Where NA FBF group photo?

The only 2 games worth playing VR for are Beat Saber (2018) and Half-Life Alyx (2020). VR has been stagnant for the last 6 years with nothing to show for it and nothing on the horizon.
Fact is, VR is extremely demanding (cost, resources, learning, supporting) to develop for and its still extremely niche leading to nothing but tech demos and sloppy pancake-to-VR ports.
I'll be buying a Frame on release because I have the Steambux from selling TF2 skins, but I have no intentions of playing anything other than Alyx and Beat Saber again.

I think it was the huge influx of EU players in mid 2019. Before that the timezone was almost completely dead aside from a handful of gatekeeping regulars and most Europeans would just go to NA meetups instead. There was a precedent set of hosting regular lobbies in the thread that hasn't been interrupted since. NA from the start was exclusive friend group lobbies that might allow others in if they feel like it and as they became more fragmented, they just stopped any kind of open invites. Drunk Pavlov is possibly the last remaining open NA activity and half the players aren't even from the Americas.

If a rando gets put in timeout they can still join literally any other instance of FBF or make their own empty one and stand around alone. Same. I presume nothing happens in most of them. It's pretty annoying when the people you spend time with are all in the same server and arrange things in there but you're just never invited for whatever reason and you know it's only a matter of time before you lose contact with them.

Not that I know of, I assume I'd at least hear people mentioning it if that's the case.
I haven't bothered trying to host Forefront myself since my experience from trying to join EU a couple times made it feel like the game wasn't well suited for trying to play with people you know.
The way people tend to filter into NA lobbies doesn't really mesh well with the game in its current state (rush to join the same open lobby before it fills up), and the party system doesn't really solve any of my issues with it either.
It's a shame since I think it's a pretty fun game outside of that.

I've found americans are less likely to try new things than euros or seamen and when they do they're far more likely to make it a one off than put in the effort to make it a regular thing. Once it is a regular thing it will also have that same reluctance to change. NA pavlov for example is super regular to the point that it's the same maps and game modes and players every time.

It's been a week since I switched to Linux. So far I've gotten almost everything working: WiVRn, VRChat video players, facetracking, FBT, playspace moving, Unity... I haven't done any benchmarking but performance seems to be the same as W11. The only issue that I haven't managed to fix is WayVR (XSOverlay replacement) not getting my pointer at the right position when using multiple monitors (KDE + Wayland + Nvidia).

are you using lighthouse trackers? Last time I've tried running linux, performance was meh compared to windows but serviceable, tho the worst thing was trying to use those with my quest through Envision + WiVRn and motoc, it was constantly fucking up my continuous calibration and my index controllers had a weird compensation which made my controllers move more than they should just by rotating my wrists.

Yeah, I'm using lighthouse trackers and Index controllers with a Quest Pro and they work fine, as long as you turn them on before starting WiVRn (from AUR, not Envision, I couldn't get that to work). I haven't tried continuous calibration yet.
