if your router is worth its weight in salt and your PC has a direct ethernet connection to it and will be in the room you're going to play vr in there will be no need to buy a link cable to play PCVR games, but you will need to buy virtual desktop (30bux on the oculus store)
wireless/wired will always introduce latency but for me it's basically unnoticeable, quality is a bit of an issue though..
the elite strap I heard is prone to snapping, I recommend buying the bobovr or kiwi headstrap instead and kiwi controller straps

You can use gestureweightright/left for that and use that parameter for animation time in the fx/action layer. I have a vive and it only has one analogue trigger which is used for the fist gesture. There's a vive advanced gestures where you can map anything to the trigger but I never use that. Currently I have it set so it lifts my tail on fist so I have fine control over how my tail moves. A couple of people have it on blink which can be used to make a lot of different expressions. Your animation will need to have lots of keyframes though with the start of the animation being the neutral state and the end being the full on state for it to work.
