It should be in first person view, and you are an Hero or Officer on the battlefield.
Control of your forces are done on a tablet you bring out for troop movement. You partake in the battles / fight bosses on the map etc.

I wish. Anyway just as an aside the tundra set of avatars got an update but the retardmode list doesn't have the update in it. I'm just about to go to work but I'll update it when I get back. If you're going to compile a new list, use the updated version rather than the retard mode one so there aren't conflicts. For people with mods already you need to delete the .manifest file when you're pasting a new mod into the appdata folder. This doesn't break anything and will just be remade when you launch the game so if you're dumping a huge set of compiled mods into there you can just delete all of the .manifest files and be fine. Also for new players you'll need to do both of the big anomaly levels to get the arm mounted bodylog which someone can just take you to. Golden city doesn't have a bodymall so make sure you have your favourites set and your bodylog or just be in the avatar you want before you go to that map.

is an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U mini pc just not good enough to do PCVR with quest 3 or do I have something configured wrong? I have it hooked up to a RTX 3060 with an egpu adapter. My setup is all fucked up and weird, there are wires everywhere and i use the built in wifi on the minipc to connect it to my headset and have a lan cable connected to the router. It worked well for Quest 2 at least, everything felt smooth and playable, but since I started trying it out with a Quest 3 everything runs like shit. I see a lot of stutters and warping even with older vr games that require lower specs like Serious Sam and Into the Radius. Maybe I just didn't notice how it was on the quest 2 since it had a lower resolution? Please don't tell me I have to upgrade my setup again. Playing the standalone versions of some games on Quest 3 actually is better than trying to run it on PCVR , at least I don't have to spend hours trying to set things up.

If you're having issues with games that worked fine on the Quest 2, I don't think CPU is the problem, although it's definitely not going to hold up well for more CPU heavy stuff.
3060 is kinda weak for a higher resolution headset, plus VRAM could be an issue too if it's an 8GB card. I think lower spec stuff would still be playable though.
Built-in Wi-fi might be causing some issues too, I noticed issues on the cheap dedicated router I saw using when I went from a Quest 2 to 3.
Any sort of performance metrics for game peformance or streaming would help narrow it down more. You can see frametimes in SteamVR, plus fpsVR and XSOverlay have them split by CPU and GPU. Both Virtual Desktop and Steam Link have ways to show your streaming performance too.

Quest 3 at 100% resolution and 90hz will strain a 3060 in some games and require lower settings in many others.
5700U is weak and surely a bottleneck for VR.
No idea what the wifi is like on a miniPC but it's far from an ideal setup.

You need to figure out what's causing the problem, whether it's the game dropping frames or the wireless stream.
Virtual desktop will show you the latency for each.
If you're using airlink you can enable the performance HUD in the debug tool in Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics.
SteamVR has it's own performance overlay too if you're using Steamlink.

Sounds like the GPU being too weak to push Quest 3 resolution at 90Hz assuming these are games you didn't have issues with on Quest 2.
I'd rather deal with lower framerates than warping, so I've always disabled reprojection/smoothing/ASW.
Like the other anon said, definitely look into whether it's dropped frames or stream issues. Should be easy to start up a game that was giving you issues and check performance, ideally one that worked fine with your Quest 2.
Also, dropping render resolution for PCVR stuff should at least help with the stuttering while you're trying to chase down the cause.

Convergence was the only one that came to mind. Now, I can't say for sure anymore. All the games on vr section of Steam Fes were incredibly grim. Only Voxel Project showed potential on the tiny. tmy, tiny microscopic glimmer of hope the dev gets ambitious and makes the spiritual successor to pre-Jagex Ace of Spades. I've been enjoying Subside, even though the entire "gameplay' is just easter egg hunts underwater. It looks really nice, and the swimming movement is satisfying. If you play the demo and think "yeah I could enjoy another 5 hours of this in more environments" it's probably worth it imo.

