I only started coming regularly in 2007. I had looked on the site from as early as 2004, but didn't really understand the appeal before it had a fast post rate. That said, I liked the higher post quality of 'night time' while it still existed.

Honestly, I've got no qualms with the group. It's easily too large for it's own good with VRChat's tendency to chug to hell and back with our numbers, but in terms of personalities I'm more than happy with everyone.
The groups might be separated, but they are easily permeable. There's very little to no "requirements" to make your way in, just interact and you're good.

Now, my perspective is just from someone who joined in on the last two months. I can see that from someone longer it might be a drastic change, but I personally don't feel it's a deadly one or one that can't be adapted to.
I will say that the group is large enough where the necessary hurdle to interact isn't so much just existing but also vocally or writing out direct peer-to-peer contact. That I can easily understand being something that can create unease, as much as I'm certain no one in the meetups themselves would ever hold you accountable for your successes or failures.

Overall this is all a great place for me to interact with friendly, like-minded individuals while talking and listening about every topic under the sun. And a plus side of being a good creative outlet for me as well in a field I enjoy.

It can only track hands in-front and I don't think it tracks translation of headset position so you're stuck standing up straight like a desktopper and can only move with the analog.

It can track body position so you can lean, squat and stuff, the hand tracking gets iffy when out of sight for prolonged periods from what I've seen but quick out of sight movements work fine.

If they had some accessory base station you could get to make hand movement tracking when out of view perfect, then I would get a WMR instantly no questions, it is just slightly iffy with the hand controls.
