>>481146438 (Cross-thread) that is normal at the beginning. Stuff is awkward. Be a mute and mingle with people. Learn how to express yourself more with moving your avatar. And one day you will speak. Or not. Nobody really cares.
>>481170881 >"""legacy""" option >obligatory because shit is completely broken without it unity moment. Inb4 they phase it out without adding an alternative
>>481173403 That does the same thing Legacy blendshape normals, import blendshape normals or None all do the same thing, because by default Blender doesn't export with smoothing groups (necessary for Legacy Blendshape Normals), or with blendshape normals (necessary for Import). As long as it's not set to Calculate you're fine, I recommend setting them to None because no one in the history of ever wants this. And if you do somehow use this because you have wacky Blender addons or you're finetuning them in Maya, you'll know that you can enable them if you need it.
>>481176383 Also while you're at it, take any Generic-rigged FBX model (such as a normal avatar before you set the rig type to Humanoid), set blendshape normals to None, and then save that as a new FBX preset in the inspector settings. Then click that preset and set it as default. That way you're not spending like 2+ minutes importing an FBX just for it to uselessly recalculate the blendshape normals that you won't use. This also works for textures to set default import settings and enable streaming mipmaps. Too lazy to post screenshots but you get the gist
>>481174534 It's definitely unity. Without it, applying a shapekey will change the normal direction of the mesh's faces. 1 shapekey at 100% will essentially force the mesh to look like you set normals from faces and shade smooth in blender. But it's also a continuous scale so 50% will make this change half way and two at 100% will have double the effect. It's broken as shit. So bad that I wonder if they expected shapekeys never to be used.
I kicked GenesisMR18, Lighterfluid030, Venator, Volpos, and some other one. I don't know what the community wants to do about the nanachi people so I didn't kick them, but all their friends that joined were kicked.
>>481179591 Refer to: >I don't know what the community wants to do about the nanachi people so I didn't kick them They've also always been interested in soccer for years. I will kill their rando furry friends as they join though.
>>481180006 >I will kill their rando furry friends as they join though. Is it better to politely ask the nanachis to go on orange on situations like this?
>>481179591 Blows my mind that genesis gets so much flak. You wouldn't even know he's a furfag without him telling you because he's always in his shota model around meetups. Meanwhile blocthead spent his birthday sucking and fucking stray cats in a back alley and mains his kemoshota. Clout issue, clearly. You're washed up at best. Picking on little guys and claiming to be cool but can't stand up against ones cooler than you. Stop pretending and just admit there are furfags people like more than you. Admit you're mid.
>>481180416 Well yes, obviously. They've also been here for like 4 years though and have been tolerated by most during that time so it's a slightly different situation than rando furry invasion which warrants an easy kick no questions asked. I don't really want to start up drama or draw a new line in the sand by kicking people who have been here for years.
>>481181040 I'm doing what I can mang, I just don't want to be put in the awkward situation of killing regulars that have been here for years. Killing the new furry horde that has been invading is a lot easier.
>>481181658 There is a half measure here. Respect is a two way street. We can respect their desire to be furries if they respect our desire to have an anime only instance.
Ask them to change models even temporarily for the event.
Different communities are different communities and should stay segregated and gatekept, I dont care if you are a furry, you should just respect what another community wants to be.
If you dont like it put in some elbow grease and make your own community with the 60%, or find people who are willing to mingle with you from vrg in a private, separate world. Under these rules you can interact with EIGHTY percent of vrc users, without trying to invade another community.

2024-06-09 00_25_29-Ace Combat 7 PC VR Patch at Ace Combat 7_ Skies Unknown Nexus - Mods and communi.jpg1316x637
Is the VR mod for Ace Combat 7 that came out in April any good? I haven't played the game before but I'd be tempted to shell out for it (still $60 holy shit) if it works well in VR at all.
>>481184527 If the community agrees to start killing furries they previously gave a pass on for many years then okay. The thing is many of them switched from being furries but recently they've started to go back. I will continue to kill all of their friends but it's a lot more of a difficult situation to be in when it's not only people that have been here for years and previously accepted but also people that show up to every game and root for the team.
For now I will continue to kick all of their friends (Lighterfluid, Venator, Genesis, etc.) and next weekend I will ask them to switch into a non-furry avatar.
>>481185709 >I will ask them to switch into a non-furry avatar. That is the sensible way. Good luck and thank you for keeping and maintaining a meetup for anime kind.
>>>481145302 (Cross-thread) Half life alyx would be a great start but it's way better than the average VR game. I'd get:
Walkabout Mini Golf Walking dead saints and sinners Vertigo remastered + vertigo 2 Pavlov VR The last clockwinder The lab (is free) Into the Radius Hot dogs horse shoes and hand grenades if you like gun sandbox autism HL2 VR mods Beat Saber Boneworks (not lab)
Bitch moves I've pulled on /vrg/.... ... ..... ..... ..... You guys are hella harsh, cannot lie. But I'm still bound to you. You can't know what it's like... being a founder for a clan that hates you. But it's what I am. I wish for peace. I would hope you do the same. If someone else out there is in a rough time and /vrg/ is being a total dick to you, talk to me. I will never judge you.
>>481194820 In a way, isn't that my point? I wish you the best with your problems, man. I have never been the cause of them. I know the drama can get stupid sometimes
>>481194968 Hahahahahahahahahaha. That's really funny man. I'm not falling for that for a single second, but it's charming. I'll leave you guys alone for now. Best wishes on stuff.
