Apparently, BeamNG gets an official rally mode soon. I have an event idea in regards to that, but I'm not sure if I'd find people weird enough to pull this off some anons were clearly expressing interest in previous thread though:

Nice topple. Cube shoots things up into the air the fastest out of all structures. Also if you do uppercut first on a grounded structure it will tilt forward which makes it easier to arc over other structures.

Deckard has an open exhaust so the fan speed can run slower and save power and the soc never hits thermal limits

It's close to the face but still tall, think quest 3 with the battery removed because it's externally tethered, so close it can have nose cut out

The 2.8" LCD is real. Valve chose 2.8" so they can sell a 2160p LCD version and a higher res OLED version and sell to high end and midrange market at the same time. Micro oled gimps field of view and only comes in 1" or so, making a cheaper version with common hardware impossible. When micro oled gets bigger, we're going back to big screens and big lenses anyway, so valve might as well maintain experience in this area.

my new card came in today. holy shit. I had some install trouble. Had to disable pcie5 across the board because I was just getting black screens and unplugging/replugging did nothing. Tried a couple flat games and then procrastinated trying VR for the rest of day because I was still pissed about the blackscreen shit.
Just did an hour of AMS2. on my 12gb card I had to lower everything except textures and could only do 120% res to get 90ish hz. (it was not stable)
the 5090 shitted on AMS2 without remorse. 150% res, all graphics maxed besides AA, 90hz, only 60% gpu 62c.
I need to get rid of Q3 and get a pcvr headset NOW what the fuck it was like 7x better than my 4070ti.

Hope you like your headset but this is why when I hear deckard could have a 2.8" 2160p LCD display I don't freak out as a waitfag. That's basically confirmation that it's 2.8" and I think 2160p LCD is really unlikely as the only choice, or if it's in product at all. Micro-oled's ~1 inch display stack even with a custom face gasket can't compete with a normal size optical stack of old. Small micro-oleds are probably going to be considered transition technology in the near future and when micro-oled is bigger we don't make the headset that small unless it's a mini casual headset for watching movies or something. Is big screen concave or convex? I wonder if they can make a lens that's practically a monocle you shove into your eye socket with an adjustment. Unless you can do that, it's back to bigger lenses or pic related.

The bigscreen beyond (and bigscreen 2 which is what you want) is basically the most just works headset that replaces the index that works on linux, steamvr is really not maintained by valve anymore for linux you'll have to lookup monado openxr runtime. Several people here use linux so join on desktop mode and ask around. Also while deckard will work one way or another steamlink still has no linux binaries so it'll have poor support and no foveated rendering until valve does something.

PSVR2 is actually a really good PCVR headset. Nice screen, lenses are a bit dated but are middle-range. It's wired so you don't get compression artifacts. It's also pretty cheap so it's not a bad first headset at all.
The primary downside is actually the cable. It's non replaceable so while it's a good first headset, keeping it running through a broken cable will get increasingly difficult since sony pulled a full retard and did not make a replaceable cable.
For driving games specifically wired is better because compression artifacts from wireless headsets makes trees and passing scenery look fucking nasty and perform like crap.

As for PC specs........

VR headsets are a LOT of pixels. The PSVR2 especially. You will be turning down the resolution on games. The answer is the best you can afford, and don't buy any GPU under 16GB and try and avoid AMD.
Optimal build: 9800X3d/5090. BeamNG is especially known for being hard to run in VR.
