Back in my day, we used to discourage people plastering vrg identifying shit on avatars or maps to begin with. Only reason people are aware of vrg at all is because vrg started acknowledging it. As much as I hate the "sekrit club" mentality of some people here, /vrg/ *is* supposed to be more low key with it's identifiers. Its why we always kind of shunned having a vrg vrchat group.

Current stuff in my head I am imagining is that Yakuza clip but with our gremlins there and Cakey chasing us around.

So have I. A lot of the friends I've made along the way have either drifted away themselves, moved on, or don't get on much anymore due to life changes. There's also no accounting for people themselves changing.

It's not a bad thing to have pre-prepared teams imo. We have hosts of different hosted events for example and each one has friends that can form a team between one another.

The "bonding" occurs via the fair sportsmanship of a great rivalry in battle. The other team is a RIVA to beat but one that is fondly seen as part of the whole.
Sports festival was actually half and half this since some groups formed naturally while others I had to brute force fill with random anons I can pull into the teams and forced them together.

I do agree with you that it's good that there are events that shuffle people together unwillingly.
And having events that make people group up with their preferred people aren't too bad too.

It's good to protect our flavor of weirdness, and it always makes me happy whenever a newfriend joins and then you can see that he feels like he finally found a group that shares his kind of brain damage. That and the town itself was so spread out it was a bitch to get around. Cave/forest also super huge so getting resources was just a massive slog of walking forever until you got 30+ levels deep. They removed armour for some reason and never added it back so there wasn't much in the way of gear progression. Servers would absolutely shit themselves if people were in more than three different locations at once, making crafting and combat impossible. The vr interactions for crafting were good but everything else fucking sucked. If the map was condensed, armour was readded, and the server stability issues were fixed, it might be worth picking up again. As it stands it's not worth it at all.

I think something roomscale could be really interesting as long as it worked with small enough spaces. Tea for God is a fascinating concept but it's a single player procedural generated roguelike. What if there was a game that applied it's non-euclidean roomscale concept, optimized enough to run natively on a quest, but it was a multiplayer shared-world dungeon crawl, with quest hubs, quest givers, events, etc? less structured and instance gameplay and more "shared world" like runescape or guild wars 2's open world content.

Can confirm it has no button, yeah. It's mildly annoying to turn the controller on just to be able to disable overlay before sim racing, though I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker if you can bigcope with the rest of the various annoyances BSB throws at you.
