Depends on symptoms i guess. I lost half my vision in both of my eyes and i can't walk for more than about 20 minutes before my feet feel like they are being crushed by bricks and constricted by rocks. I also can't remember half of anything and have to take different medication for all sorts of random after effects like heart burn which i never had before the surgery. Standalone headsets are great as a pcvr headset when used wireless, but you'll sacrifice a bit of image quality due to compression and some (in my opinion) non noticeable additional input delay

Compared to what? Mine is fine after 3.5 years while my CV1 Rift's mic was faulty within weeks and it didn't even take a year for the strap and right headphone to break. By 18 months it was held together by cable ties and tape to prevent it falling to pieces. That said, I don't really plan to use the voice changer full time or even the majority of the time. It does need a bit of improvement until it's really up to the level where I'd consider using it full time.
