There are compromises involved in the cheap price.
Mainly tracking - you can only get accurate controller tracking in a certain region in front of the headset, which does not correspond with your VR field of view. You can't raise your arms above your head.
The tracking system is also the most computationally expensive of the three, and so degrades the most when your system is under stress.
The headset has a small sweet spot and the halo strap, while comfortable, allows a lot of wobble so it's pretty much always blurry.
Finally, there's the standards fragmentation issue, where as the newest platform WMR has the least support in SteamVR titles. It works, but you're not a first-class citizen.

There also may be build-quality issues but these take longer to shake out.
