player falloff after one month and how many shards will be left empty afterwards. Also, I think the guild name limit is only 15 letters? I forget
Holy shit I was missing so many mods for the r6 character no wonder half the buys weren't working. r2 only autodownloaded like 4 of them that were absolutely required.

Crossbows do deal damage, but you basically have to be within melee range so they're useless
So, it's pretty much been six years now since the release of the Rift CV1, yet there hasn't really be a whole lot in terms of advancement that has actually reached the mainstream headset market, other than improved resolution.
Most of the options continue to be wired and have essentially the same pitiful field of view that the CV had.
The number of actually decent games hasn't really increased that much either and VR still isn't being offered even as an alternative viewing option in pretty much any mainstream games, apart from Hellblade.
Sure, there is some interesting stuff in the prototype stage, or in the really expensive price bracket, but it's not going to do most people, or myself, any good until it actually reaches the mainstream market.
Just how many more years is this limbo of slow progress still going to go on for?
>>370990736
What racing wheels do you recommend, anon?
And is hmd really better than just a mega ultrawide?
>>371009073
Speak for yourself. Wireless and standalone on the Quest 2 is a game changer for me.
>>371009226
It depends on your budget. The Logitech G29 is your best bet if you want a wheel, pedals, and a shifter. A mega ultrawide might be even harder to run. Than a VR headset and won't be as immersive of course.
>>371009073
>Most of the options continue to be wired and have essentially the same pitiful field of view that the CV had.
Eh, this one is bit of a shit argument. We have an immensely popular headset that can do both standalone and wireless, it just happens so that you and me don't own it. VR as a tech moved forward since CV1 for sure, we're tracking individual fingers on every major platform, software/api got super friendly (i remember how i struggled like hell to set anything up in Unity years ago, now setting a VR project for steamvr is the matter of reading one 5min tutorial), it's all going forward.
Then again, it sure isn't as lively as it could be. Unless facebook meta kicks in, VR will probably remain niche. I'm fine with it, but i can understand why many are not.
>>371009226
>wheel
g29, t300, but you can go more budget if you want to. Just make sure you're getting at least 900deg rotation (not that you need it, it's just that there are no good wheels below 900deg) and real FFB that's well-supported, meaning at least g27/dfgt, or thrustmaster t150.
>ultrawide
I got ultrawide, VR is just something else. Full 1:1 scale, depth perception, 3D, the overall feel is to die for. Google around and see how much effort simfags used to put into setting perfect FOV for their setup, and now imagine that VR has pixel-perfect FOV no matter where you are and what is your head positon, and that's only one of many, many upsides of it.
>>371009073
Another 10-20 years. Honestly, I never gave a shit about HMDs. I just want good games with passable gameplay loops that vrg/vrgg will play for a extended time and not instantly burnout from a month of FOMO and go back to Discord/VRC until the next fomo pops. It's just tiresome. I really do miss NA Pavlov sometimes.
>>371008142
SneedsFeedNSeed is exactly 15 characters
I can confirm that Walkabout Minigolf VR is, in fact, fun. I do recommend it if you like minigolf. It's better than Golf It's VR that's for fucking sure.
>>371010414
Doesn't look bad for $9. Is the DLC worth it? How does it compare to other VR golf games?
>>371009302
>>371010001
The issue of "tunnel vision" still remains in Quest 2, though.
It just hurts the feeling of really being there a lot when you don't have any peripheral vision and it feels like you're looking at the world through a tube.
>we're tracking individual fingers on every major platform
This will certainly be great once more games start to make use of it.
>software/api got super friendly
The sad thing about this is that it wouldn't really take the devs that much time or effort to support VR as a viewing option in games that run on engines with built in support, but they still continue to not do so.
>>371009073
it will just keep being niche like handhelds for many years. when AR can replace keyboard and mouse with hand gestures and brain interface, then big corpo and military will come on board, and entertainment will be close behind
>>371010915
Have you considered breaking into the field? I had a thought, but if there's anything I've everlearned about myself, it's that I'm positively allergic to most things IT.
>>371009073
The Index's screen was a pretty major improvement over the Rift. It went from a distinctive VR view with severe SDE to looking more like a monitor.
>just found out you can spam lightning as tank bm even when it's on cooldown
>>371010915
is the FOV on the Quest 2 that bad?
Is mage or blade master in Zenith more fun? I'm worried as melee not being physics based sounds iffy.
Kedr-chan...
>>371009504
>>371010001
Thanks Anons! I thought the 900deg was overkill, this makes more sense in this context.
>perfect fov
lotta hmds are the equivalent of looking through binoculars. What are you running, a pimax?
>>371011808
Perfect FOV in that there is no distortion. Assetto cranked up stretches things unnaturally.
>>371000740
>midnight for me
How long do these gurrah matches usually go on for? I don't want to fuck my sleeping schedule up too much
>>371011609
>>371010915
Personally, I don't know any better since it's my first VR experience, and I'm enjoying it way too much to fall into the doomer trap of the greener grass on the other, not yet existing side.
>>371012483
Usually up to two hours, but I don't think anyone would mind if you left after 1 hour to sleep. 6PM EST is a bit of a compromise, it's early NA but it still allows EUs to come without completely fucking their sleep (it used to be 3 hours later).
>>371011808
I meant fov as in ratio between width of what you see and what you should see, not actual field of view you see. Sounds a bit retarded, so, to make it easier to understand: imagine that average simfag with 29" ultrawide 60cm away from his face would probably set fov around 30 (as opposed to quake pro who would set it to 130), because it has to be scaled naturally, ideally you'd want to set it so it feels like looking through window with perceived 1:1 scale.
>>371011718
Depends on your preferred playstyle. Mage is easier since you don't have to move around a lot
>>371012534
I wouldn't say the Index is significantly better, desu. When I upgraded from Rift, FOV really a difference I noticed. It's slightly wider if you think about it, but nothing more than that.
>>371011718
Can't speak for mage, but blade master is a lot more involved in fights because of the blocking and each subclass can throw their sword for bonus damage. Mage kind of sits back and shoots from a distance. So far I'm enjoying being the one to run head first into everything as blademaster.
With that said mage is more optimal. The can clear faster and stay safer most of the times.
>>371013231
Crank your lens distance knob and get lenses as close to eyes as possible. I went from Rift to Index and FOV was #1 upgrade, it was massive, immersion went through the roof. Depends on your facial structure i imagine, but unless you're really unlucky, it should be great.
Zenith Roadmap finally released
>https://zenithmmo.com/blogs/news/zenith-post-mortem-roadmap-and-third-class-reveal
Update Coming This Month:
>23 new sidequests
>A new tier of endgame armor and weapons
>other minor stuff
Planned in 2022:
>Player Housing
>Additional lifeskills & crafting
>More end game content
>CyberNinja class (Charge bow, grappling hook & explosive gadgets)
>>371013458
Tank mage is the best of both, you get spells, self-heal, ranged damage and the ability to block.
>>371013539
I did, but it's still a limited FoV and not an inherently different experience. I have it clicked out two positions now because it's more comfortable and the difference is so minor. I think my Rift had extra FOV compared to default because the facepad was so destroyed by the time I stopped using it, too.
>>370938452
Still less buggy and more optimized than Nostos was and is more aesthetically pleasing than Orbus. Also SAO will be real once Neuralink drops.
>>371013597
>you need to evade your own explosives
Great so now I know to avoid teaming up with anybody running this class because they'll constantly be asking for revives.

