I've got them, they're fun to use in VRC, but even basic games are a struggle due to abstract grip button that has a threshold midway through finger curl, a tiny little shitty inprecise joystick on finger doesn't help either. You'd need a game/steamvr restart, udcap driver is dorky and it'll duplicate knuckles as two extra virtual controllers in game if they're used while udcap driver is turned on. On that note, you'll also want to exclude vive pucks on udcap hands from vrchat, otherwise gloves attach to hands, and still visible pucks attach to your arm as body trackers, annoying stuff.

My general take is that you should only buy those gloves if you have no expectations to daily them, and you want a fun gimmick to play around with. I think VRC-only person could reasonably daily it, but it comes with big downsides of accidental grip, ungrip, trigger hits, camera shutter presses, list goes on.

No, you don't buy the individual IMU chip. You would need highly specialized equipment to create your own PCBs and solder microchips onto them. You buy a microcontroller, like a clone of an nRF52840, and another board that has an IMU and potentially a magnetometer. There are many different microcontrollers and IMU+magnetometer boards. You can't even get avatars that are closer to your size and or proportions, so everyone just copes with retargeting IK. Thats the one thing I'll give applel is that you can just show up as yourself. In vrchat you need to know avatar creation, optimization, unity, blender, biomechanics, anatomy, 3d scanning, rigging ect. ect. to get something close to yourself. Yes, kinda, but unity and especially vrchat way to work with baked lighting data is EXTREMELY ass, you cant replace it, and the baked world needs to be marked as static, so things break if you try to move it or toggle it.

But nowadays there is a kinda a solution. VRChat light volumes, which can be dynamic. So you can bake lighting of the room into high resolution baked volume, and that will store proper lighting information, including occlusion or shadows. Its volumetric, so kinda cool, but is lower resolution than what you could get with textured lightmap data.
Baked volume color, intensity can ve adjusted in realtime for no extra cost.

Downsides:
Requires shader with VRCLighVolume support, but its now supported by most toon and pbr shaders popular in VRChat. The room has to be left completely dark for normal bake, which makes the lightprobes black. So avatars with other shaders will not be lit in that room.

Developing for PCVR only is dead for commercial viability, the only reason to do it is as a passion project. A few of these still endure but you'll notice that the most successful ones all pivoted to some kind of quest port eventually.
If you're PCVR inclined you're much better off just making a game with both flat and PCVR support. Gunman Contracts is an example of a game taking this approach. Even if it ends up mid by flat standards the volume of sales is still going to be significant compared to VR.

I made DIY slimes using cheesecake boards with BMI270. And I'm in the middle of making stacked nrf based slimes, mostly bought shit from china. For cheesecakes I got the boards from PCB manufacturer using provided schematic files. With stacked slimes I got the IMU directly from slime store and the rest of the stuff from ali. Problem with ordering from chinks is they have pretty high failure rate so it would be good idea to order some spares. Your pic is basically IMU breakout board already presoldered by some chinese kid to the controller for your convenience, it might work it might not. Stacked slime firmware is very fragmented for now so the support for those ready made boards might not be great.

I'm certain that the issue its what I think it is, and it fucking sucks.
Instead of managing flow through network events, the prefab uses a script to manage all networking named "Benscript", which unfortunately relied on undefined behavior of the Serialization/Deserialization events/requests.
The core of the issue, is that it expects that requesting serialization, folllowed by deserializing all of the object hierarchy (???), the state will be properly synchronized between all players, however, there is no assurance of this unless you resume the workflow execution from the deserialization hook.
I tried fixing it the easy way by adding a system that checks for acknowledgments from each player, but failed at it, so now I'm doing it the hard way.

The AI sucks at dogfighting, so if you're able to get in close and mix it up you can get gun kills even if you're out of missiles. The gun is also fantastic against most ground targets save for bunkers, which it can't hurt.

It's set up in unity when you create an avatar and cannot be changed otherwise. For maximum ease of use you should use the FaceEmo plugin so you dont have to deal with the unity ui.
I recommend putting similar gestures onto hand gestures that can be seamlessly swapped between, for example a slight smile into a big smile with closed eyes could be placed on the V and open hand gesture so it becomes more natural in game, this is something you just have to tinker with.

There's a bunch of different reticules depending on if you're engaging a ground or air target and if you have them locked or not, I would check the manual.

The pic related is the "gun funnel" for engaging air targets WITHOUT a lock, you place the wings inside the funnel and fire for a rough lead. If you lock the target on radar you'll get a much better pipper that compensates for everything.

If you're aiming and the ground, you'll get an automatic pipper for the rough ground impact point even without a TGP lock. (I often just use this) If you lock a ground target or a point on the ground with the TGP you again get the precise pipper that'll compensate for velocity.