>>481195480 >>481195281 >>481193805 You got a diagnosis and medicine or some kind of treatment for your mental illness. You're annoying but i still wish jelly's paranoid schizophrenia ended up like yours or whatever the fuck it is you have.
I still want to believe you're just a hobo living on the streets of california coming by whenever you get access to free internet and a stolen laptop that is yet to be stolen by another hobo.
btw i hear fent is pretty bussin, try it some time
>>481195834 >I still want to believe you're just a hobo living on the streets of california coming by whenever you get access to free internet and a stolen laptop that is yet to be stolen by another hobo. I love this, thanks man, you're alright. >>481195782 We've been through this man, it's not just the VR. And even if I had it, I'm pretty sure I'd still be kicked on sight for bad blood alone. You're right. I do have a fear of purchasing and using a VR headset. They produce bad people. Would you want it, in my shoes? I am not certain you would.

There will be one soon in a few hrs will drop updating rentry world link from programmer-anon when the time is nigh.
So, how do you guys keep your SteamVR FBT hip trackers from flying away into la-la-land? It's always the hip tracker that drifts like this. It's never the feet. For clarification, I'm using reprogrammed Vive wands with Quest 3 and playspace combiner. I always swap out the hip from time to time, especially when batteries are low, so I know it's not an issue with THAT wand specifically. Any ideas?
>>481203130 Wrong nigger, I'm a furry and most of you are god damn degenerates that make me want to stay away from the actual furry communities. Dealing with the normalfags who come into our lobbies is one thing, but having to hear that "one guy" go on a rant about how much he likes piss is fucking disgusting. That shit is the reason a lot of us don't associate with other furries and we end up having to drift into places like this to avoid it. As bad as it is he's right. Gatekeeping good and should be practiced everywhere.
>>481204603 Fags also go to extremes like eating shit, liking toilet bowls, taking piss baths, and yet you are here. Judge the person, idiot, not the stereotype. This is not reddit, your identity politics are not respected here.
>>481205554 NTA, but stereotypes don't appear out of nowhere. The correct solution would be killing fags too, not allowing furries. If you can't stay in the closet, you deserve to have your head bashed in. Simple as.
>>481206526 >kick males wearing female avatars If they weren't kicked in any other phase, they should be allowed to stay. Literally nothing wrong with them.

krial danny buxton is a divorced criminal.png750x480
Krial hit his ex wife while drunk because she wouldn’t have sex with him. She left him afterwards. Divorce records are public in Georgia. Krial gave away his wife’s name and face publicly. He has also said what area in Georgia he lives in. There is only one woman named Karli who got a divorce in the last 5 years in the entire county that Krial lives in, Macon-Bibb in Georgia. She’s 35 and looks exactly like the woman he use to spam in discord when he first arrived. From that, you can get his real name and see his criminal record. There’s still people around that remember Karli. He brought her to events like a trophy. If anyone cares about her safety, according to her social media she’s dating someone else and appears to be safe and happy. His next target is Lyddo, who is young enough to be his daughter. If you care about her please warn her about what this guy does to girls that say no to him, as she likely will not see this because she does not read the thread.
Watched this video of a shilltuber interviewing the studio head of Camoflaj about Batman VR. Obviously need to see gameplay, but I respect him for not seeming like a robot with canned responses, directly addressing questions, tempering expectations in certain areas while also being confident.
>Modeled after Arkham Asylum, Metroidvania format >Aiming to come close to the same length as Asylum, but no promises >All the same core mechanics from the series are transferred over >Free locomotion >You have an entire body, it's not just arms or hands >Real-time shadows
>>481168612 (OP) VM anon here. How do I get around EAC? If warcraft and beatsaber don't care I'm in a VM (and I play them every day) VRC can fuck right off. /rant incoming I tried to mask my VM from EAC so I can run VRC but I can't figure out how to connect my GPU to a HDMI cable without it crashing so I think it's a lost cause because doing that is like a prerequisite to getting rid of virtual drivers which itself is a prerequisite and if my head is hurting from this yours must be too.
>>481213730 At 20 minutes he said they were anxious about hitting performance, then being extremely surprised they had so much headroom when the q3 devkit came out and thus added real-time shadows.
To me it sounds like the game will only look just okay with some shadows added on and maybe a slightly higher res.
>no talk about blade and sorcery leaving EA >only 1 post talking about the new batman game >20 posts debating furry vs trannies >20 posts image dumping from some tranny meetup This place is truly anything but vr GAMES
>>481228227 I posted about Blade and Sorcery in the previous thread but there's not much to say about the trailer besides the new rock golem enemy. I'll be posting some webms and giving my impressions when it actually releases.
I can stare into a monitor all day and i'm fine, but in VR for some reason after an hour my eyes just feel tired as if i was sitting in a dark looking at a monitor for 30 hours straight. What gives? Like when i try to watch a movie in VR i couldn't finish since my eyes just tired after an hour, but on a regular monitor it's not a problem at all.
>>481232036 Sounds about right, but feel free to give it a little wiggle to make it wider and see if it helps relieve the stress on eyes once you get them tired again. Can't say for sure if that's the root cause, but always good to have one possible thing off the list. Maybe also try dialing brightness down a bit?
If I want custom songs should I just get Beat Saber on steam and steamlink it to my quest? My router is decent enough and I hard wire my pc to it so there is minimal latency
>>481232659 the brightness already feels just barely enough with the 90nits which is max q3 can do I dunno, I think those eye drops could be a good thing to try, maybe the heat the hmd generates is drying my eyes out
>>481235607 there's a lot of insufferable people here that i dont like that i just ignore and move on. i fail to see that as a valid reason if he's respecting the social vibes and not throwing on his furfaggotry. very hypocritical
Gonna host some Catan in VRC at 9PM EU time, thats in 35 minutes! >>481248712 For the majority yes, some other games get's played, Pavlov on tuesdays, friday have a lobby of some game.
