they're okay if you can find them on sale, the inside out tracking works well unless you're putting your controllers behind you for a while, or putting them on the side or top of your head. so like pulling a bowstring back is pretty buggy, or if you scratch your head or dab it'll lose tracking.

controllers have a good set of buttons, the controllers aren't as ergonomic as the rift's and the game support is much more limited. so like for vrchat you have to use the trackpads for movement even though the thumbsticks exist.

if the price is close to the rift, just get the rift instead

The DK2 works perfectly fine in vrchat and steamVR, it's fully supported and not mistaken for another HMD. If you plug in a generic wireless game controller you've got a serviceable VR experience, even for standing play, although you'll have a few blindspots depending on distance and a huge one if you turn around. Also progress post for that oni-loving anon. She's really limited on shapekeys so I'm only doing a few basic overrides. I found an MMD model of her plate with and without fruit with fruit is 37k tris but I'm already using this as an experiment in unoptimisation so fuck decimating it that I'll use to compensate for the lack of facial expression on this model but for the nsfw one I'll have to make some custom shapekeys for you. Also her fingers are kind of scuffed for some reason with the weightpainting.

If someone had that short guide anon made about how to make decimation not tear as many holes in a mesh I'd really appreciate that for when I do an actually optimised version of her.

Nowadays I'm more or less fine with anything above 30 fps for regular VRC-style gameplay that consists of standing and walking around. I've also got to the point of video game movement where instead of running a straight line I do zigzagging jumps to get everywhere.

I've tried it, but the CPU usage is shockingly high. There's a popular streamer who uses voice to TTS who I asked about their setup, and they use what I'd been using and wouldn't divulge the details beyond that. Unfortunately, those details are what are tripping me up.
