I haven't but here's another Anon's review: "Tried Dance Dash (this https://store.steampowered.com/app/2005050/Dance_Dash/) a bit, is fun but definitely a really early access and probably not worth it's price for now imo.
Core gameplay is basically a Dance Rush Stardom simulator but with vr elements forced into it (hands, moving walls) which is fun, even though I feel like the hands do not blend that well in the gameplay.
Scoring seems to be based mostly on accuracy as when looking at top scores, some lower max combos have better scores than max combos (which is a really good sign).
Hit detection is weird, it seems to be possible to abuse by continuously doing micro movements, what I suspect (so would not 100% say it is, just assumption) is that the game will: 1 - look if your foot was at correct position when the note comes, 2 - register points in time where your tracker was moving above a threshold and take the best score out of them.
Game is barebone in terms of vr settings, you cannot recenter/move play space within the game and more importantly: you can't really calibrate your foot position relative to tracker
When you calibrate it assumes that your tracker is at the center of your ankle, which forces you to put your tracker on the ankle otherwise your feet will be 5-6 cm in front of you. Not being able to put the tracker on the foot itself means that you can't tilt your foot to validate notes which is pain.
There's possibility to import custom charts, as well as an in-game downloader. I see the latter as a bad thing but I might just being a purist here.
Definitely a lot of polish is needed, as well as quality of life options, but hopefully those will come with time"

My next headset is going to have micro oled, eye/face tracking and be wireless.

Qpro seems to work fine.
The controlers been losing tracking each few seconds but factory resetting them seems to have helped.
Local dimming is really fuckin good, not OLED good but its pretty good.

it's my 2nd day trying VR stuff. Got my quest3 yesterday and used it for like 10 hours straight.

I've been using link cable to connenct to occulus program on PC. and then launching steamVR through that but it seems kinda buggy or like something isn't working right.

about halfway through playing alyx i encountered huge framerate dips but I don't know what caused it and upon reloading/restarting it was back to 90hz.
I want to try virtual desktop but I can't get it to connect thru my shit router.
the app says it should work but even though it recognizes my PC it doesn't connect. (i think this is because my ethernet is plugged into a pcie card and not the mobo though)

The per-eye rendered hfov of the Quest3 is the same as the Quest 1: 94 degrees.
The total rendered hfov is also only 108 at a very average IPD of 64mm, actually 2 degrees less than the advertised 110 hfov.
How do you get 108hfov when the per-eye hfov is the same? by reducing the overlap to only 80 degrees.
For comparison, the Quest 1 has a rendered hfov of 104 degrees at the same IPD, with an overlap of 84 degrees.
You can get 104hfov on the Quest 1 ( by tilting it down a bit) , and 108hfov on the Quest 3 ( eye relief at lowest setting ), but in the process you also end up seeing the outer edge of the display, assuming your nose will even fit.

The Rendered FOV numbers obviously don't tell what you will be able to see through the lenses, but they do provide an upper limit for a given IPD. You're not getting 110hfov if it's only rendering 108, and the only way to increase that is to increase the IPD, thus reducing overlap even further.

Ok so if you get error 126 due to CS2 not opening and you uninstall the c++ redistributables then reinstall them and it makes CS2 work but other shit breaks like SteamVR not running and unity projects not opening.


1. Uninstall all the C++ redistributables again by going in to Add/Remove Apps and uninstalling.
2. Run CCleaner or some other registry cleaner.
3. Install or if you already have it installed go to Steamworks Common Redistributables in your steam library
4. Right Click -> Manage -> Browse Local Files
5. Go to _CommonRedist -> vcredist
6. in vcredist there's folders named 2010 up to 2022
7. Open 2010, click on vcredist_x64.exe and install it, do the same for vcredist_x86.exe
8. Continue for each folder in there through to 2022 (*important*)
9. go back up to _CommonRedist and go to DirectX folder
10. run and reinstall DXSETUP.exe (*important*)

Everything will work again.
If you ever get a error 126 or 127 for a steam game should just go ahead and do this anyway, shortcut steps where you just reinstall the very latest redist from the Microsoft website might fix it but can fuck up a lot of other things in the process)

So Microsoft now packages the common c++ redist's for 2015 to 2022 as a single install.
A lot of stuff needs it and almost all valve products require it hence their own Steam Common Redistributable package.
So my theory on this is Valve packages the 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2022 redists separately and it's all cleanly laid out.
When you download them all from Microsoft you're never sure which is which because they're not named by their year they all are just called vcredist_x64 or vcredist_x86.
Internet tells you it doesn't matter what order you install them in but i swear i installed 2015 and then installed 2013 after when i hadn't installed 2013 yet and it asked me if i wanted to repair install because it was already installed so shits fucked.
And lastly uninstalling and reinstalling seems to fuck with directx maybe it's dependent on some of them so you have to reinstall it so it latches onto the registry of the correct install and not an old registry.

None of these programs tells you this is the problem btw they just try to launch and then never pop up.
Internet gives you parts of the solution because somebody will just uninstall and reinstall say just the 2015-2022 Microsoft package or just the 2013 Microsoft package and whatever specific program wasnt working for them will work again.

Cleanest way is to just do the full wank with the full uninstall, registry clean, reboot, Valve Redistributables, reinstall in year of release order.

If you're currently using the built in airlink I'd give virtual desktop a try and attempt to play around with the different codec and bitrates for them. Certain codec work better for different things and if your machine and router can handle it, cranking the bitrate up a lot will help with the artifact. Generally it's only bad on busier screens with very complicated backdrops while simpler scenes will work nearly perfectly even at meh bitrate.