>>481248712 VR in general is just VRChat, since everything is either too niche to get off the ground, or run into the ground by retarded devs Meta fighting tooth and nail for a walled garden monopoly doesn't help either Because game devs live in fuhrerbunker tier echo chambers, they still haven't figured out that the key is making a quality flat game with VR support. instead they're just throwing money in a shredder, thinking their niche game in an ultra niche market will somehow by magic be a multi million dollar one hit wonder
The ONLY reason that VR can't get games is that devs don't know how to do cutscenes that take away cintrol from the player. There needs to be a genius of some sort who will figure it out someday and then nobody will bother with flat games the same way every fps game is a Doom clone.
Don't forget! This Friday at 7pm EST 1am CEST I will be hosting The Boys S4 weekly. Episodes 1-3 will be out this Friday with one episode each following week.
>>480531693 (Cross-thread) >>480538550 (Cross-thread) I hope you're still around anon. If the S1-3 + Gen V marathon were to happen next week what time works best for you? I can do any time and day after Monday.
>>481257462 Half life solved that problem 25 years ago. The real limitation is that you can't change the player's stance without it causing a disconnect from reality. GTA or Battlefield isn't possible without either making it a seated only game (retarded), having the player stand in vehicles (retarded), or forcing some kind of retarded standing to seated transition that will never work right.
Hot dogs horseshoes and hand grenades is the only game I keep coming back to in VR. Other games are just finish and uninstall for me and I'm guessing other too.
>>481263873 It has the most numerous guns modifiable gun mechanics by far than any other vr game. Its combat is shit yes. But I mostly play it for the shooting range.
>>481185423 No you stupid fucking braindead retard. 99% of shit like this that does not matter in the real world is only obsessed over by the microscopic tiny few who've got vendettas and drama. 90% of people care about their job and taxes and family and shit. 1% of people care about video game avatars. stop acting like a 13 year old
>>481257457 Same. I wonder if we'll see a revision 2 at some point next year. Given the rate that pimax shits out new SKUs, surely bigmeme has something in the pipeline.
>>481266594 I think the majority 1. do not feel strongly enough to bother taking any action at all 2. do not talk about it because it barely affects them
I think it's a very very small circle of a people who talk about it or care about it ever
>>481261696 Eh, I don't think the seated/standing thing is a big deal. Most people have a chair/couch/bed in their playspace, and with modern passthrough/mixed reality you could make it easy to find without taking the headset off. Wouldn't be as quick as hitting a button in a flat game of course, so you'd have to adjust the pacing to not have as many transitions, but the same goes for anything else VR, like manual reloading and weapon switching vs twitchy flat shooters.
>>481274693 I live in an extremely small room and had to make it as efficient as possible to have space for VR. I sleep on a mattress that I prop against the wall and I used my computer standing for several years before I had a headset, so I didn't have a chair anyway.
>>481249056 >>481254661 >>481255842 Two hours until someone won. last hour was just putting robber on other players ore tile, then ask for ore trade, lmao. was fun, thanks for playing.

>>481207178 This was a shocker to see. A world with blatant paywalling. I know it needs to be done though somehow. Since money would motivate better worlds to be made but hot damn
>>481235607 People should be very specific on why a kick is done. And in this case it should just be because they’re not anime. Tacking additional excuses and rules to selectively kick people will destroy the trust and eill make people less likely to follow the rules.
>>481295758 We kick people who have their dicks out in instances all the time. Ther’s /vrlg/ for people who wanna do that. A subset of /vrg/ and the correct place and time to have your tits out. Same with /vrfg/ where you can have your dog cock and fur out with no issues
Is the VR community an in-crowd? I'm a tourist I don't know anything about VRC, but it seems less public than it was before and afaik some of that lands on the VRC devs and how they (failed to?) manage the game
>>481298567 Yes the vrc devs fucked up when they gave people the ability to spawn into an empty invite only world of their choosing instead of the soulful public VR chat Hub world that kept people intermixing everytime they log in
>>481295758 When an anime logs off VRchat they just go back to their normal lives. They pick an avatar that they want to jack off too and it doesn't go deeper than that. Furries on the other hand have something called a "Fursona". They feel that they are trapped inside the human form, and that the animal persona, or fursona, is their true self. Some of them will under go drastic body modification to attempt to become more animal like in nature such as have hands and feet amputated to resemble hooves or paws. Their sexual proclivities also stray into deviance where all manner of bathroom play called "marking" and vore and other sub-human behavior is celebrated. If you join any of their communities even in curiosity, if you do not conform to verminhood or show willingness to denounce your humanity, you are seen as an outsider, or "skigger". Hostility for the very hand that feeds them, which permits their disgusting existence to be contained in the /trash/ thread. The dregs of civilization where they are forced to call home.
>>481269418 Delusional animals like yourself will continue to be kicked >>481295598 It really doesn't matter in the end, a kick on a furry is a kick on a furry.
>>481306386 Nope, only a furfag would be delusional enough to think you're in some kind of "silent majority". >>481306495 >Being furry is just a dress choice Wrong. It's a culture that infests everything it touches, and it goes against ours.

VERY convenient that the thing you were going to do anyways (get in flame wars and incite shit flinging drama in a community) just so happens to be the one thing that will save us all from the impending tide of evil at our doorstep. We're so so lucky you spend your life rageposting about furries here. You saved us. It's a miracle. Imagine if you had done something else, like go to school or have a job, we'd be defenseless and surely collapse.