After contacting Zenni again I got someone from their "Online Reputation Team" who they offered to replace the lenses for free.
I'm going to believe that shitting on them on social media is what did the trick.
They also clarified that their Quest3 lenses do in fact come with a full 1 year warranty, despite their website saying nothing of the sort.

Played a rythm game via Air Link because I was curious how bad it would be.
Didn't use any ingame offset to counter latency, ended up with +3/4ms average. My perfect hit accuracy was the same around 60% on medium level songs.
Most aggravating was microstutters when packet loss happens but not enough to ruin the experience. Beat some of my old PBs as well.
I dunno what they use for their extrapolation algorithm for hand movement but it's cracked and really damn good. VD fucking sucks for low latency gamen in comparison.

Via USB cable I get between -2 to 0ms but I run the game at 120hz and it feels like native. I believe the encode/transmit/decode is like 4-4-5 or something with h264 @ 150mbps I use. I'm just as surprised as yourself because when I tried with VD last year I'd get like +16ms minimum with the ingame stats.

There should have been an OFFICIAL overflow instance, which turns into instance #2 and people spend the night hopping between the two to see friends and it essentially ends up being 1 instance that just has a small 20 second wait to load into the other side of the instance because the community is split fairly evenly between the two so theres always room to move to the other at will.

Another slop, Infinite Inside. I had to rearrange my room for this one although it has seated mode too but that's no fun. Marvel at my fancy carpet.

It's mixed reality puzzle/exploration game with nice artstyle, cool music and progressively harder spatial puzzles. You travel between passthrough keystone where you assemble and place puzzle pieces and VR impossible spaces where you collect them. Movement is teleportation points based but that works fine for this type of game.

It's not super hard but it has plenty small puzzles to solve, puzzle pieces to find and it plays well. If you like this type of game it's definitely worth checking out.

Bonelab has little proper boneworks-like content, instead it has a million dumb ass props and it feels like a whole bunch of nothing - but it really, really comes to life in multiplayer. When you're playing alone, you're not exactly excited about being able to spawn a trash can of a 2x2m pillow fort wall, but online, it becomes a whole new thing, endless possibilities, free interpretation. Build a fort, put together an arena, spawn it on someone's head, do anything, bonelab is not very impressive in SP because SP is supposed to bring you context, but it's super nice in MP because you're the one choosing the direction.

I feel like the whole point of this game from day one was to add multiplayer and turn it into a VR gmod, and it's the reason why fusion is fitting so well, it feels so well-made, and is so insanely performant.

unless you're in a financial situation where it makes a difference to you, please stop torturing yourself with russian pirate sites and just go for steam version. it's really not that much, and objectively speaking, this game is so full of little things that 40eur doesn't seem unreasonable for the amount of effort put into setting up this kind of a platform

I think you get an avatar selector ball on your arm relatively early on, after initial tutorial levels. Not 100% sure if that allows you to use any imported avatar, but if you already have files, you can just play through it and see for yourself, you'll get avatar ball in an hour or two iirc.

But maybe you should just go ahead and beat the game if you like it enough, it's plenty fun, it introduces you to various gameplay bits, and finding all of those props to be able to spawn them later feels like a great game of effort and reward.

Bonelabs sex swing...

Spent way to long getting this one in. Had to clean up the cad/stl files and rework a lot of the files. UV unwrap, decimate, bake normals, it was a lot of work. Still not 100% done ( I need to texture the 3d printed lines) but its good enough to play with. The Orca is a very nice design. only thing wonky with it is the front picatinny is slanted down until like half way.

A little bonelab thing for people who played it years ago and still got a save: there's a gacha machine in main menu, you can pay ammo and receive containers with unlockables. You still have to find tools (constrainer, manipulator) on the map, but as far as props go, this thing is a life saver if you don't want to use someone else's save.

Low gravity was pretty cool. Damn shame they never did anything with it.
