Welp, it happened. my PC's old ass CPU finally pooped out (it's old as fuck, 6th gen intel)

I have to ask if anyone has it or any thoughts...how well will a i5 13600k run VRChat under heavy rooms loaded with people? my old 6700 chugged like crazy which is fully understandable. I have a 3070 and 32GB of RAM so that side is okay, but my CPU was always a problem.

I just don't want to buy a new one then realize I'm still getting terrible FPS in crowded rooms. I want a smooth experience for once in VRC and apparently the 13600k is good in both single core processes and overall good for gaming, with the 13700k being only slightly better (and like 140 bucks more so fuck that)

For shit like VRChat, cache matters a LOT. The thing is that a faster clock speed doesn't get used since there's a lag between swapping stuff between RAM and L3, so a higher 'speed' processor ends up idle waiting for data swapping if there's less cache. What matters to you is how low the frametime can get with a processor, and the X3D delivers way above its weight class.

I finally got a new card and realized how bad optimized everything in this game is. Probably avatars mainly.
I can't pull more than 40 fps in pypy with 35 nip booth avatars. My vram goes to almost full capacity while the GPU load is around 30-40% at most.

Still need to test more Oculus Link configurations, as of now I can't find the difference at all.
