You should be aware that frame streaming from a linux desktop is very much in a beta software state right now. The dongle works but it requires you to have some specific driver and kernel updates on your pc. There are many other bugs as well.

Your two options for streaming software on linux are native steamvr streaming or the third-party WiVRn software.

The main resource for linux vr info is https://vronlinux.org/ although it has not really been updated with frame info. If you join their discord though, you can find a good amount of resources. A couple valve devs hang around there and actively work on steamvr on linux stuff.

Welcome to the club. I got my Frame on the 1st, and am also using it on Linux. In my case though, I am on Gentoo, so tinkering around to fix things on the PC side might be easier for me.
First thing, you'll need kernel 7.2+ or to grab and build the kernel module the dongle uses if your kernel is older. https://github.com/morrownr/rtl8852cu-20251113
If you are on 7.2, using the following is recommended. It's grabs the module source from the linux source tree and patches it to fix a few issues. Specifically, it disables the 2.4GHz radio which causes interference with USB3, and could cause the dongle to disconnect any time it tried scanning that frequency range (this change is in kernel 7.3). It also changes the transmit power profile, ignoring what the frame tells it to use, which will hopefully be fixed by Valve in the future. https://github.com/Davenport-Physics/rtw89-steam-frame
Also here's a wiki with some extra information that I think some people here edit. Despite what it says about streaming on linux, I have found WiVRn to work worse thus far. The dongle requires NetworkManager to attempted automatic pairing. There's a good chance your frame does not automatically connect to the dongle, or even detect it even when paired, even if the Steam setup seemingly works and creates the connection in NetworkManager. In that case, you will have to manually connect to the Wifi AP the Frame hosts, which will have the SSID "Frame_<device ID or something>." If it treats it as a new connection and asks for a password, you can grab the password from the automatically created connection in NetworkManager.
Your mileage WILL vary on whether this all works decently or not. My dongle doesn't always connect properly, and sometimes it's unstable as fuck. Best of luck. Hope you're willing to tinker if needed.

In todays slopventure, I explore using April Tags as trackers with the Steam Frames cameras.
In short: Don't.
I was not expecting it to be very good, but to be this bad was actually surprising. Worse than kinect FBT. I printed up some tags and mounted them to some old sandals and made a quick mount with cardboard for the hip. I learned that the tracking on the Steam Frame has two exposures, a long and a short. The long one is for environment detection and SLAM, while the short exposure is for finding the IR leds on the controllers. Of course the tags are only visible in the long exposure which is runs at 33hz I think. The April tag detector takes a time to process the image, and theres four cameras. So the delay really adds up fast. The tags do track with a noticeable amount of delay. The problem with April tags and the Frame is the resolution of the cameras. Its not enough to pickup smaller tags or tags at much distance. So the tags need to be somewhat large. HOWEVER, the bigger the tag the easier it is to cover part of it. The majority of the tag needs to be in view for it to track. So theres quickly a dilemma, I need a bigger tag to see it at distance but its easier to loose tracking behind a part of my body. Not only that, but the detector draws a lot of power from the battery. 6 Watts, which brought the battery to like 1h on a charge.
So its:
1. Bad delay
2. Easily obscured
3. Drains the battery super fast
Even if was twice as fast and efficient I don't think it would be a good idea. I'm not even sure what application this would be good for. Something that doesn't move very often but is still in view of the cameras. But it gives me ideas on track other devices, probably with IR leds and an IMU.

Thanks. I had some issues at first but then ChatGPT helped. But man this kind of sucks still. The quality isn't great, and I can feel the latency. Sometimes the stream will just drop packets/frames randomly. One time it just dropped the connection permanently and I had to restart Steam client on the PC. The general latency feels surprisingly fine to me despite the reported values, but this is also my first venture into VR so I don't know how much better wired feels.
But yeah, the dropped frames is a major issue. I've seen people report having 0 issues with their reported latency averaging 5-9ms, and then there's me where both connections will average 12-15ms when not shitting themselves, and they get fucked pretty often, despite being <2m from the dongle and router both.
I had a day where it felt unplayable, and it took me until a second try in the evening to realize it was as simple as facing away and down while playing mini golf, causing my body to block the signal to the frame. Even now, simply facing away from the dongle/router can cause stutters, so I am tempted to go wired if I can't even freely turn anyway.
Since then I've found my most stable setup seems to be connecting to my router with the 6GHz frequency, and letting the frame host the 5GHz frequency. It makes the dongle connection absolute shit a lot of the time, but the frame as an AP is just not doing it even with 6GHz, so it can't be helped.

I think the latency is definitely noticeable even during the best conditions. Like if you open the headset's native dashboard and then move your head or controllers, you can notice the streamed view lags behind. But I notice it purely in-game too. It's just not as good as native on the headset for instance if I'm playing Pistol Whip which has a Frame build.
Anyway I might try to find a way to get multilink working then, although my router doesn't support 6GHz.

I might give a Wayland session a try to see if it actually matters, but in my experience, I've seen more complaints about the occasional small thing still not implemented in any commonly used Wayland compositors from the people I know that use it than make it seem worthwhile. I rarely if ever have issues with Xorg still. Maintenance mode doesn't mean it stopped working all of a sudden. I know at a minimum my screenshotting workflow will break on wayland though.

I think I saw why Superhot crashed my driver though. Things started to get super choppy in the headset this time, though looked smooth enough on the PC, so I checked and apparently it has some major GPU memory leak. At least the build I am using does.

Come launch Zenni is the official partner valve directs you to, and the design looks like it blocks the emitters, but I'm not sure. It encapsulates the emitters but they may still have line of sight. Haven't seen anyone call out zenni inserts for having a problem.

I slopped together an upscaler that works for vrc.
TAA is able to resolve more detail than native at times but definitely has some extra smearing I assume due to vr distortion.
FSR is pretty cheap so I don't see myself not using that at least.
I think it's only particularly useful because i have the BSB2E desu.
