Turning black thing is the headset thinking there is no one using the headset due to none tight headset attachment or blocking the internal face sensor somehow. Losing tracking the headset will give you a message rather than turn black

everything tracks fine normally. If I turn on eye/facial tracking in the settings it will start freezing a still image and then pop up a message saying I lost tracking.
It will then start working again for a few seconds and then continue to pop up that message again until I manage to make my way to the settings and turn off eye tracking. I've tried factory resetting it. I'm not sure what else I can do.

Oh yeah, it's these people. I usually phone it in on songs from this group, I forget what their little studio is called but this studio is a group of highly ethnic individuals and the main problem with them is that they randomly change their stuff up with very little rhyme or reason and very little indication of what they're going to do next. They also cut their shit randomly (see 0:08 and 1:35) and I generally find them unfun to dance to. There's a TML version of blinding lights that is muuuuch better.

When crappy songs are played I won't try very hard. I also hate Golfy because he will just randomly go offbeat and will do random floaty shit that makes absolutely no sense.
The groups that you can actually follow without having to just go ahead and memorize the routines are better, like Marshall and TML.
I don't complain too much because I don't want to dictate what people play, but there are some really crappy tracks in the pypy machine.

Virtual Desktop is good because it bypasses the Meta software on your PC. I'm not some privacy nerd but it is just a smoother overall experience. I have also heard that the encoding is better on VD. Unless you plan on playing Quest games outside of your house I don't see any point in buying games for the stand alone store, maybe Eleven Table Tennis. There are also Quest exclusive PC games if you check their PC launcher, I don't really keep up with them.

Check if they are receiving and contributing to GI

Default steamvr overlays can be connected to dash, world, or controllers, not your head. Desktop+ addon (its on steam) allows pinning to your head, xsoverlay too I think.

if you wanted to upgrade controllers you would have to get index knuckles as well, but the beyond is still the only clear upgrade for PCVR, upgrading to an index this late in it's lifecycle is ill-advised. Quest 3 is decent if you don't want to go all out since it's specs are generally better than the index.

I took a 3d model of the tundra baseplate and used blender to cut 2 slots in it (i still haven't figured out cad software) then 3d printed and replaced the stock baseplate with it. it depends what youre doing, i have quest pro and i use it everyday with my index knuckles and FBT trackers, but i bought it well before the q3 being announced and i probably would buy the q3 now instead because the qpro is horribly unbalanced physically for FBT dancing and i think q3 would be nicer for my specific usecase. but i DONT USE THE CONTROLLERS at all aside from opening virtual desktop since i use index knuckles.

I'm only running 106 plugins, most of those being .esps for loading textures as I need to justify spending money on a 4090. I'd say it's worth it, I like the game a lot more than playing it flat. Sure Fallout 4 is the weakest mainline Fallout, but VR and Sim Settlements 2 allow it to stand out and do its own thing. The VR settlement building interface is ironically one of the few things Bethesda put effort into, and placing stuff with your hands is fun.

It certainly does the shooting better than the other Fallout games too with VR+working sights/scopes+ballistics mods+physical grenade chucking. I use a slowmo VATS mod that similar to Super Hot drains your bar whenever you move, along with the real time wrist based Pip Boy option on. So VATS only goes down when I am shooting, moving, using my pip boy, or pulling out a stimpack to stab myself in the hand Alyx style. There's still no manual reloading sadly, physically cranking a laser musket would be a dream come true for me.

Quest 3 passthrough is fun, but when other people can't see the same thing as you there's not quite as much immersion for everyone involved.

To address this, I made a vrc world that's a recreation of my irl room and wrote an alignment/calibration script to automatically rescale, rotate, and reposition me so that my irl playspace lines up 1:1 with the in-game world.

I use this with the passthrough so that I can hang out with my VR friends in my room; they can see me in the vrc version of my room and I can see them in the irl version of my room and we're all experiencing the same thing in the same alignment

I tried Cosmodread and it sucks ass. I don't understand the 90+% positive ratings. The horror elements last a whole 20 minutes before you figure out all the ambience sounds are scripted. It's slow, boring and the only tension is not knowing when some facehugger or beholder are hiding around a corner.
Same thing with Propagation: Paradise Hotel. That game has basically one hotel floor that last 2hrs, there's zombie corpses everywhere which are scripted to get back to life at certain point in the story but most of all it's plagued by the absolutely dreadful AI director system straight ripped from Alyx. Running low on ammo and health? Surprise surprise just open random drawers and here you go!

I don't think there's a pirate build of virtual desktop for the Q3. The main reason why you want to use it is because the godlike resolution setting is much higher than what the occulus streaming software offers and there's a bunch of other nice options in there.

The shaders in that screenshot is complementary unbound. It's included in the instance download, both a VR-tweaked version and a unironic version, but if you use it in vr you should also turn off the light shafts because I forgot, they sometimes render in non-stereo.

The main reason for being simply vanilla+ is for vr-optimization and longevity. We actually tried a full-on modded server for vivecraft here a few years ago and it died almost instantly, for multiple reasons that mostly stem from being heavily modded. I want to be able to keep this one up steadily, update it to new versions of minecraft, and not run into issues or have to make players have to keep redownloading updates to the mods to fix things. That being said we do have a few mods, mainly create - for engineering autism, and little maids. I might make one more update to the server to add small mods that were requested so if you anons have any suggestions please let me know, can't be too unvanilla though

Just finished Ziggy's cosmic adventure, a bit disappointed.

It's a lot of micromanagement. Quite short (3-4 hours to beat campaign, but you can do alternative routes and levels, so replayable, but it's seems it's gonna be pain in the ass to get into alternative levels without built in cheats/dev tools). Flying is weird, it's basically on the rails space shooter (you can fly only along long invisible tunnel, cannot turn around, and you fly quite slow). There is a lot of battery/damage micromagement and Ziggy cloning to get energy. It's interesting to play but lacks in polish and level design, makes it a bit dull really.

I recommend to play it if you get it on a good discount.
