Just seems odd since I assume most of the people here want to sound female because they want beta attention or because they wish they were girls IRL. Therefor it doesn't make much sense to me to sound male if you're looking for attention since 90% of the userbase sounds (and likely is) male. If it's just dysphoric in nature then I guess that makes some sense, but not quite as much.

I don't know much about lowering your voice, but going off typical voice training tutorials you want your voice to echo more from your chest region. I doubt a voice changer alone will be able to make you sound like a natural male, you'll need to work on meeting it half way.

Could try and aim for a trap sound or effeminent gay instead of regular guy. Also if you have VR make sure you're testing it with your headset's mic and not whatever you use on desktop. Flame had a good M to F changer going but when he got VR those settings were terrible.

The good news is that you can half-ass it a bit because there are some guys in the meetups that walk the line between male and female sounding voices.
As long as you do a moderately good job of speaking with male tones and inflection, people probably won't question it too much.

Rift offers a higher quality product and better hand controls, you also get some free games but that isn't much of a selling point. Also, the Rift is cheaper. The Vive is more expensive and the quality control is argued to be quite terrible, however it has arguably better tracking along with the (admittedly pricy) option of hip or hip and leg tracking for an additional $100 to $300. Both headsets can use a Kinect to aid in fullbody tracking but its a bit of a janky method. Do your own research next time.

Oculus Rift if you're on a budget and just want to use a headset with hand movement.

That's really the only difference between the two and their huge price gap. If you're going to be a casual and not taking VR too seriously then just stick to the Rift. There's no "more compatible with Steam" or whatever the hell that even means. VR games in Steam will tell you if they support the Rift or the Vive and most games support both now that Oculus has their touch controllers (which I feel are superior than Vive's dildo controllers). So there's your answer anon I say this as an Oculus user and I could give two shits about the Vive until the day I have a big enough room where VR would actually matter to me.

Windows Mixed Reality headset is as cheap as you can go while still getting something decently worth your money. Amazon sells them for around 200-300ish and they're more or less on par with the Oculus, but the sensor cameras are on the headset itself so you need to look at your hands/controllers every so often (aka every ten seconds or so) to ensure they're still calibrated correctly.

Even normalfags don't know how to become part of a new group without assistance. They've had a wide enough social circle for their entire life that every new group they've moved in to, they already know someone within it.

As far as I can tell, the only way to actually join a completely new group is someone within the group drawing attention to you repeatedly which is a matter of luck. If you try to make it happen, you'll come across as intruding and annoying.

Its difficult for someone who has not experienced social anxiety to understand what some one else with the same problem is going through, and for some people this can be extremely deliberating for their day to day lives. It has nothing to do with the fact that everyone in the meet ups is tame and welcoming, or that you think they are afraid of some people there because they might be "scary". It's just what social anxiety is, an irrational fear of social interactions, even if the person knows for certain that the people they meet are going to be nice and welcoming in general.

Meeting people who have a mutual understanding of what this is like is always easier, as evident by how ignorant you and some others in this thread are about it.

And so what if people split up a little bit so they could try and talk with people who have similar issues? Is there a reason to have a gigantic meet up? And even if people split up once in a while its not like they are forming an exclusive group, and can always join the main group. We see people splitting off during meet ups anyway. And eventually we are going to reach a point where meet ups are too big to be hosted in a single instance.

I have extreme anxiety in specific situations, so bad that I can't even handle working a job before getting panic attacks, I'm severely depressed to the point I fantasize about suicide (but only as a joke ha-ha-ha)
When I first joined a meetup, I was a mute for all of 3 hours before I got so insanely bored I just started to do random meme shit and butted into conversations; I was nervous, sure. I though I was being a dick but at this point I realized "I'm either gonna stay here for ages and be irrelevant or just make an ass out of myself and never come back, or just have fun"
Nobody got upset, and I fit in like I was part of the convo the entire time.

Talking doesn't make you a normalfag, and while I empathize with people who are too nervous to talk, I don't SYMPATHIZE with them. The small meetup is being formed with the purpose of eventually integrating so I don’t see anything wrong with the idea. I just hope you guys don’t exclude others yourselves. You will need to come up with a way to include people from the larger meetup who might want to drop by. In fact, you might even want them to drop by and maybe you can meet some of the regulars on terms that are more comfortable. You should understand that if you guys don’t reign in your fears and don’t actually organize properly, that this really could cause a split.
