The base game doesn't actually even support joystick/throttle (there is a mod), and while you can use your pedals it's not required at all. All of my gameplay is just with my VR controllers and it's the best experience because you'll have your hands up clicking the MFDs all the time.

There's really good haptics so I'm able to be precise, and I rest my arm on the chair to make it a bit more comfy.

It's designed for you to exclusively use your vr controllers, you can use pedals and I personally use them (though pedals are absolutely not required) but besides that you're clicking buttons alot of the time and it works very intuitively, same goes for the actual flying.

So Operation Flashpoint in VR is technically doable but man, is the AI as cracked as I remember it. You're shooting at pixels between trees 200m away hoping to hit and obviously you go down in one hit. Definitely one of those games that benefit from mouse aim because you'll be doing lots of pixel hunting.

The steam frame lower cams do have a large amount of vertical fov and can see a good amount of your lower body in certain positions.

That being said, the "fbt from headset cams" idea has already been pretty thoroughly explored by meta and its... okay, but not really good enough for anything besides generating plausible looking legs positions that look reasonably natural to others while walking but aren't at all precise or accurate.

So, imo, unlikely to be workable enough for your 'getting railed on a coffee table' use case.

Is it possible to fix chromatic aberration with a filter that's just the opposite colors? But I don't know how simple that is and if a filter can be both accurate and low latency. I'd like it for video and desktop mode though.

valve is being confusing in the spec sheet but there's a real chance that the frame device is 2x2 antenna shares link, which limits it to 160mhz bw. having 7 physical prods in the AP side might help with antenna diversity (packer error reduction) but it will not improve your bandwidth.
besides cranked-up bandwidth in a single band, especially if it's high freq like 5/6 GHz, really jacks up your packet error rate

Ok, did a quick test. I disabled 6Ghz on my regular network and made a 'VROnly' SSID on my Unifi U7Pro. Doesn't have 2.4/5 enabled, only 6ghz, only 320mhz. Able to connect, maxes out my internet connection (550Mbps down) on speedtest.net (not a stability test, just some quick info).

even if your AP is configured for 320, it will automatically limit the connection to upper/lower half of that 320 (only for that specific device's "turn", so other 320mhz devices in the network are unaffected) if the client in question maxes out at 160.
a 2x2 160mhz connection at a high enough mcs rate (device is close to the AP, no other devices are present in the same network, clear LOS, no 5/6ghz interferences) then it can easily approach 1gbps, so your test unfortunately doesn't help much in terms of determining the bandwidth limit of Frame's 6ghz link.