>>371015835
>by then
Last night I was on and out of 30 servers at least 15 of them were full. There's potential for some staying power and I think people's investments into VR and the relatively little competition is on its side.

i want to see them do more cooking and alchemy shit so i can do more two-handed crafting. that shit is fun when you can pull it off
also player housing might be fun. in an ideal world we would have something like Alsto's housing system where you craft your own furniture
This Zenith shit is really pushing my FOMO buttons bros...
What's the monetization model even? Buy once, play forever? Do MMOs even work like that anymore, have they ever? Will it have subscriptions/VIP passes once it's out of early access?
>>371015835
>game hasn't even been out for a week
>already doomposting about it
i can not imagine having a life this empty holy shit
>>371012831
I guess that's fine, especially if it's just for one day
>>371017037
>Buy once, play forever
So long as they don't go back on their word.
No real reason not to buy it now unless you're struggling to get by and getting it means $30 less food. You get the hype of release and can always pick it up later when it's more fleshed out and more of the game it should be.
>>371017037
I'd imagine they will eventually have a cash shop for cosmetics. That seems like the fattest fish in the barrel.
>>371015835
>>Player Housing
>literally who cares?
That's one of the most requested things in MMORPGs. You'll always have that one person asking for it in an MMO.
>>371015835
>23 new sidequests
It's a good start if they can easily add such fller content in. New recipes along these lines would be ideal
>Player Housing
Lots of people want it but I think it should be lower on their priorities. We need proper cosmetic customization for our characters more than housing however if housing is tied heavily to crafting and resource gathering it would add a much needed additional timesink.
>Additional lifeskills & crafting
Smithing seems to be the most commonly asked and devs have noted it
>>371017037
They've already said cash shop for cosmetics will come. I imagine they'll milk anime references like they did with the Sword Art Online cosmetics that got people to shill their game.
>>371013597
I'll definitely pick the game up when I can play a ninja. It sounds worth at least one playthrough of the main campaign.
>set up skyrim VR
>see Ralof in full 3D VR for the first time
>try to hug him
>get teleported away
>try to hug him later
>he recoils
>kill a wolf and reanimate it
>try to pet it
>it turns away from me
Why does everyone hate me? Also VRIK holsters are kinda janky