Damn, rip. Thankfully, I have a 3d printer that can fill the gap until I decide to crush my nuts with buying and installing the stick itself for my right controller that has some crazy backlash issues.
Why do furries want to be here? Is /vrfg/ fucked or something? I can't imagine it being worse than here. Or do we only get the dregs that even the real furries don't want?
>>481307376 thanks for coming frens see you for shuumatsu train, spice wolf, and finishing thunderbolt fantasy on wednesday also we will be starting unironic gundam
>>481320891 the furries had to pay vrchat for something like that for sure. I wonder how it worked, I talked with a few people from different venues and they told me that tupper increased the cap of some worlds to 100 as "testing", but it went pretty bad and it would screw things up, like the videoplayer, sound, and other things.
>>481180606 Genesis behaves because when he first started showing up, I spammed votekick on him constantly, told other people to vote yes to kick him right in front of his face, and kicked him any time I had the controls. this is how we should treat every furry, including the established ones that nobody wants to do anything about.
>>481323496 this only works with furfags nobody knows yet and only in proper na instances every side instance and every eu is completely overrun by furfags pedos and randos

>>481334632 It (fixing random things around the house) is most of the reason to own a 3d printer. But it's also really handy for quick little replacements like this that let me put off doing more in depth projects.
>>481255963 Do we even know if it has VR, microsoft had to be forced into adding it to the last one. >>481264535 Wasn't he supposed to be adding better mod support, whatever happened to that?

>>481248712 You can and should still discuss other VR games here, the reason VRChat is discussed so much a combination of two things: Most VR games are either too short or too simple to keep a general thread alive by themselves and VRChat is easily the most popular and active VR game. It isn't even close. Look at these numbers from Steam two years ago.
>>481349053 get an attractive booth and join mute-friendly instances like anime or jong, get a feel about who is who and what people talk about, friend people give it some time, you will find it much easier to get into conversations once people get used to having you around
>>481349251 main reason that vrc and few ritual games are the only thing discussed is because zucc killed vr and everything is now standalone shit and vrg is not touching that garbage if you dont count the outcast slav clique over at vm that leaves you with vrc and sims and simfags have their own general
>>481349251 Isn't VRChat big enough to keep a general alive by itself? So why doesn't it have its own general, with everything else going in a thread about VR in general?
>>481352337 we tried that, the other "VR but no VRChat" general died from inactivity. VR isn't big enough to survive a general here while excluding its most popular game.
It would be like having a PS5 general but excluding the most popular PS5 game like... whatever games the PS5 has
>>481352337 >So why doesn't it have its own general This is our general lmao. It's already this one. The /vrg/ thread was started thanks to VRchat at the core thread #0001.
>>481352337 we've tried it unironically since 2018 i still have the shill memes i made for the non-vrchat general somewhere on an external literally just 5 of us posting ,forcing discussion and the shitposters laughing at us giving us pity bumps
I'm not suggesting a "no vrchat general", I'm suggesting a VR genral that's about vr in general and a VRChat general for the community discussion and events and avatar creation stuff that's specific to VRChat, without the other game lobbies. If someone comes to /vg/ for VR game discussion and they see THE VR general is all VRChat circlejerk, they're probably not gonna stick around, even if there's a /vrgg/. Even worse, having nobody on 4chan to discuss and play VR games with, they'll eventually stop playing VR.
>>481353991 Oh boy! It's time for /vrgg/ for the 3rd time! I can't wait for one retarded european to samefag repeatedly over and over to try desperately to keep his general alive!
>>481353991 >I'm suggesting a VR genral that's about vr in general
It's been tried. It dies without vrchat discussion.
>If someone comes to /vg/ for VR game discussion and they see THE VR general is all VRChat circlejerk, they're probably not gonna stick around, even if there's a /vrgg/.
You're suggesting two generals - /vrg/ for discussing all VR games, including vrchat - /vrchat/ for only discussing vrchat
>I'm not suggesting a "no vrchat general",
then you don't need a /vrchat/ because unless you tell people to leave /vrg/ will continue to look like it does right now.
>Even worse, having nobody on 4chan to discuss and play VR games with, they'll eventually stop playing VR.
Most people who play VR games ALSO play vrchat. You wanna play pavlov with guys from 4chan, guess what game those guys are playing when they just want to shoot the shit instead of each other?
I got a Quest 2 this weekend because I thought fuck it, why not, it's cheap at least. It's actually way better than I expected, and that's even just with the most affordable basic headset on the market. The higher end ones must be really impressive. I waited years and years to make sure I only bought a VR set once they were good and affordable, and that bar is certainly clear now.
Trouble is... The games. Most of these games are pretty gimmicky and shallow, but they are still charging full prices. The market was always going to be a niche, it's just annoying because there's mad potential here. Why are there only like, two mech games for VR, for example? Why aren't there tons of flight sim, starship pilot, cockpit switch flickan, joystick wagglan computer voice alertan games like that? I dunno bros, I just feel conflicted that I am so impressed with the tech, but so far the most fun I've had with the actual games is a bow and arrow minigame in a tech demo.
Hopefully shit like HL: Alyx will get a nice discount on the steam sale and I can pick up a few more "serious" games, but it just doesn't seem like there's a lot out there.
Also please tell me what games are made for playing sat down because I'm a lazy fuck, I don't need games to be exhausting
This thread is pretty funny. Imma be real with you guys- if you are wearing a fucking 12 year old girl pedo hentai character as an avatar, you have no right to be bitching about furries.
