It seems like this time they're a bit more likely to release it, given that they're demoing it a lot and actually opened EU pre-orders (though I'll wait for release anyway, given how it would be bloody hard to get money back from a non-EU company). After being tired of speculation, I've did an experiment repeating the "Measuring motion‑to‑photon latency for sensorimotor experiments with virtual reality systems" study, with slight ghettofication as I don't have a robotic arm and high speed slow mo camera.

I've made a vrchat world which changes color from green to red when your right hand is moving.

I've used my phone in slow mo mode (120 FPS), to film HMD lenses and VR controller being flicked. I've repeated flicks between 10 and 20 times, and counted frames from controller movement to HMD lenses turning red and averaged the delays in those flicks.

Results in vidrelated, what until the end.

Conclusion: WiFi headsets have up to 2 times longer latency, than wired (increase from 40 - 80 in worst case scenario). More than that, scene complexity (plain color vs noise) does change the encoder/decoder delay significantly, realistic case must be somewhere between noise and plain colors.

Anyone can now go to this world, flick his controller, film it on his latest iPhone or watewher and count frames.
I've tested all headsets I have, no I'm not paying for VD. But I encourage everyone to do their own tests.

I got the kkcobvr one since it's a clone of the bobo and it's fucking crap. In fact all halo style straps are crap.
It doesn't reduce pressure from the front and even adds some with the pointless halo, and the padding is fucking useless since the pressure point isn't at the forehead anyway. Only way to balance this shit is adding weight at the back and there's no straps that do that so you gotta do makeshift shit with strapping batteries on normal straps at the back.

I'm very happy with the regular Kiwi elite style strap. I just stick an external battery to it with hook/loop and connect with a short usb cable like >>504541325 suggests. The hook/loop tape makes them hotswappable.
Halo style headstraps are personal preference, some people love them some hate them. I didn't like the pressure on my forehead and the headset wobbling because it's not secure enough during fast movement. If you do get one make sure it has a big section of padding on the back like on the KKCOBVR one, it helps a ton for comfort.
While I personally prefer elite style straps they do give me the stereotypical red face marks and VR hair.

Either way get a headstrap that tilts up in the middle. That feature is very useful compared to headsets without it.

Pico 4 Ultra does support Wifi 7 but how much that matters is up to the buyer

Got one theory you can try: lighthouse devices will connect to any receiver, meaning that it's possible your trackers connected to headset, and your controllers are handled through vive tracker receivers. You can validate that by turning every device you have on, and then disconnecting all of the vive tracker receivers by hand, then see what blinks blue and what stays green. If your controller is connected to puck receiver, then make sure your receivers are far apart from each other. No. Not even in the game's official discord, the channel for group play is just one guy announcing when he's playing. Between peak EU and NA time on weekends you can sometimes find several people playing in a public lobby and that can trickle up a few more over time but that's it.
/vrg/ doesn't play it much anymore, one recent lobby hasn't change that. When they do play the turnout is less than stellar.

Ok, so devices got all mixed up.
Turn off vive trackers and knuckles, disconnect all dongles. Turn on right knuckle, and pair it. Turn on left knuckle and pair it. Reconect first dongle, and turn on one tracker, if it's not connected - pair it. Do it for 2 other trackers. That will fix your controller issue.

Controllers are the most radio occluded device - your hands are great radio absorbers, so you want them to be connected to the closest receivers - your headset. Spreading the dongles around will also help with trackers tracking.

Even putting aside it's obvious faults, it showed that the flat MMORPG formula sucks in VR, enough to damage to the hope for VRMMOs overall.
I think we'll see sandbox or playground type games that approach the scale of an MMO first. Orion Drift will have larger servers than Zenith and in the beta tests already had that 'everyone running around doing their own thing' feel that makes populated MMOs and games with massive servers feel good. I'd love a game with depth in more than just the movement mechanics but it's a start.

For me it was early 00s online games. I defaulted to a guy character in Ragnarok at first, but then the more I played, the more I wanted to play as a cute girl instead, because literally why not, and indeed a few people were already doing that, even if mostly for gameplay purposes as e.g. Dancers were gender-locked.
