Ebin. I (slop)figured out the issue with the therapy center server. If you open an RCON connection, do stuff, then close the socket on the client-side, pavlov will leak some state internally that is shared with its other TCP connections for like downloading maps or mods (but not the actual UDP for game packets). If you reach 1024 connections, map downloading will start timing out. So if you happen to have something that pings RCON and leaks a connection every 5 seconds, then after about ~1 hour, the rcon connections and other map downloads/telemetry pings fill the 1024 connection limit and the server stops responding (until libcurl gets a tcp connection timeout and somehow frees up some connections).

tl;dr if you do RCON stuff make sure to explicitly use the 'Disconnect' command https://pavlovwiki.com/index.php/Rcon_Overview_and_Commands#Commands or dave will leak your connections

I started with a game like hotdogs horseshoes and handgrenades since I found that pretty fun. However if just the act of walking makes you feel woozy then do NOT open your eyes when you fall off a ledge, or use a ladder. That will take a good long while to stop fucking you over. Looking down while falling in VR was the first time when I was still getting used to vr motion was the first time I legitimately felt a pit in my stomach so hard that I stumbled and nearly fell over, had to take a break after that. Now it doesn't bother me.
Just do make sure to take a break when you do notice yourself start to feel a little sick, don't try to power through it because then your brain is going to associate vr with feeling sick and avoid it.

You guys really need someone dedicated to the video stream/recording. It's been really poor. Many of the performances are video-only and yet instead of simply showing the fullscreen video, we have the camera on the stage for periods, with the video screen cropped at the top of the frame, or randomly panning around the audience. The first minute of this stage performance is just a crowd shot. Or a black screen for minutes at a time early on (you could see the disco light occasionally so it IS a camera shot).

Consumer VR has been around for 10+ years now. In that timespan /vrg/ itself has been around for 9 years. In this time period how many people have you known died? We've been around so long we can count a few who have passed away. They never got to see the Frame.
You can quite literally get a VR headset for less than a AAA game or GTA VI. Why wait? Time is finite and not promised. You could die tomorrow and never know what it was like to explore virtual reality. VRChat could die and this thread will go down with it unless we migrate to another platform. The nukes could fly tomorrow and your last thought will be "I wish I tried VR sooner".

I myself had a friend who passed away in 2022. We played SO much Pavlov PUSH together though he never really got into VRChat. He only experienced VR on a Quest 1 tethered to his PC with a 2070. I always think of how much his mind would have been BLOWN if he stuck around for the SlimeVR trackers I meant to give to him as a gift that came within a year after he passed.
