I'm a brainlet that's never fucked with 3D models before. I extracted the textures, meshes, and animations for the character I want to turn into a VRchat model. It's from a Unity game, and they were extracted as .pngs, .objs, and .jsons, so that's the step I'm on, I guess I need to put them together in the way VRchat expects them to be packaged?.
A friend was spoonfeeding me, but when he realized I was doing TEH ILLEGAL 3D MODEL PIRACY he freaked and blocked me, so I'm kind of lost.
Is there a guide or someone that can spoonfeed me?

objs are static 3d models, they aren't rigged

that means your ripped character doesn't have a skeleton and the mesh has no weight painting (the deformation values that tell it how much it bends with the skeleton and where). The skeleton might be in the json idk but even if it is still no weights.

You'll have to recreate those from scratch. If you've never worked with 3d before it could be too much. Workshop might be able to help you but starting the blender dungeon with weight painting is going to be very very fun.

I tried the demo back before multiplayer was added and found it pretty frustrating. The pick axes were so short that they made for terrible melee weapons. It was impossible to hit the spiders before they hit me because they were lower than my irl floor or had a longer attack range than I did. Plus they would always sneak up on me making no noise to show aggro. I know you can make weapons that are (probably) better but I never got that far. My first climb that I managed to extract from I didn't bring back enough or the right resources to craft anything at all. The extraction hook ended up further away than I had explored which just made me feel like I was absolutely shit at the game.
Has it improved much since then? I've seen a bunch of people shill it but I don't want to sink into the grind just to find out it's not for me.

Resolution aside, my lens-modded Vive Pro still takes the crown in visuals.
Pico 4 is great, FOV and form factor in particular, but I cannot get past the horrendous bloom/lens flares and internal reflections.
