Celebrate Chinese new years with /vrg/ by becoming snek or just wearing a nice snake themed Chinese dress!

Ok here's the breakdown on how to get your basic Snek girl up and running:

1) DL this https://files.catbox.moe/yoxpor.zip (Lamia Tail) (Requires Modular Avatar installed)
2) DL this https://booth.pm/en/items/1633965 (Mesh Splitter)
3) Place the snek prefab insisde your avatar hierarchy (there is a scene under Sundae>Parts_Torso>-plain and it contains the prefabs) and scale it to size. DO NOT MOVE IT IN THE VERTICAL AXIS. Just scale it and use the blendshapes to surround your torso in a proper lamia way
4) Make Quad and position it on your avatar like >>508651980 (Cross-thread) (Dead) (Dead) cutting it just below the obvious spot to cut your avatar in twain. Place Quad in quad slot and body in body slot of Mesh splitter.
5) delete the bottom half of your avatar

7) SNEK STONKS

btw some extra note for the Chinese New Year dress up event. Not required to be LAMIA but preferrable.
You can be any creative snake you want to be or just a simple chinese dress with some snake theming on it.

Here's some last minute physbones settings for people who want slightly more snakey-motion to the tail

The key element is use a very low Pull value so it takes the tail a long time to return to the original pose

You'll have to adjust the curves to match your own tail and the radius to fit the thickness. The green square is a physbones plane collider placed on the armature at floor height to keep the tail on the "ground"

the illusion is broken, because physbone plane colliders are infinite and it's at the avatar's "foot" level

there's a complicated way for the whole tail to respect the world's real floor with finalIK and a physbone collider for each bone in the tail held down with its own grounder

but it requires finalIK and is also time consuming, so I haven't done it and wouldn't recommend it this late

nta but VRchat fucked up all physbone and dynamic bone related stuff when they moved where player's initial state is.

They made it locked on people's heads instead of your origin point. So my guess on what happens is that every part of your avatar gets teleported to where your head is and then a frame later and everything attached is forced recalculated to where they are supposed to be, hence the jitter

No idea how the physbone solver is implemented, but that jitter is a recent vrchat thing and happens without things like finalIK. Every snake I've seen is jittering, probably everyone else with physbones is jittering too and it's only easy to notice on snakes because the physbone chains are so long

Want to get into VR, buying a headset soon somewhere in Europe.
There is some pretty cool firearms/K related shit in VR -- was inspired by seeing some TAVR/H3VR videos on the thread, and videos of other milsim/gun simulator VR games -- and range days are expensive where I live and arma missions spotty, inconsistent, sometimes inauthentic. We're going back to the 90s to drive JGTC Nissan Skyline at Ebisu circuit. Short laps, plenty of speed, grip and power. Japanese perfection.

Highly recommend installing stable custom shader patch and 7-zip plugin in Content manager.

UI radar are immersion breaking and basically cheating, but this guy will tell you verbally if someone is there on your right. Download, install, select Assetto Corsa in game list, press "Start application" and it should work!

Devs could probably get it running on a Quest 3 but it's going to be 72hz and/or considerably sub-native resolution. A better comparison would be SkyrimVR on PC, which with minimum specs using a CV1 could run 90hz at nearly half the resolution of a Quest 3. DOG GREEN Sector - this is dday so its fucking huge. you can see how big it is from the recent streamables I posted, and that's just stage 1

MODERN desert war - one of the few good brainslug maps (there aren't a lot). You can hug the desert but it doesn't do you much good. most of the action is inside the iraqi town

Provence - this is an urban combat map in ww2. house to house combat, streets are JUST big enough to squeeze pity tanks (they spawn on attackers first if the fight is going on too long, then defenders next)

Carentan - It's technically urban but it really needs a lot of players to be fun since it has a lot of meatgrinder fatal funnels, which is a common occurence on BS (Brainslug) maps

Contraband - 1980s miami vice with an amazing map and a shitty last point. I like it because it's unique and it forces you to be comfortable with pistols (yes phossu the deagle is there)

SF Space Battle 1 - A very unique map. First stage is disorienting and can really turn players off since it is vehicle centric and has you doing star wars esque dogfighting ala the space battles of Battlefront 2. AFter that it's a fight from the hangar to the core of the ship, where the objectives aren't capture points but critical infrastructure you have to pound with lasers and explosives. this vid is an example of the unique melee weapons that can deflect lasers

I recommend downloading the larger replays since those are the longest matches
