Was there a blender addon that instantly made a proper armature?

Speed friending was fun this year. It's a good event. It was also a good opportunity to talk to people and some of the conversations I had gave me a good bit to think about.

I got to talk to a number of people who are from 4chan but really haven't gotten to know the rest of us. When I asked why, the answers generally fell into two general categories. The first is that they'd read a lot of the negativity in the thread and as a result didn't have a good opinion of vrg/vrchat. The second type of response I'd get to that question is that they'd tried joining a few weekend meetups but that it's hard to walk into a room of 60 loud people and force yourself into the community.
That stuff made sense to me. I think that if I were a newfriend, I'd feel the same way.

That stuff got me thinking, and also kinda collided with another thing I've been thinking lately. And that is now that we have /vrgg/, I think it's a pretty good time to start posting lots of vrchat stuff here again. I've kind of just been lurking for awhile because I didn't want to bother the non-vrchat people with vrchat content, but now that there's an alternate thread for people allergic to vrchat stuff to go to, that seems like less of a concern.
I think having more stuff in the thread about vrchat would help newfriends to have a positive and less intimidating impression of the community on the way in too. That would address some of the things I heard this weekend about how we're hard to approach.

So I guess the takeaway from this post is that I'm going to start to make more of an effort to post content in the thread and I hope others do the same. I know there are some screenshots servers and people avoid posting stuff like that in the thread, but I think it would make a positive impact if more content was posted here as well.

Anything that can be done to make meetups more accessible or less intimidating is something I'd be interested in hearing about too.

More events during the weekend might be good.
People do a good job of hosting events throughout the week (pypy or workouts or movies) but everything goes radio silent during the weekend.
I would guess the reason is that people don't host events lest it interferes with the big meetup, but having no apparent alternative in the thread could be what turns a lot of people off.

After interviewing almost everyone (128 people) in the friend by friend instances I can confirm a solid 72% of attendees found /vrg/ through a friend and not organically. There was also surprising amount of users who only would lurk /v/ and no other boards, and joined post 2016. After running through the feedback I have come to the conclusion that in comparison to last year's interviews a solid 35% increase in newfags that joined VRG do not participate Chan or board culture and are merely associated with friends who do via VRChat. Although most of this information is more or less known, what is significant is that compared to the 2020/2021 survey the direct correlation between the quest 2 headset and quality of the user base within the community has degraded significantly and will continue to do so.

I asked people some questions like that but didn't keep numbers. In the NA speed friending instance I was in, I did ask everyone I was matched with and most people told me they were from 4chan. Several said that they were from other boards or that they checked out our thread and that it made them hesitant.
I was matched with maybe around 5 true randos and they all told me that they joined off friends. Furthermore, when I asked him who their friends were, most of them would give me names that I didn't even recognize, suggesting that they were randos who were joining off randos.

All things considered I think the seaman world hopping is a great way to get into the community from a zero start point but it's at a shit hour for americlaps so a large portion won't make it. An early, pre-peak american, regular world exploration meetup would be best to get newfags acquainted. Preferably small instances probably under 20 people. Having it run by someone that isn't already an established anchor would be a good idea too because an anchor hosting something would get their web joining up instantly or fomoing in and flooding the instances, completely defeating the point.
