I’ve looked into other communities because I can’t stand what /vrg/ has become, with 90% of the pre-groomed tourists who’ve flooded it via /trash/ over the past couple of years.
But for ssome reason other communities are somehow even worse! They’re so fragile that a single politically incorrect word is enough to get you dogpiled, denounced, and cast out. Of course, they decide what the incorrect word is, not you.
There’s no room for friction, no tolerance for anything that challenges their sensibilities. Everything has to be sanitized, everything carefully policed.
What frustrates me most is that I’ve reached a point where I can barely stand being in other vrc groups anymore. I can’t unsee the constant self-deception, the social posturing, the little lies people tell themselves and others to maintain whatever comfortable fiction they happen to live in. And the moment you point any of it out, you’re the problem. Not the dishonesty or the lies. Nope. Being confronted or open about that is the problem.

It's completely possible at this point if you've got the skill to fix certain issues. It's my understanding that several people here and on booth have already basically vibed a mesh into existence then retopoflow'd it back into the polygon land of the living. At that point it's mostly just dealing with/fixing weights which the ai an handle the first steps of. I believe it handles complex weighting as well as the geometry on things like hair horrendously though so it can be a lot of work to fix and also texturing it still kinda up in the air.

I'd have to go bug my friends about who they bought theirs from, and they've had them for a while now. I'd suggest just going to the Slime Dicksword and looking at their marketplace channel. Every seller worth considering tells you what IMUs they're using and also will have a bunch of user reviews, so you can do a modicum of research on if they managed to fuck it up or not. You can also make them yourself if you know how to solder and have a 3D printer handy to make the shells, but most of the marketplace sellers don't have an insane profit margin since they're just hobbyists doing it out of their basements as well as having the luxury to mass order components and get a discount, so unless you enjoy working on electronics, it's worth checking the marketplace. I would say that sleeping is going to be a challenging usecase for them because you're not moving much, likely, but drift over the 8 hours is inevitable, though if you're not worried about it after you're out for a bit, then it should be fine.

Nah, can't do that in my case. Mine is an avatar prefab, I've no idea how could I network the entire image through avatar logic, and I can't run entire VRCL rendering from one avatar for all people in the instance because it'd kill performance. My stuff is just meant to make VRCL more intuitive to use, prints would be both difficult and outside of what I wanted to do. Undeniably it would be cool, but oh well.

if anything, one thing i want to do would be a tripod on camera drop mode that locks position and restricts rotation while still allowing to rotate camera around in two axis, but that's for the future. Adding ideas to the pile is the best way to never ever get anything done

As someone who was there, I was pretty disappointed it didn't even have the same atmosphere as the either 2 ones, literally walked in right as the credits were rolling and everyone was leaving. All my shit was dead from being in vr all day and I went to get a 5pm coffee once there, but it was only 3 of us left so I just left to go bang out words on a processor instead. Haven't used VRClens at all but by the looks of it seems to have similar cameras as the other prefabs I've tried. But I assume since there's multiple ones there's some layering of the camera outputs to get the image. At the end is it not saved on it's own texture or is it always split into 2-4 textures? Well anyways I'd jsut be happy enough to get my hands on the prefab and could just do some of the weirder tinkering myself. Too many menues for me with using the lens and then having to drag your vrc camera with you at the same time didn't seem fun to me
