My case is the opposite. I do fine in person, but over the Internet both out and in VR I lock up and panic attack so hard when trying to talk it's not worth the trouble, in anything where not doing so is a conceivable option.
I half got VR out of curiosity of how close the immersion would get me to my IRL sociability, but it's still the same as for any other game, so I stay mute.

Why does my audio (Left/Right) get reversed when I plug my headphones into the vive cord? Temporary easy fix is just wearing them reversed but that's silly, it gets fixed for a while whenever I completely reconnect the vive box.
