I like the idea of it, enjoyed most of the short presentations that were given and the spirit of people actually participating.
I don't mind how half of the things looked half baked or scuffed, this event was such a compromise to gather that many people in so little time.
But something that really bothered was the whole AI descriptions in each room, the logos made with AI I could even give it a pass due that they were too many and they had the stamp gimmick thingy.
But the whole descriptions made things feel very souless

Nothing else really bothered me that much since I know hounding that many people for submissions and throwing everything in must've been a pain, but the AI descriptions sucked and just having the club name instead would've been fine.
Map could've been smaller with things closer together since there were so many empty rooms and it was easy to miss stuff.
Credit also didn't really go to the right people for a lot of events too, which didn't really bother me, but I could see some people having a problem with.

It wasn't "furries" that is to blame here because we'll be attacking and solving the wrong problem.
Even if we have removed the three guys who slipped in (map had 5 slots left at this point when these three were reported to be there and asked to change avatars). There was still more people than those three that were overflowed. We had 16 people on overflow.

FBF can getaway with a split and filling both instances to cap because there's really no "presentation/performance" and everyone can just move in or out the event.

For school festival and other performance based events like idol event, there's not much we can do on how to "duplicate" the experience easily.
I was experimenting with one during dreadfest but it was halfbaked and hard to impliment.

Any ideas on how we can have a healthy overflow for submission type events?

As someone that got thrown on a board in another event room without ever being told that was going to be a thing seemingly because of a mixup since I didn't even see a board for them, it wouldn't have been a big deal for me to write a little bit about the activity in question if anyone had actually asked me to.

The biggest thing I agree with here is the stamp/logo collection system and how it shifted the focus from the rooms themselves to just the stamps. Was kinda sad to see lots of people just running around looking for them instead of looking at the rooms/exhibits. Also didn't like how a lot of the rooms/activities were credited to wrong anons instead of the actual hosts.

In the future, if there's similar events to this should be scaled back a bit and try to find others who are willing to test out and help with making the completed map would be a good direction to go for. (Although trying to make booths for activities himself doesn't feel like the best use of time)

First thing that comes to mind is changing the teleporting orb you mentioned into a small notification blip on the handheld menu.
Another is changing the presenter microphone distance from global to like 20 meters max. Host mic is still global This will allow people to have their own little pockets of activities without getting bothered by the on-going presentation.

It might actually be a critical point going here on out. I won't start making a "big event" wihtout first ensuring and finding someone willing to double check the parts for me. Like the tracking for submissions were the most dire. It was difficult.

I've failed tracking through DMs that someone submitted and I failed to even track it

And another where I was working on from a ripped map of theirs for weeks but then I gave up (EU watchalong) forgetting that they actually indeed sent a full copy export of their assets

Overall, I am honestly humbled and glad that everyone is a lot more forgiving of the mishaps.
There's still work to be done on salvaging the broken trust between the contributors and me, and hopefully they can forgive me on that... I'll make up for it and ensure it doesn't happen again or happens at a much lesser degree

My only problem with the event was scope creep, from which I believe the rest of the problems arose from.
I don't really care about the slop, or host being wrong, since I considered this to be Y's event from the beginning.

tl;dr insufficient testing. And with those complains mentioned, I'm still really happy it happened, I was having a blast running around the event map with everyone, and seeing so many activities mentioned in one place made me realize we're still going hard. Thanks for making it happen.

Years ago, even simple group photo events where everyone made a themed outfit and took a picture together were enough to get the whole community excited. As events repeated more often and the quality bar was raised, so too were peoples' expectations.
