Nofio is also just a startup, they don't necessarily have the connections or deal making capacity of a big company like Valve. So you can't expect them to be able to source the most advanced components, especially for cheap.

Not exactly. Quest, despite seeing some success, is still mostly populated by newer, younger indie studios that never participated in the traditional games market. Regular PC/console/mobile devs have mostly still not entered the VR market in any serious capacity. To truly be in the "everyone and their mother" phase, Quest 2 would have to have both all these new devs as well as all the older existing big studios making serious games for it, and not just one-off "experiences", experiments, and the like. Obviously we are still not there, otherwise even PC and console VR would be much larger markets due to the spillover effect.

Put your foot trackers on your feet, not your ankles, so that you get foot rotation too. Strap them there using either trackstraps or tundra straps or some cheap knockoff solution or use tiewraps or shoelaces to keep them on some shoes.

My VR HMDs have been picking up dust, used to play it a lot when I was into IL2 and DCS, but recently I've moved to Star citizen and prefer using TrackIR on a 55" since it is easier to find my controls on multiple control panels despite not being as immersive.
It's just far less setup time and a lot more convenient whilst retaining some similarities to VR head tracking wise.

VR spoiled me for IL2/DCS I never got back into them on my monitor.
I can get away with feeling around for controls not bound to hotas on a control panel somewhere. I don't play them multiplayer so I don't have to reach for the keyboard to type.

Pimax 8kx was a huge turn off to setup so many issues with the software, went back to the vive pro and settled on that with a gearVR lens mod since it is far more polished software wise and the performance is balanced but the resolution leaves more to be desired. Still OLED blows LCD out of the fucking water for night missions.

Quest 2 or Index. Both have their flaws. Index cable tends to go bad after a while (depends on how you treat it ofcourse) and it's not wireless but other than that a very solid all-around headset, kind of expensive though. Quest 2 is wireless, cheap and doesn't require a PC to run but requires a facebook account and if you want to play PCVR games you need to either use the link cable or stream it through virtual desktop, and you'll need a PC that can handle VR ofcourse.