>>481353991 we tried this already, vrc is the main hangout spot after playing any vr games. You have to understand that thread might go slower and that's fine, can't be on-topic all the time. If you really care for vr, then start showing to the lobbies that appear here, is that simple. Having a vrc only general will be a gossipping thread but worse than it is now.
>>481361883 Like the old adage goes, there are good games, and then there are VR games. The best sit down games are the driving sims, but they need a wheel to really appreciate them. The good news is that VR is actually the best way to play driving games though.
You could probably play most VRFPS standing up, but here's a list of actual games: Walkabout mini golf walking dead saints and sinners Into the radius Boneworks
There's a few mech games for VR; with some more coming soon vox machinae underdogs uh A few more in development...
>>481353991 Splitting the generals would be worse for both. /vrc/ would be a blue board trash thread, anyone who wants /trash/ already uses /trash/ while those who don't can at least use this thread to avoid some of it. /vrg/ without VRChat can't keep the post count up on /vg/. /vrg/ already struggles, the spin offs didn't even come close and /vg/ is even faster now with all the new gachas and shitty MMO expansions.
The only possible improvement would be a link in the OP to /vm/ so newfags realize there's a sister thread there. It's the spiritual successor to /vrgg/ on a board where it can survive.
Friendly reminder from another vr community that the drama is always inorganic and started by an outsider who got yeeted. They use the cloak of anonymity to pretend to be concerned insiders. They tried it with our community but we were to stubborn and grumpy.
>>481353226 /vg/ is the fastest it's ever been and it's going to get worse in the next couple of months because of the xiv expansion We need every post we can get including the vrchat ones
Has anyone really contemplated that the death of /vrg/ is coming, and soon? We're reaching the point where we won't be able to make a full thread without being kicked off the board, and it's going to get worse from there
>>481361883 Big devs abandoned the medium and smaller devs are very lazy. Flat game ports are your best options if you want something with any depth. It's already a conclusion that Asetto Corsa and MS Flight Sim are better than any native VR driving or flying sims. Look at Mechwarrior 5 and its VR mod if you want anything decent in the giant robot battles department. It's great with mods like YAML and vonbiomes.
Flat game ports can't make up for the lack of decent melee fighting games or an immersive sim with actual motion based climbing. If you are expecting the medium to be taken advantage of to its fullest stay away.
>>481366990 I've thought on it some I think we will be okay for now. For later, yeah, maybe /vm/ or something. Our activity hasn't decreased that much, but /vg/ is fast and only getting faster. There are more gacha generals now than in 2018. /Xivg/ is also much faster than it was. And blue archive exists now.
>>481366990 We need to fully accept the furries if we don't want to end up on /vm/. Even the Saturday meetups are just dead. Most people don't care about furries anyway except for vocal minority who seethes and shits up the thread.
>>481361883 > what games are made for playing sat down Max Mustard, it's a bing bing wahoo jump and run. Currently on sale for 3 dollars or whatever if you apply R90-96EE80. Thanks for reading my ad.
>>481367417 stfu furry what we need is actual VR games and good PC vr headsets if we played quest games and this was a quest vr community then we'd be bumpin non-stop but we're not children
Just about every game can be played sitting down, they usually have a seated option in settings. The best VR games are good flat games with a VR mod, port or mode, of which there are quite a lot of. https://github.com/RototRobot/VRMods-List/blob/gh-pages/index.md There's also ports you can play directly on the Quest. Many official VR ports/modes are better with mods as well, so research before playing. You can also use VR inhectirs to play basically any game in VR somewhat, and you can use the headset for other stuff like watching 3D movies in a virtual theater.
>>481367417 Lmao We hit 80 at the meetup this Saturday and still had side rooms The meetups are still very very healthy to the point where we don't fit in one world Sorry bro, no room for you guys, stick to vrfg
>>481369692 Not what I meant to imply. It's not randos, it's ex-vrg anons. We were all warned about the consequences of shitcord. I can't believe I used to advocate for it back in the day. It's gone from the cope of "we still post in the thread, it's just an extension of the general!" to "we aren't part of the general and we don't care"
>>481353991 Go ahead, do it. Ignore every single person telling you how it's failed every single time in the past. Surely this time will be different. Now that it's almost impossible for any non-gacha thread to survive this board and we're constantly hitting page 9, clearly a thread split is on the same board is what is needed.
>>481370314 Well that's just the purpose. The purpose is to create two threads that can't survive nu-/vg/. Once you realize that, the rest makes sense.
>>481366990 It'll be fine. There are many other smaller generals that survive and are also bitching about the state of /vg/. Maybe the board will get more pages or w/e like soon last time it started getting this bad.
>>481369951 Shitcord is inevitable in a social community like this. If we didn't start it back in 2018 it would have instead been started in 2019, or 2020, etc. But yes I'd say it's pretty obvious a lot of these ex-vrg people that are still in the discords and still join VRChat instances don't use the thread at all anymore and does not care.
>>481369951 The discords are weaker than they've ever been. It's true that a lot of people don't come to this thread, though. This thread has a very angry and negative tone, to be honest. You can use 4chan and be a 4channer but not come to this thread. Many use the site but don't come here.
>>481369515 Post what? As soon as some VRC event happens, then thread get flooded with photos, and the shitters complain. When there is nothig to talk about shitters complain. When people play fun vr games and post lobbies shitters complain.
This is why all the VR generals suck. They're all exclusively about multiplayer shit, which forms communities that mingle in discords. I just want a place to discuss singleplayer VR games and VR game design and VR technology for god's sake.
