I'm hoping so too and as a keen reminder I don't think there's a need or want for someone to coordinate the meetup at all. Rather we just get on at the same time and take it from there organizing things together in unity, probably in the thread I'd assume. If the anon or anyone else that wanted to make the slime girl is still around:
I feel like your best bet would be to use the "SF Hologram Shader" on your skin and maybe your hair. Because of its transparency, you'll probably want to delete the teeth, tongue, and the eye whites. The other part you'd want to add would be a puddle that covers the feet parented to nothing (so that it doesn't move up/ down oddly and stays on the ground), also using the SF Hologram shader.
If you atlas properly, you should end up with one material for the skin, puddle, and hair, then another one for the clothes and other accessories. The only problem I'd see is that you'd probably glow oddly on darker maps.
feel free to correct me if anything I said wouldn't work, though. I just thought about how to do it all like a month ago, but I would never play it anyways.

It wouldn't work, as the certificate for the runtime itself expired today, March 7th, 2018, at 1:00PM. Oculus seems to check the validity of said certificate on startup to make sure it's valid. Since the certificate expired, it's moreorless useless, and no proper working version exists unless you set your time back to before it expired. This, however, fucks with games that require a synchronized server and local time, like Rec Room for example. I saw the certificate stuff from earlier today and followed anon's steps.

You can't force social interaction, it's just gotta happen naturally. Honestly, the best thing about these /vrg/ meet-ups for people with social anxiety is that you are probably meeting a lot of people who share similar interests with you, thus making it a lot easier to talk to people.

Making another meetup would only work if you included a few volunteers from the regular group to help get things going, otherwise you'd just have a bunch of awkward mutes standing around, hell I'd even volunteer to help. I 100% support this idea because the meet-ups are TOO FUCKING BIG as they are already. I can't even fucking hear the person next to me sometimes in the meetups just because of how loud it is from everyone talking. If people want to branch off and do their own meetup, please do. Well, from what I've been reading of the posts, it seems like the problem for some of these newcomers or ones with social anxiety is the already established friends circles and feeling like they probably don't want to interrupt them, even if some people make an effort to make them feel included, so I think smaller groups, perhaps even just one on one meetups, might work better, especially if you've arranged beforehand for it to be with someone you know for sure shares common interests.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to be able to organize anything myself, but getting a smaller group going that has little contact with the current /vrg/ crowd would be at least an interesting option, for the reasons you gave. Eventually, we'll also keep growing, and we'll get too many people to all fit into a single group or to be friends with. Actually it already kind of happened, and you have people in the crowd who you might not interact much with or consider a "real" friend. Maybe it's better to just keep smaller friend groups that are separate from each other, so things are more manageable as our thread and community grows. Personally, I think the idea of a "/vrg/ meetup" in a singular sense, should probably be stopped. We're already seeing splinter groups anyway.
