This year, we have three exciting ways to participate:

-Compete to become /vrg/'s Top Idol! Show off a live performance, music video, or mix of both and try to take home the prize. This year will also have a Best Debut award for the greatest performance by a first-timer.

-Become a /vrg/ All-Star! Sing a few lyrics of a song and submit a model of your avatar, and the /vrg/ Idol team will animate you into a music video alongside your fellow All-Stars.

-Submit a world prop! Create a custom model or poster to be used as a prop in the contest world.

Any heart monitor or fitness/smart watch that can broadcast over Bluetooth. Depends on how accurate you want it to be, a Garmin heartrate strap is the most accurate and what my friend with POTS uses, but a watch will do just fine if you don't need to worry about randomly passing out.

What is this?
A celebration of anon’s varied groups and activities.
For one day /vrg/ turns into a full blown school festival, with rooms, booths, attractions and little corners of chaos all hosted by the different groups and friend circles around the community.

Come wander the grounds and visit what anons have cooked up.
Games, exhibits, hangouts, performances, themed rooms, comfy spots, weird ideas, good ideas, dumb ideas made real.
The whole point is to let every part of /vrg/ show its face and make something fun for everyone else to enjoy.

If you’ve ever wanted to host something, decorate a room, run a booth, make a club attraction, show off your group’s gimmick or just contribute to the general festival atmosphere, this is the event for it.
Big or tiny projects, polished or scuffed projects, they all have a place in a school festival.

This is both a social event and a showcase.
A chance to see what all the different corners of /vrg/ are up to, meet people you don’t normally bump into and enjoy an entire map full of anon-made activities all in one place.

Specially if you are currently or have hosted weekly/monthly/occasional events before and currently!
COME AND SHILL, Grow your club, Entice another anon to try what you love doing!

It's a numbers game. Install base is low, therefore less gamedevs are interested.
Less gamedevs being interested, therefore we only get a small subset of gamedevs being interested in doing something "cool" or "innovative" instead of doing the same slop that has been done before.

Flat games being modded into VR is the best thing that can happen, because this way we get certain games never meant to be VR, in VR.
Outer, GTFO, Payday, Valheim, Subnautice... the list of games that are amazing games in VR, while never being developed as such is long. It's not that the game is fundamentally different, it's just that VR ads more imersion that you could ever have in flat. Therefore, modding is a really really good thing, maybe even the best, that happens to VR.

If we never get a VR developed game anymore (it's all VN, rythm games or shooters anyway, so who cares) I would be 100% fine with indie games being modded into VR.

1050 is likely too weak for Quest 3S resolution even at 72hz. I used to play modded SkyrimVR on a GTX970 but that was on a significantly lower resolution Rift S at 80hz.
Ideally you would need to know how to mod Skyrim properly too. Practically all of the Skyrim VR modding community has since shifted to focus on high end hardware and horribly unoptimized modlists.

i don't know if anyone's mentioned this or even heard of it but there's this really cool and unique game called rumble where you do poses with your hands and combine them to do fun hitcombos and send stone structures flying at the other guy it really feels a lot like a traditional fighting game when you look at grounded/moving structure strength values and net zeroing and using explode to unground and weaken their structures and the principle of the 2nd hit and backsteps and centre control and using hold straight to send their structures back at them but a lot cooler because it's like you're learning an actual quasi-martial art and at first it's kinda hard because you have no muscle memory but it gets better every time you get on but yeah i don't really see people talk about this game much but i think it's very creative and interesting hope that helps

I have my audio settings EQ tweaked to make all women and children significantly quieter by default

I've tried to many VR mods but almost all of them feel so annoyingly jank and unfun to work around vs actually proper designed VR interactions. Even when the performance is surprisingly good, like the recent RE9 VR mod, it just feels like I'd rather play on my high end monitor where I can turn up all the eye candy or use proper HDR.

I've tried playing with a controller, but then the whole VR aspect feels tacked on and wasted since I need to turn down most settings anyway. Wish I could see what other people see in stuff like UEVR, but even the highly recommended games feel janky. Only seen a few VR mods that felt native enough to be enjoyable and not fighting the controls.

The best way to determine is really just to pose the avatar in various ways and tweak things until they look how you want. I prefer to use a very light brush strength (like 0.05 thereabouts, depending) and then make lots of little tweaks until it's nice and smooth. For example, if you just take a screenshot of the rendering view of the game and slap the texture of to the same rectangle, but make it so each eye only gets its corresponding eye, it's actually pretty forgiving.
You can view it from different distances, so it's similar to a tv, and you would still see depth, even oblique view directions work.
The eye need adjustment when you change position though.

Correct only on the first half. There is actually a trick to proper cropping of 3d screenshots.
You have to extend each view past the binocular overlap area for the best effect.
Different texture for the same physical (or virtual) rectangle works, but there is an uncomfortable zone for the part of the image on the side which is not overlapping.

"YosaVR" is the combination of "Yosakoi" and VR. Yosakoi is a (modern) japanese folk dance style, which often relies on using accessories.
With "YosaVR", we aim to actively learn dance routines; first we'll learn some actual yosakoi routines, but I'm planning to eventually mix it with other types of dances/songs later on.

From what I gathered on linux vr adventure cord, wivrn github and so on.
Pyrowave decodes EXTREMELY fast on desktop GPUs, but if you use the same code and run it on XR2+++++++ device, something about the memory layout, makes it extremely inefficient, and it takes longer than decoding of h264 to get the same quality. Maybe valve, if they take it seriously will optimize decoder for these mobile chips, but as it is now, its no bueno, unless you only need to decode a small image like desktop panel or small foveated region and you need like 500 megabits for good picture quality.
