I'm experiencing some rigging issues. I have a base model that comes pre rigged to armature: great. I add some clothes, fit them, auto weight, rigging looks good. However, the model comes with the feet positioned weird for some custom shoes. So, I unparent the model from the armature, delete vertex groups/modifiers, sculpt the feet to be normal,, and re-auto weight the body mesh. Looks, good rigged fine.

But whenever I try to rig clothes to the armature now, nothing works. Auto weights, weight painting- nothing happens and the clothes refuse to link to the skeleton. It seems to simply be caused by something in the process of de-parenting and re-parenting the body mesh to the armature. Anyone have any idea what's going on here?

Okay, so I got mine.

It's just okay. I wouldn't try to sell it to someone. There's more about it I dislike more than I like. It's not as bad as the haters said it would be but not as good as I hoped it would be.

At the least my product worked out of the box. No dead pixels or issues aside from GPU lol AMD. Mic is on level with the index. Audio strap audio is only one step below the Index and the Index is peak so I didn't even really notice the downgrade since I'm not much of an audiophile.

Really bad glare on the lenses that I can only describe as visual tinnitus. Not so obvious when you're in game and doing stuff but if you look at something dark for a second or so you notice it again.

Really warm orange tint I'm not liking so far but I really overly prefer colder displays so maybe I'll just get used to it. Hope I can adjust it down in an update or something.

Going from 144hz on the Index to 75hz is actually painful. Going to try running it at 90hz soon.

True blacks, they look fucking great, just like on any other OLED display, but you also will notice the glare almost immediately as well.

Resolution bump is also great, no more letterboxing at all. But incredibly overshadowed by the refresh rate hit.

Audio strap is tolerable but isn't comfy at all. I changed out the pretty terrible foam for silicone padding which cost like $30 and it helped a lot. The worst part about the audio strap is how cheap and flimsy it feels.

Audio strap is terrible imo. Audio quality isn't all that bad on its own (not good by any means though), but because of how flimsy and badly designed it is, it's a miracle if speakers actually sit over your ears in the right position. I've folded those shitty headphones up, bought a pair of wired earbuds and cheapo fiio dac that looks like any other usb-c to jack converter, and then my levels of BSB2 enjoyment increased massively after that. Very much recommended, $40 meme crinacle chink earbuds provide far better audio quality than this cursed head strap, comfort is much better, and it isolates you from at least part of this dumb ass headset fan noise or makes it worse because you can hear it buzzing through your skull. but i dunno, for me it feels like an improvement, it's much quieter this way and therefore easier to ignore

On that note, I think this usb-c port for headphones is horribly underpowered, and because of that sometimes amplifier gives up, then i'm losing audio for a split second. Can't say for sure, but it's the most likely scenario as for why it's malfunctioning.

I am once again seeking the wisdom of this thread. This seems like such a simple problem but I kind of at a loss for how to best do this. Model comes pre-rigged with feet positioned to fit some angled shoes. I want to make her feet flat so she can be barefoot or wear sandals. I do not want to re-rig the model since whatever weight painting comes with the model is infinitely better than anything I can get automatically, which fucks up everything else. I tried re-posing it so the feet are flat and saving that but she always snaps back to the angled feet in gesture manager for some reason.

What would you do?

I just niggerliciously separated the feet verticies from the body, un parented only the feet to save the rigging, sculpted them to fit back onto the body so it looked barely good enough, and then auto weighted, which worked, but this is quite a bit better.

Give it some time. My first impressions were similar, but the more I use it, the more it grows on me. I still wouldn't try to sell it to anyone, but I went from "eh, it's a minor upgrade from index overall so I'll probably keep it" to "it's a really good headset and I'm glad I bought it". Low weight is an amazing upside once you'll use it for a while, colors are great (if you disagree, try playing any flatscreen game in VR theater and then you'll probably change your mind), image clarity is insane, sweet spot is pretty much no longer an issue - partially because this custom-fit gasket glues the headset to your face. This headset has a lot to offer and it really doesn't deserve the hate it got from me when i've received it

I'm running it at 90hz with 115% brightness. If I remember correctly, I've took away 1%-2% of red color from image components in ovr advanced settings, but I'm not quite sure if I didn't revert it back at some point because I've gotten more used to warm image calibration.
