Getting Dirt Rally 2 going again with a new club. Starting off with a relatively easy class, H1 FWD cars in New England.
For anyone that hasn't done this before, all you have to do is join the club and do a run at some point before the event ends. Your times go on a leaderboard with everyone else that ran it.
I'm thinking of setting a night where anyone that's interested can hop in and run at the same time, but this first one is just to test things out.
First event will be a little longer, but I'm planning on switching to week long events starting on Mondays after this one unless anyone has any other suggestions.

I found another mod that advertises decoupled aiming and viewing but the site is way more suspicious and there isn't a lot of info on what game version you'd need to downgrade to for it to work. The readme recommends only using one of the 3 presets it ships with, and for reference I don't have the best PX (6700XT and Ryzen 5 1600) but on the mod's "medium" preset I don't get any framerate drops from 90fps. The resolution is OK but the game quality is mid. The advanced section says you can tweak some of the graphics settings to fine tune them so I'll give that a try soon. Using an Index and playing on M+KB.

Yes. The other VR mod that advertised decoupled aim/view also had a page talking about an alpha for true stereoscoping rendering. I guess a lot of this stuff got shut down because of Take Two issuing DMCA notices so you have to hack together whatever you can find to make anything work.

controller is what is recommended but I like using KBM for some reason.

I also have some VR games from Itch.io and ci-en. They just work, without steam running. SteamVR doesn't need Steam, and if Valve just dissapears right now, you can still play and make new SteamVR compatable games.

You can also theoretically use your Index headset with OpenXR in the event of SteamVR just disappearing.

OpenXR and OpenVR are just APIs. They are both implemented by SteamVR. SteamVR is not gonna disappear as long as anyone has a copy of it.

You don't need to install it, just copy paste and run vrserver.exe.

Additionally there is alternatives like Monado, which has lighthouse compatable opensource drivers, implements OpenXR and OpenVR.

There is, and it's just capsule collision. You can stand on people, and it's fun. There's scripts that take advantage of it for this reason.

Their system they use just relies on animations on the sex furniture they use (since furniture controls the animators) automagically adjusting the transparency of different parts of the dick, usually. Lots of things are scripted to handle it in some fashion, but it's pretty clumsy. Nice part is you don't need to do it from POV and all, but it really is just porn. Quite expensive porn, too. A good sex couch will cost you around 20USD, not counting the land needed to plop the thing down.

There's no point in arguing over whether Second Life or VRC is 'better' - what they offer is ultimately very different and unfortunately for the Second Life folks, they don't know what VR actually is. I originally bought VR because I wanted to use my hands to pet cute anime girls. That was obviously a radically ignorant perspective.

I think of Second Life like people who hang out in MMOs, like FFXIV. You're happy to 'play' a game where you have a character on the screen that you roleplay as. I am not a roleplayer. I've never been into 'games' where I'm just an avatar hanging out with other people. In VRChat, you ARE the avatar. You are there in person.

There's absolutely going to be crossover for people who ARE into the whole roleplay social thing, but for them it's ultimately about how much they care about being in the game themselves vs watching a character on a screen, and whether they want to be a realistic TDA (Second Life) or a cute anime girl (VRC). They prefer SL, we prefer VRC. They are fundamentally different experiences.

I'm playing some games and I'm having a blast, but my headset (quest 2) dies kinda faster than I'd like since I enjoy long gamer sessions. In terms of cord management, some people do use rigs that suspend the cable. Make sure to get one of the cable suspension systems actually made for VR cables. If you try to DIY it, there's a good chance you'll damage your cable.