>>481371286 >I just want a place to discuss singleplayer VR games and VR game design and VR technology for god's sake. We do do that. If you want a thread that ONLY talks about that, then go do >>481370314 and let us know how the ghost town treats you.
>>481371286 This thread discusses technology more than anything else. Vrchat is only discussed when there's an event going on. I see mostly tech chat here during the days.
>>481370862 Unironically true The R-Cord was the "main"cord for a long time. After that died, nothing really took it's place. Everyone kind of just splintered off into their own cliques.
>>481371201 That's true, but I would argue that those who post photos are either a small amount of individuals, or only come here when they have photos to post, otherwise I don't think the thread would be so dead during these times. I could be wrong. When lobbies are posted, the pool of anons who show up to them is pretty small, no? (besides the meme shooty games)
>>481372954 Same. When one of the discords got deleted I didn't rejoin. If something is worth saying it's worth posting in the thread. If I want to speak to someone specific I talk to them ingame or add them on Steam, which we all already use anyway. I would delete discord if VR game devs didn't all use it for patch notes, roadmaps and other information.
>>481370862 A few bad apples ruin the bunch, after all. While this is anonymous, on anything social you have a name attached, and when you have people still playing it specifically to undermine anyone and everyone, you end up avoiding the thread because you either don't want to piss someone off or you don't want to see who you pissed off.
>>481374592 That too. I've also noticed game mods or important modding info is starting to be gated behind discord. Old and buggy version on Nexus, 'beta' version with the fixes on discord.
>>481374047 Not that anon but that one's not a very good example since the head of it is a known big dramafag doomer. But I do agree with OP to ignore shit stirrers.
>>481375095 >>481370862 Why are you concerned if some shit stirrer is posting vitriol in the thread? It's anonymous and it's best to develop the wherewithal to just read the positive ones and reply to the positive posts.
Any length of time using 4chan should have taught people to ignore and not feed the trolls and just enjoy the vibes from the good posts. 4chanX even allows filters if it becomes quite bad.
>>481376437 >Why are you concerned bro? It's well known that people use discord to brigade threads to their liking and people who value truth should point it out whenever they see it.
>>481376437 Death by a thousand cuts, and if the only thing is vitriol people usually stop wanting to contribute. To contribute you're usually having to contribute with a name anyways, at least when it comes to the social aspect.
>>481376960 I'm probably too stupid to see that people use discord for it, and I think it might be a good thing.
>>481376960 Attention is the currency in any social platform and that includes 4chan. The thread will be filled with things we continue to reply to. Hence it is paramount to only reply to the positive posts to promote positive vibes
>>481377154 Again why look at a single person samefagging vitriol in the thread as something that should affect you as a channer. Don’t reply to it, ignore it heck filter it.
This is a place that can post with next to no rules. We should develop tolerance and the ability to ignore shitters. That’s the point else you can’t really stay or say you’re a channer. If a single troll can bring you aaay from posting here and leaving your good friends behind.
i’m posting here and you’re probably a friend of mine. Please don’t leave me I’ll be here to reply at your cringe jokes and make you laugh in turn.
Hi, Monday Chess + Mahjong will be at 21:30CEST/19:30UTC (~2h20 from now) as usual As usual we will start with 1h of chess followed by mahjong at 22:30CEST/20:30UTC (~3h20 from now)
>>481382518 I just wish you didn't have to load 100mb of javascript, make an account, and click through a bunch of gay rules shit just to read text patch notes and a link to a download in some stupid pin.
Somewhere in my project backlog, I want to use one of the discord archiver tools to make a nitter/invidious-style frontend, and solve the "this could've been a .html file" problem.
>>481392297 Oh, you meant that distant horizons can now be used with shaders at the same time. Very nice I will have to give it a try. Last I checked distant horizons performance in vr was still shit.
>>481395550 >bliss shaders interesting, never heard of that one. I'd be interested to hear how well it performs in vr. So far the only shaders I've found that can get a satisfactory framerate in vr were complimentary unbound and bsl
Is anyone else having issues uploading images on the phone?? Ive been using 4chan on the phone for a while and it isnt working.. I wanna post my avatar oc I drew but it sucks because 4chan on phone isnt super good
God damn, rave reviews for the quest pro. It was so easy to link through my router and just play games, the dock thing is convinient to never have to remember if stuff is on charge and it worked seamlessly through the router i got through my provider. i'm thinking vrgaming is back
>>481411356 It's so fucking sad that online is dead for this game and the singleplayer portion sucks. Almost full lobbies are amazing with mechs of all sizes having a role on the battlefield rather than hoppers dominating. At least I have modded Mechwarrior for co-oping with my one friend who cares.
>>481410536 Posting images from my phone has been blocked in my area for almost a year. What did Australians do? And for most of the last week I always get >please wait a while before making a post Only get that on /vg/
Not sure if it counts as vr but has anyone tried out ar glasses? I'm having surgery and will be immobile for a bit so I want to do the full matrix setup in bed with my steam deck.
I tried the viture one glasses but wasn't wild about them. Blurry no matter how much I fiddled with them. I've looked at other brands but it seems like the tech is still gimmicky and I swear every review sounds like a shill. Has anyone here had a good experience with them?
for you vrc creators, is there any reason i should update to blender 4.x (or w/e the current version is). ive been using 2.8 for the past 2 years and i know where everything is which is nice. i opened v4 a second ago and was instantly confused by them moving everything around so i closed it and am wondering if its even worth updating.
>>481419127 ar glasses are shit, steam deck is not powerfull enough, get quest 2 3 or pico 4, connect to your pc through wifi, hang around in vrchat as a cripple or meme avatars whole day.
