went back to zenith last night to try out the new class and changes to the new player experience. the game has got to the point of feeling like runescape back in the day, skyland is an interesting area where you're contributing and building out the facilities. cyber ninja is pretty fun, your bow can switch to dual kama and the ninja run makes you feel pretty fast. movement has been greatly improved; you can now flick yourself while climbing to use way less stamina, jumping doesn't use stamina and few other bits. new gathering skills really push the runescape vibe, but the multitool also has a grapple hook for more mobility fun. did the first raid with one other cyber ninja, we tried to cheese it but the bosses health wouldn't budge but it was a pretty easy fight. there's also housing now with pretty basic but probably memeable tools, you get a default layout and have to pay to customize more areas. of course they put music speakers in an area you can't touch at first
would recommend giving it a second chance as long as you can go without saying nigger while playing it

I've dabbled in hosting game events in NA time zones but the fact of the matters is that NA is dominated by VRChat, and anything you host will always be split between any number of vrchat events.

What you want is 2d background audio that gets enabled and disabled via on onEnterTrigger door or exit then. Search for onEnterTrigger and onExitTrigger for vrchat and do a toggle() by disabling the audiosource gameobject when exiting and enabling the audio source gameobject when entering.
Use a cube collider trigger.
That's how I would do it.

Yea, I can't speak to it on a traditional PC but on my Deck, with a USB keyboard and mouse, it does everything that I'd want a PC to be able to do and the inclusion of flatpack systems and such, as well as the massive crowd of people who develop solely for the Deck with things like Emudeck, have made it pretty much Windows level of ease of usage, though maybe older versions of Windows and not modern. I'm perfectly happy using my Deck as a replacement for a laptop when I travel, with the only issue being that I do have a Windows dualboot for Office and a few other programs that I'm too lazy to learn the modern Linux alternatives for since they fucking sucked back in the day. I'd be comfortable giving my tech illiterate father a SteamOS Deck as his main computer and he'd be fine, while anyone who's enough of a power user to want to do crazy things isn't going to find it intimidating to learn some basic console commands and such.

both have very similar issues thanks to Valve not fixing async on the overlay yet :)
modern Nvidia seems to be perfectly fine except for rare cases when Nvidia fucks up their driver (which actually happened for the current latest drivers but 525 was fine)
bleeding-edge RDNA3 was rocky but seems perfectly fine now, hell they're more stable than the Windows drivers when I last tried those
SteamVR's main pain-points on Linux are:
>SteamVR Overlay runs terribly and has broken Async Reprojection
>SteamVR Compositor has an inherent performance overhead of 1-2ms by default which just means performance gets a hit in general without even running a game
>Index camera doesn't work at all but a random abandonware github repo project lets you use it :^)
>Bindings UI is absolute webshit and runs ESPECIALLY slowly on Linux; its practically unusable at times
if Valve fixes these things then it'd be fairly solid with the general assumption you'll get a hit in performance from Proton for non-native shit

I feel like what's dominant in the office and what's domininant in the home stop being related when you stop using your parents "family computer". In the 2000s it felt like gamers were savvy enough to switch OSes if they wanted to. The hobby had a required level of autism you know, it's not console gaming. This younger generation might be more illiterate, but the really illiterate ones stay in the iOS and androids ecosystems so linux vs windows isn't even a discussion. But maybe the ones buying and building RGB PCs can do it, especially because youtube has vastly reduced the the intelligence required to follow instructions.

I'm not an advanced user. Growing up, when me and my ilk were thinking about switching to linux there were three problems.

1) It won't run your games
2) It won't run your non-office software either
3) it's not very good

None of those were, "But what office suite will I use?". Or "I can't use that program my job requires". It didn't matter what office software does or doesn't run on linux. What mattered is the strong network effect of many windows users and few linux users, even among a younger demographic that was not using office software despite the fact that it did not have to turn out this way. And the effect was strongly reinforced by not being able to play games. Because it wasn't reinforced by not being able to web browse, check your email, message your friends, look at porn, etc. All that worked on linux.
