I will have to remind you that Pico trackers are an amazing value product.

The tracking is mostly correct, I was touching my knees when sitting down, as you can see on the webm.
Tracking has a slight but noticable delay, maybe it's less on P4Ultra. Sometimes in unconventional poses the tracking model imposes some constraints on your legs, trying to remain "normal" while you'd do weird feet movements. For example it doesn't want to cross the legs when laying down on a side, or move them too forward when laying down on the side.
The feet tracking swims a bit, it's not in exact position when standing. From what I seen and experienced it looks way better from 3rd person view than first.

The hip sway tracks decently even with a 2 set of ankle trackers.

In my opinion: it's a pretty good tracking solution for 60 euro, costs less than a tracker or slime set, easy to wear, basically infinite battery life and almost instant initial calibration. Pico chads stay winning (among wireless headsets).

But wireless compression SUCKS and I will not stop using my display port cable. Do not trust compressionlet opinions.

Trackers will not work without the Pico software, contrary to quest, where you have multiple possibilities, some free, some not.
And this goes out the window once you bring in REAL pcvr headsets.

Eh, for a cheap entry level fbt, 2 trackers are good enough. The best part about the trackers is that you dont need to worry about banging them when sitting down on the floor or whatnot, they are small,f flush and it feels like you're wearing noting at all. Great advantage over slimes or vive trackers in this regard. And you dont need to do any playspace calibration dances or anything, at the start of the session you just look straight, look down and you're done.
Still I like the accuracy and immediateness of Vive trackers more

Its humanoid skelleton estimation model which uses ground level, hmd absolute position, hand positions and from time to time optically corrected ankle imu data. No. Sadly not. The fbt mode relies mostly on IMU feet data and sometimes corrects drift.

You can use them in fully 6DoF tracked mode, but that drastically reduces battery life and doesn't work for feet anyway because they're mostly occluded. Still better than slimes.

It being a locked system is more of a problem of non lighthouse hmd + controller tracking being closed system to begin with (quest, pico, vive, ...).
Since as soon as you try to get something that is not part of that closed system, you are unable to use it to its full potential and need a lot of calibration steps and potential drifting (slime, vut on non vive, lighthouse tranckers on non lighthouse hmds, ...)
Not even sure if I'd call a tracker than can be used theorically with any hmd an open system either. Like the vive ultimate you can use it with any hmd after heavy calibration, but you are fully dependent on vive's software and can't access the camera's data

Turn down textures too. CPU is the important bottleneck at 20+ players as all the poorly optimised maps, mods and sections of code compound. There's nothing you can do other than get a better CPU to bruteforce it.
The server hasn't handled it too badly all things considered. Years ago the /vrg/ world war was a slideshow for everyone once the two teams started shooting.

Worst cpu frametimes Ive got with my 5800x3d and 3080 yesterday were 8 ms. And overrall my fps was 90. Cant say anything about gpu frametimes because quad views foveation breaks the gpu frametimes counter. I keep my middle 90% of the screen as sharp as if Im running at 3500x3500 per eye with perifery at 0.1 scale. Saves me 60% of pixels and is barely noticable.

I could run pavlov at 3500x3500 without foveation but it runs out of 12 gigs of vram pretty quickly.>>497758991

Oh, sometimes I forget it's a VR port of a flat game. You have to fix the settings to enable manual reloads, smooth loco and such. But it plays really well, it's based on swings so you can't wiggle the melee. You can also melee enemies with your gun. Knocking an enemy out with the pistol and finish him off with a few headshot when he's down feels really good.
Dead Effect 2 VR on steam, goes on sale for 7-8€ often.

You at least want a Wifi 6 router, 6E helps avoid interference so you can push higher bitrates more consistently though.
Steam Link is nice for Quest Pro because of foveated encoding, plus it's free, so I'd start with that over Virtual Desktop.

Depending on your wireless setup, wired can be little more consistent and slightly lower latency, but neither of those is really an issue in VRC, You're streaming encoded video from your PC either way, and you're stuck with the official Link software if you do want to play wired. I don't see much of a reason to go wired over wireless when a relatively inexpensive Wifi 6 router has been working fine for me.
Pretty sure you can't pull enough power off a USB port to keep the headset charged either, although there are ways to fix that. Easier to just run a power bank or have two to swap between if you stay on for really long sessions.

Frenzies is out in F2P early access on Quest and right now it's largely whatever. Having no less than 10 possible gestures on each hand with Oculus controllers is nice but largely serves no purpose outside flipping bots off (there was nobody online when I tried) and you'll be dual wielding anyway. Body IK is absolutely abyssmal with your torso just flipping around like crazy but that is also mostly whatever since the holster generally stays in place. It runs well and looks pretty good, HyperDash vibes all around and you even get a dash button on cooldown. Now for the guns and game itself and oh boy.
Guns look, sound and feel different enough for any playstyle but you get floating reticles so no actual aiming needed, just point and click plus reloads are done with just slapping the floating magazine. It feels like bad mismatch of HyperDash, Breachers and wave shooter. Also some guns definitely feel like too much of meme peashooters. Shooting itself is fine, no weird hit detection or anything but definitely not as fun as arena shooter should be.
Gamemodes are decent, deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag variant, capture and hold pig and control variant, standard arena fare but every public match will basically force you to go through all 5 in single sitting.
Arenas are abstract and funky but honestly they feel like some cheap laser tag knockoff layout wise, it's either just some random platforms and pillars or corridor.
Lots of player and gun customisation options.
TL;DR - it's free, gamemodes are pretty fun and fragging bots is OK but IK, maps and guns mechanics need to stay in the oven much longer.

Speaking of slop, Into Black dropped pretty much out of nowhere on Quest store. It's clear case of "we have DRG at home" and pretty good one at that. All classic DRG stuff like mining, shooting flares, upgrading your stuff and fighting bugs is there.
Unlike DRG this has actual story campaign, usual resource runs in randomly generated caves and all of that with 4 player coop and 5 difficulty levels. So far so good. VR interactions are pretty solid, nothing revolutionary but no jank. Crafting and upgrading is the usual "find blueprint, collect resources" loop and while there isn't any rock digging there are underwater sections.
The one more thing here is optional PvPvE extraction shooter mode for 12 players that works pretty much the same like normal levels but with limited extracts and shrinking storm zone.
Graphics are alright, apparently there's dynamic shadows and better textures on Quest 3. Scratches the DRG itch nicely and campaign plus extraction mode gives it little bit of extra longevity.

Also, Pico 4 or Index is the best for VRChat, Pico 4 has good woering trackers that are a fraction od the price of HTC pucks, but Index has lighthouses, that HTC pucks work with, that are supreme to other tracking solutions. Look at both and let your wallet decide.