>>481419614 sorry i meant specifically like using it just as a display and playing stuff on my deck (no actual vr games, just something like elden ring). I have an old samsung odyssey I was going to use as a virtual desktop but couldn't get it hooked up properly, so ar glasses seemed like a simpler option
>>481419127 I've heard the nreal glasses are ok and appear as a regular hdmi monitor with steam deck or whatever, but I didn't bite the bullet and actually try them myself. If you already have a decent tv on the wall you could try the prism glasses meme first, cheaper.
Are the mods for vivecraft in the rentry OP a decent place to start if you've never played Minecraft? I don't mind some QoL stuff but any major overhauls will be lost on me unless the base thing they're replacing is really bad or something
In Hawaii, an undercover DEA agent and her civilian friend stumble upon a drug trafficking operation, and have to enlist the help of all their colleagues/friends to go after the vicious drug kingpin.
>>481422507 IMO there aren't any essential QOL mods you need, besides vivecraft itself and its dependencies. There are some common performance mods like sodium that might help but I wouldn't bother unless you actually have performance issues (which are generally caused by the autism overhaul mods in the first place).
>>481420569 Thanks man! Luckily its not anything super invasive.
>>481421245 nreal are the ones I see the most about so I might still try as long as I can return them. No tv for me but i forgot about those prism glasses, maybe I could rig some kind of unholy setup with them lol
>>481419127 If the glasses were blurry for you no matter what then your eyes are shit and you either need custom lenses for the glasses or you need to get ar glasses which have a vision correction feature built in (rokid max has this feature and are the glasses I have, viture pro is a recent release that also has this feature). You're not gonna get a "full matrix setup" since it's just a screen glued in front of your eyes but they're great for playing games in bed or on a plane or wherever else you wish you had a bigger screen.
>>481425023 I do have shit eyes but the viture ones I got had the vision correction and to their credit it did mostly work. But no matter what I did one of the screen edges would be blurry. I have a wide ass PPD though (71) so that may have been the issue since the glasses were kinda small. But yea like you said I just want to lie flat down in bed or similar
>>481349251 >Tfw love VR but just do not give a shit about VRChat even with almost all my friends obsessed with it. I almost wish I could get what the degenerates do out of it.
>>481413379 reminder that there is settlers of quatar in 5 seconds. Running a few minutes late sorry. Will give maybe 10 or so minutes after starting the instance for joiners, since can't join after game has already started. I'll post the world link when it's up
>>481424439 thanks was driving so couldn't reply i got the feeling the stuff in the OP was for multiplayer, I'll check out the sodium thing I don't know shit about minecraft is performance in VR really going to be an issue if I don't load it up with a bunch of shaders? i've got a 4070ti
Why does vrchat suck so much ass, why isnt there a better alternative. Debating pulling out $75k from my MMA and going broke to just make another vr service and introduce a little bit of competition.
>>481437614 the problem youll have is that hosting the amount of shit that vrchat has costs an astronomical amount of money, each player can have multiple gigs worth of data associated with their account and they have to store that shit forever
>>481438090 Ive thought about a way around this, well somewhat. Any service either needs to make money from upfront costs, ads or subscription.
VRChat makes money off of VRC+ which is fine and vastly preferable to having to pay to use VRC or running ads ingame (holy shit imagine how awful it would be to be talking to your friends and an unskippable burger king ad blocks your vision for 30 seconds).
However I think that maybe I figured a way to integrate a few different elements of the three in a way that doesnt harm the user experience. If working in business has taught me anything though it is that if you have a "crazy original plan" chances are it hasnt been done before for a reason.
Idk I just think so many things in the virtual reality landscape can be improved on and I want to do something about it >~>
>>481439537 No one buys VRC+ or VRchat bucks. All of VRChat's funding is from investors who are betting on the platform having millions of users by 2027.
>>481437614 Because it's been money sink propped up by investors for most of it's life and probably still is. You'll be throwing your money away if you try to make a VRChat clone. Meta could do it but since you don't have meta resources you shouldn't waste your time and money trying to compete directly with the market leader. Better to make a good multiplayer game that people can incidentally hang out in and then maybe later or in a sequel you can pivot to compete more directly with VRChat. It's entirely possible to do and I think VR players do want more games like that, see Gorilla Tag for what can be possible.
>>481437614 >Debating pulling out $75k from my MMA and going broke to just make another vr service and introduce a little bit of competition. Can you just give your money to me instead of wasting it?

krial danny buxton is a divorced criminal.png750x480

>>481486745 I liked recroom, the games are actually quite fluid and fun compared to vrchat. Far, FAR too many children alas. Also the pc version has some gorgeous lighting

>>481486464 >Debating pulling out $75k from my MMA and going broke to just make another vr service and introduce a little bit of competition. >it's another dunning kruger episode
NTA, but 75k is nothing if you have to hire the workforce. What are you going to do? Hire 2-3 pajets and make them work for 2-3 months? You really think that you will get even a barely working product? And even if a miracle of monkey typing on a keyboard happens, how are you going to attract users? The main terminally online tranny and furry audiences are already covered.
>>481437614 Just make a better pavlov. Holy shit. Just make a multiplayer game people actually want and isn't made by a retard like dave. Get money. Then build it into a vrchat killer.
Unless you've made a multiplayer game before saying "I'm going to make a vrchat killer as my first game" is the current year equivalent to saying "I'm going to make a WoW killer as my first video game"
>>481496635 >I have never even rendered a triangle >but I'm sure I will make a vrchat killer because I'm just that smart You are retarded beyond belief.
