What is this?
A celebration of anon’s varied groups and activities.
For one day /vrg/ turns into a full blown school festival, with rooms, booths, attractions and little corners of chaos all hosted by the different groups and friend circles around the community.

Come wander the grounds and visit what anons have cooked up.
Games, exhibits, hangouts, performances, themed rooms, comfy spots, weird ideas, good ideas, dumb ideas made real.
The whole point is to let every part of /vrg/ show its face and make something fun for everyone else to enjoy.

Just finished Genotype.
Took me about 10 hours, got most of the secrets (missing only 2 skins for the gloves).

It's a decent game if you like metroidvania-style exploration and FPS, though not as good as Metroid Prime.
It has about half a dozen boss fights, but only the final one actually feels like what you'd expect from a classical boss fight in a Metroid-style game.
It would've been worth playing if it were flat, VR merely adds to the atmosphere. The only part that makes unique use of VR controls is the swimming, which is like 10 minutes of playtime (or 5 minutes if you don't care about the secret sewage rooms).

It's very easy if you're a decent FPS player and don't get motion sickness from strafing in VR, so maybe up the difficulty level in that case.

it's fucking nuts. You need a Meta account to use it at all (can't even sideload anything without an account). While making my Meta account, I had to upload a selfie video of myself to "verify my identity." For a fucking video game console of all things.

The only reason I didn't just pack my Quest up and send it back right then and there is that I had already given pics of myself to the same ID verification company that Meta uses, when I made an account at a crypto exchange (where this is mandated by law, in part due to legitimate concerns like money laundering).

Steam Frame will probably be much less aggressive in this regard, but also much more expensive. Beyond that, research the headsets in the guide in OP.

6dof is common even with overlays and no source code access. On the motion control layer the current hotness for whole body humanoid motion retargeting is nvidia's GEAR-SONIC (https://nvlabs.github.io/GEAR-SONIC/). This is translating target points into robot motion.

With regards to what is delivered to the operators, the less sophisticated and shitty pipelines will just stream video directly and have it be displayed in flat format in vr or on a monitor. The cooler people who spend more than 2 minutes thinking about problems use more sophisticated representations. (pic rel, what teleop looks like on my personal robot)

Latency is not as much of a problem as you would think. With an intelligently designed system many tasks are perfectly doable even at 400+ms ping. Nobody is using these things with remote teleop for anything requiring reactions or and kind of heavy work.

Anyways it's a very nascent field and there are very few actual real production use cases yet, teleoperated or otherwise.

Why does forefront not have a function team balance? So many times rush phases are ending in less than 60 seconds and I look at the scoreboard and its -5 +5 players. Then more people leave in a feedback loop. When you die on a stacked team it should offer you to switch teams for EXP or some kind of currency
