Yeah it's outdated but I have a hard time justifying an upgrade only to play the same few games in the same way. I'd still be using my old CV1 if it didn't fall apart within warranty. Quest 3 is the obvious choice since it is wireless but when I look at the standalone library I'm not enthused enough to spend the equivilent of >$700 on the headset, router, headstrap etc. My current setup just works and is pick-up-and-play.

Apart from that you get some and you loose some. Quests mic is "eh", it is so "eh" that people WILL know the difference when listening to you. Especially coming from an Index.
With all Quests you will need to put in some money to mitigate the losses you get, when switching away from the Index:

Thumbstick presses actually had nothing to do with the wearing on the thumbsticks. It was purely just use. Post-2020 models have a non-fucked thumbstick that works just fine.

Well my info comes from having played pavlov a lot; the right thumbstick gets pressed every round to buy stuff multiple times. The left stick doesn't get pressed in any game, and it was always the left sticks that go first. And the pattern of them going; the drift and loss of range always happens in the most often used directions. The left stick would get forward/back drift/loss while the right stick would get left/right.

I just pirated Heartshot to play through, and while it's not brilliant, it's an acceptable James Bond game in VR. I don't have much hope for Pico so long as they're caught in the middle of a US-China trade war. The domestic Chinese VR market isn't large enough to let them compete aggressively internationally like other industries can. It was looking even darker at the start of this year when Meta were in talks with Tencent about launching a Quest 3 Lite in China, before those talks apparently fell through.

The US is the largest VR market by far, being unable to sell in the US puts any VR product at a big disadvantage.

I've tried using steamlink but I can't stream passthrough stuff, which is what I want to do, I can only hear discord while I'm in the immersive app. I know I can cast to the browser stream and screenshare that on discord, but then the stream audio is tied to my pc and I can't use my headset speakers/mic. The Light Brigade "Complete". Funnily enough the best weapon is a fast firing assault rifle that has good range and capacity. Pray you find/buy healing items on your way to fight Duncan lest you'll die to the teleporting sword slices (I haven't found out how to dodge those yet). You can't outrun the AoE chains while you're aiming down the sights so you either have to keep teleporting or hip firing so a laser sight is good too. Completing the game unlocks a higher difficulty for the runs, where you get more souls for kills but enemies are beefier. Still wouldn't recommend this game unless it's on a good sale.

Enemies will try to maintain distance away from you dependent on what weapon they have. Having a regular sized sword is optimal because every enemy has those. There's a long sword which is the smallest two handed sword which is just short enough to fit in this category but still have good reach. OK so if it is a hardware issue then why does rebooting my PC always fix it? I took the cable out and cleaned it a bit but I've always managed to fix this by just rebooting. Oh shit didn't know you could shoot the cigar. It seems to heal one hp every puff and you can force a puff by taking it out of your mouth and sticking it back in.
Yeah it tries to keep everything unexplained to help pad out it's length but you really lose dungeon variety in the later half, even more so once you hit the obsidian temple. You need to unlock class specific abilities at the blacksmith but even then it's not usually worth it. In my opinion the first thing you should try to do on a good class (not pistoler or rifleman) is upgrade the primary weapon. Killing the enemy faster than he can fire back is the priority. There are magic wands and special charms for hitting shit but the best thing is a power field to shoot through (very blinding but boosts bullet damage) and the chain shot that's good for groups of enemies (like the huntress laser glaive that bounces between enemies).
Also recommend you turn on everything in the game settings to make the game a bit easier, being able to drop mags with a button press and store ammo with the trigger button is a great time saver.
Never liked pistoler but being able to reload by sticking empty pistols into your mag pouches is pretty cool, not that good when you use your dominant hand firearm more and are stuck ferrying mags between the pouches. The pistols having no range in this game where most enemies are riflemen hiding in the fog is also pretty annoying.

I've heard newer controllers have better build quality, so maybe they'll survive much longer. I last replaced my two pairs under warranty in 2020 and they lasted about 1200 hours each. One pair still works to an extent, but is riddled with problems that make them frustrating to use so I'm taking the opportunity to replace them now.

The cable, though, is inherently a wearable part as any movement will eventually damage the wires inside. I'm going to try a cable sleeve along the entire length this time to limit how much it can bend. I can reduce the sparkles on my other two cables by twisting them at the point where they plug in at the headset or at the back where it drops towards the floor, which are both bend points. I already replaced the clip with a rubber band but even that doesn't save it.

If there's random colored pixels flashing all over the screen, it's your cable. If it's more severe, periodically parts of the screen will white out for a moment, or the entire screen will black out for a few seconds. You have to ask support to send a replacement cable if it's within warranty or buy a new cable otherwise.

They work with PICO Connect btw. It's one option and the tracker data gets properly populated in SteamVR with virtual trackers to move your legs around.
Works in VRC and Dance Dash from what I've seen.
Hopefully meta catches on and do similar stuff because it's hard to beat 30$ imus to get good enough working virtual legs.
