Celebrate Chinese new years with /vrg/ by becoming snek or just wearing a nice snake themed Chinese dress!

Ok here's the breakdown on how to get your basic Snek girl up and running:

1) DL this https://files.catbox.moe/yoxpor.zip (Lamia Tail) (Requires Modular Avatar installed)
2) DL this https://booth.pm/en/items/1633965 (Mesh Splitter)
3) Place the snek prefab insisde your avatar hierarchy (there is a scene under Sundae>Parts_Torso>-plain and it contains the prefabs) and scale it to size. DO NOT MOVE IT IN THE VERTICAL AXIS. Just scale it and use the blendshapes to surround your torso in a proper lamia way
4) Make Quad and position it on your avatar like >>508651980 (Cross-thread) (Dead) cutting it just below the obvious spot to cut your avatar in twain. Place Quad in quad slot and body in body slot of Mesh splitter.
5) delete the bottom half of your avatar

Yeah it's weekly. It's basically a gacha of good or bad worlds we find from VRchat or twitter posters. It's mainly me dropping worlds but others can drop too as long as you talk with me first since there are details necessary for world size and world variety etc.

We can enjoy good worlds and can laugh at the bad worlds so it's not so harsh. We usually last longer on good worlds but almost immediately leave a bad world for the next. 5mins(min) to 15 mins (average) up to 30mins(max) on a world and that 30 min is only for the truly good worlds. We usually hop every 10-5 mins.

I'd eat the wireless delay if it meant same/better audio quality AND face and eye tracking instead of one or the other, since it's a given the displays (but not FOV) in newer headsets will be better.

we are literally looking at video in slow motion of controller being yanked and hmd screens reacting to that movement. Amount of frames times slow mo video frametime is the delay. We repeat the yanking multiple times to average out the noise.

The thing you've sent captures the moment of mouse click and looks at a screen using a photodiode to detect a flash. It's comparable, but there is no cheap, ready to use device available to yank the vr controller and detect reaction on vr hmd screen.

I dimissed zuck's HDR prototype because that shit was huge and I don't see how they would downscale that.

I dismissed PSVR2's HDR because they used high persistence to get high brightness which makes some people sick, I also just never got a chance to see it.

I was under a rock for a year and just found out about RTX SDR to HDR conversion. I actually have had an HDR oled monitor for a while and kept it in SDR because there was no HDR content (porn). I also watched some SDR to HDR games on youtube.

Holy shit I am ruined. It improves almost every image/video with no A/B required to tell. And I also know that hdr is not going to happen on pancake because they absorb so much light. And high res is just wasted on fresnel because i'ts blurshit outside the center.

Subsampling fucks the high contrast scenes.
Left part of the image is encoded at much higher quality settings but at subsampled chroma, right one uses mid settings at full chroma. The file size of the left is bigger, by almost 2x, and looks noticeably worse.
