Last race before Christmas! Calling all Santa helpers! Deliveries needed, Santa is looking for the fastest delivery driver in the whole North Pole! Ford Transit race on an old Slovenian racing track!

Afterwards, something COMPLETELY different. SPEED RACER practice. Speed Racer cars from the Speed Racer movie have been implemented "realistically" in Assetto Corsa. Cars have 4WD, 4 wheel steering, "fly by wire" system, which calculates optimal angle of "drift", insane power and downforce. And additionally, one more trick - clutch pedal operates a fucking JET ENGINE AFTERBURNER which gives you MORE speed and, if carefully controlled, INSANE cornering ability. It's a crazy thing to drive, it's a death race, it's insane, it's FUN. You WILL need CSP 0.2.9 or 0.2.11.

It's been a while, might be time for another Small Cluster Exploration event this Sunday, going around worlds, checking whatever event is active at the time and messing around with ingame world building tools. There are some cool worlds to see and fun games to play.

I never had problems with weapon handling. But for me it was definitely whenever we were on a cod map with either the really dark shadow lighting so as a index user I was always at a disadvantage whenever a shadow monkey killed me from god knows where, or one with wack vertical levels so you're getting killed litrally from the sky's above. Or whenever the hosts ignored the warnings of playing on rush with 5v5 like that one hoth map. I tried to play in a pub once but I think I was upsetting the other players and I didn't figure out why, probably because I was running with heavy armor and apparently that's frowned upon, but I had my fix for a game and didn't stick around to speak up like a autist why people were getting butthurt. Playing vrfps just isn't the same without the vrg crowd.

I've upgraded my Wifi setup and now it delivers a stable 1200 Mbps. I can push as mush megabits as I want over steam link or pico connect. Both pico connect, and steam link almost never go over 300 Megabit, even if set to the max.
Image quality is slightly better overall than at 100-120 Megabits, but ashpalt and foliage is STILL mushy, unless you make SteamVRLink foveated window extremely small.
I've took some screenshots using onboard Pico 4 screenshot button, it renders low res, compressed images, but even there you can see the mush unless reduce fovea to extremely small sizes.
My stance is till as follows: compressionlets are delusional when saying that compression is "fine", you can immediately see it in any foliage, moving high entropy textures. But it's starts to actually be fine, when you use 300 Megabits to encode 300px x 300 px foveated region, which makes me cautiously optimistic about Steam Frame.

I think temporal DLSS/FSR will make very high frame rate headsets (300-500hz) possible in the near future. It will not magically make VR games playable at lower fps, the smearing would be just way to much. But at higher FPS(90-144), the smearing is often minimal enough to not notice. Once hmd manufactures figure out how to get more nits/brightness out of the panels, the refresh rate can be increased. Although, at the current pace of the computer competent market and lack of competent graphics devs, the near future might be 10+ years out...