>>371020350

>newfags
No, you're just comparing a completely different game to doompost instead of clicking the server browser and seeing that half of the servers are full on prime time.
Right now almost every US East server is full, as in "I can't log in" full. Every other one is medium.
>>371018897
The problem is that they're limited because it's clear Quest 2 hardware is their target market. So it's not going to look anywhere near beautiful enough to really milk cash shop cows, and when you look down; you can't see anything anyway. You barely have a bust if you play as a girl.
>>371021643

It's one of the most popular VR Games right now entirely organically and has no signs of stopping unlike Amazon's attempt at marketing an MMO to success.

You can't compare New World and Zenith in terms of playerbase because New World's success was entirely artificial. If you had a twitch prime sub, you were given a New World subscription and a free download to try it out. The game had huge freebie subscription tiers you could get by just going to a website and clicking abutton, and because of that; everyone tried it at least once. After all of that ended, the game came crashing down because nobody was going to seriously pay for it.
Zenith is different, if you want to be part of Zenith, you have to pay for it. As far as I know it has no free services to let you play it for free for even a short amount of time. You like it, you pay for it, and that settles it. So the playerbase playing it right now is more likely to stay around than millions of freebie players who clicked ads on twitch and that's how they got there.

hey why does no one want to post about games here? could it be because actual discussion about VR games gets met with /v/ tier trolling? It's a new game and no one will even discuss its shortcomings, you just post shit like this and hope that's a good enough reason for people to quit playing. You don't even mention shit like
-Empty world
-Few quests
-Early Access
-Ugly graphics
You instead just start posting buzzwords and hoping discussion about it dies. 'Asset Flip'? How do you even get that?

am I the only one who prefers the saturated quest 2 colors compared to pc vr?
how come this thread is 3 days old? is there really that little to talk about?
>>371032076
Welcome to the world of thread splits. Some splits are good, some are bad. But really they just exist to make a small handful of people happy, and not all of them work out. I think most people still talk about games in the main thread anyway.
>>371032076
pretty much. It's comfy though, compared to endless schizo posting.
well lads it was a success in my book, see you next thread. keep dabbing on the fags who are so mad they come here to shit up the thread instead of staying in their containment thread.
>>371032076
the other threads speed is due to all the namedrop schizo posting and offtopic shitposts
This thread is mostly on topic except for the handful of posts discussing the thread split meta like this post and your post.
Besides it's time to make a new thread.
>>371032823
Any reason why the schizos aren't targeting this thread too even though it's pretty much mainly the same community?
What ever the reason may be. I personally think it's ok if it's like this.
We have two threads to jump to for discussions.

pretty sure they will eventually

Fresh Thread!

Post timer cool downs will probably keep them concentrating on the vrchat thread where they can guarantee their targets will see their shitposts.
>>371033238
just the nature of social games like vrchat I guess. I wish the mods would do their job though, it's all so tiresome.
I think a thread split is inevitable and a good thing anyway. Imagine if like all of PC games were in a single /pcg/. Some have tried a vrvg split even way back in 2018, but I think VR was too small then to support two threads. Now seems like a ripe time.
>>371033238
they are lightly already. surely in the future they will increase their efforts if people act retarded and respond to them.
>>371033340
I really hope you're wrong anon.
>>371033663
>where they can guarantee their targets will see their shitposts.
That makes sense. Meaning it's actually healthy over all for us the more threads we get and the bigger our VR community becomes.
HIRSHIMOOT GIB /xr/ Board already motherfucker
>>371033680
how long has that stuff being going on for anyway?
>>371034112
The schizoposting? It ebbs and flows, but I've accepted it's pretty much intrinsic to /vg/, unless the mods actually start banning. I recommend using 4chanX recursive filtering. It's pretty easy to pick out some keywords to filter 80% of the trash.
>>371034752
will probably do that, though the thread will almost be barren sometimes
>>371033340
Honestly anon, the only reason why I approve of this general's creation is because the schizoposters and their posts are being removed. Why this wasn't or hasn't been happening with the vrg thread I will never really care enough to ask, I'm just glad it is actually happening now. Interthread drama, interpersonal drama, don't care didn't ask don't want to hear about it. I like the cute vrc screenshots and I like vr discussion but I cannot stand the level of autism that has been plaguing the general for years.
I mean, even if the only reason why the autism isn't here is just because the schizo is searching for "/vrg/" in the catalogue and this thread isn't showing up for them, that's perfectly fine. As long as I don't have to scroll past their posts or see someone whinge about them, I am happy.