>>481496530 >Have you ever made a game? Sadly, yes
>released 7 games in total >in a team, not as a one-man-army >2 of those were done with kickstarter >kickstarter money was only fraction of the final cost (+500k) >rest came from a publisher >2 of those where multiplayer games >1 of them a shitty RTS game
tl;dr I know nothing of game making But you know better and surely 75k will be more than enough for you to make a VRChat competitor in <current year>. Looking forward to play it.
>>481504426 People here use it all the time; I think it's just using idle GPU. Try it while playing a game. RVC works fine on my 3090 while I'm running VRC
>>481500149 >surely 75k will be more than enough i'm also saying vrchat killer can't be done 1MA as a first game and i was not even going to address the budget
>>481504725 The only way to make 75K work is if you make the game yourself, and the money is purely used for living costs, and maybe a bit of hardware for hosting/testing.
>>481504525 How much of a hit to VRC are you getting? A 68 player instance is already dropping my FPS down to the 30s sucking down 386watt on the 3090 with nothing else running and I'm not even super-sampling. Somethings gonna give either VRC or RVC, there simply isn't enough resources to go around.
>>481504426 >>481504983 RVC is using vram so if you crank your avatar hider up you can get decent performance while using RVC and vrchat. I used to run RVC while in vrchat. That said, nowadays I run RVC on my spare computer while I run VR on my main rig.
>>481510197 Custom maps are all made low res so it can run on Q2 I imagine. It was this one https://mod.io/g/pavlov/m/mirage-quest Here's what the latest official one looks like. Render res is very decent and still plenty of performance overhead too.

>>481515152 P.S. having looked at HAELE 3D Portrait Studio Lite's page it's not even a worthwhile tool, better off generating Redguards in Skyrim for your unlimited nigger simulator. I have no idea what you'd gain from using a tool like this in VR besides the gimmick of seeing these ugly mugs up close.
>>481514991 if you want to make any sense out of it, then lowest, lowest, lowest you can go is Logitech Driving Force GT. Make sure it still works with latest operating systems though, cannot guarantee you that, but DFGT is the cheapest thing that more or less works like a 'real' wheel - as in, it has FFB, it behaves like any other wheel except slower and generally worse. I'd recommend saving up for something new, but if you're in a financial situation that restricts you to $100 and you really want to give it a shot, DFGT should do.
If you can, hunt for a T300 or G27/G29, both can be found way below their sticker price, cheap T300 will probably come with trash plastic 2-pedal board unfortunately.
dfgt actually has one single upside over even g27/g29, it doesn't have this nasty deadzone as you wiggle it around gently
>>481521656 It is Pavlov day! A few more custom guns have been added since last week. >3 pistols that are minor variations of the m9 >AK74m without grenade launcher that can buy a unique grip and bayonet >M16A3 which is full auto but has more recoil than the M4
>>481515152 >>481516124 >>481516974 >>481518113 >Masternoid Great. The depth works well in VR and the soundtrack gets you hyped. >Subside Seemed neat, I don't think I'd buy something like this but the demo is worth trying. The graphics are very nice, swimming mechanics decent enough and the small level has some stuff to collect. >Frenzy Blood This felt like a fever dream. Is this the voice of Agent 47 I'm hearing? Total miscast because he's way too monotone. The graphics are good and the level looked great. The level is clearly an asset as it's jarringly high quality compared to the gameplay but if it's been modified it's been done well. Grabbing mechnics were clunky as hell for me but the shooting was servicable. Not sure what to make of the enemies, half of the ones with guns never shot at me and most barely even seemed hostile. Maybe it was supposed to be tied to the santity mechanic? Mine wouldn't restore but when it was empty it did have a cool interaction with the trenchcoat inventory mechanic. I knew the dev was Russian before I checked. Has a bizarre tone that I've seen in other Russian games.
good evening /vrg/! how is everyone tonight? just finished boneworks for a second time and it was still really good. i have a better GPU now so it ran a lot smoother and i was able to appreciate the maps more (before i had to run with my head down on the bigger ones lol) after watching a video on the story of the game i was able to appreciate it more although it's still retarded as fuck lol, and the lobby never fails to make me feel kinda emotional, something something liminal zoomer etc. it makes me sad how much they fucked it up with bonelab though, it has none of the atmosphere of the original, which is something i don't really see talked about enough is it bad that i prefer the gameplay of BW to HL:Alyx?
Some guy is offering me a Quest 2 in exchange for the headphones I'm selling. Never used anything VR related in my life, so I kinda want to try it out, but I have some questions. Can I/do I need to wear glasses with it? How hard is it to pirate games for it? Am I limited to oculus games only? I'm pretty sure my pc isn't good enough to do anything with it (1050Ti)
>>481540452 >before i had to run with my head down on the bigger ones lol You still have to do that even with 4090 in the room where rain hits the glass celling. >is it bad that i prefer the gameplay of BW to HL:Alyx? Both are trash.
>>481540828 quest 2 is still pretty solid, piracy is easy. you still could play some lighter pc games too at reduced resolution. All you need is a good router
>>481540828 >Can I/do I need to wear glasses with it If you need glasses in real life then you're going to want to either wear glasses or use lense inserts >How hard is it to pirate games for it? easy >Am I limited to oculus games only? No, you can connect it to your pc >I'm pretty sure my pc isn't good enough to do anything with it (1050Ti) might be hard then
>>481541070 >You still have to do that even with 4090 in the room where rain hits the glass celling. i didn't have to look down but my resolution dipped a lot there, why does it do that? >Both are trash. never change /v/ oh wait wrong board
