"VR time" truly is an eternity compared to real time. I'd only been gone a few weeks and, besides my birthday, ever since I came back I feel like a stranger at my first meetup again. It makes me feel really anxious much like my first days and weeks of /vrg/. When I go to meetups now I feel a majority of the people who I thought I was friends or at least comfortable with just say a quick hello if that before running off to join their new friends or old friends that they've grown closer to in the time I was gone. It makes me feel like maybe we were never friends at all or that I was replaceable. But I'd rather not shit up the thread by continuing to discuss this here. I wouldnt know how else to optimize my map any better, the entire map is a total of 50 draw calls max from any angle. the lights are now all baked, and most of the textures are low res and atlased. the worst culprit in the scene is the skybox now, which is entirely GPU bound(which i have verified doesn't contribute to the cpu load of vrchat). I would love for suggestions to optimize the map, but I've had the map full at 40 people and at worst gotten 25fps.

To elaborate on what >>213516330 is getting at, 'clingyness' is about the value you're putting on your time with the not the time itself. If you can't handle them not being around for a bit or hate seeing them spend time with people other than you that's clingy. Spending 12 hours being comfy with someone isn't necessarily clingy for example, if at any time during those 12 hours they could have left and you wouldn't feel like you needed more.

For Skyrim VR specifically, I find it a nice little package. It's the exact same game you've probably already played, but stuff like the "realistic sneaking" do squats all the fucking time and the archery are neat ways to interact with the game. Far better than what I heard the turd that Fallout 4 VR was.
In terms of the overall system however it's far from being something I'd say is good enough to warrant the price tag of the headset.

If you can try out a demo real with a headset and see how you like it, but overall VR is still really in it's early years in terms of making a good game so if you aren't wow'ed by anything in particular or aren't a social autist wanting to break out of their shell in VRChat, I'd say continue waiting.

It's not really a consumer product yet. It feels like purchasing dev equipment that doesn't just intuitively work and has major flaws. The controls and general implementation feel like stepping back decades in game design to the point where no-one really knew exactly what worked properly. Most games are extremely shallow or shitty.

However, it does work. You will forget you can't put your controllers down on the table in game and that you can't actually fall off an edge. It allows control possibilities that a keyboard and mouse can never emulate, like making reloading a manual skilled process instead of essentially a cooldown. You may even start hallucinating the body warmth of someone next to you. It's either going to be the best thing you've ever experienced in games, or a huge hassle and gimmick, depending on your mindset.

Better option is to make a copy of your material with the emission map changed, then swapping the material in that slot during the animation. I think I've brought this up a few times before, but I've never gotten a definitive answer (perhaps nobody knows) - I know you can use youtube videos to sync music in a world. I also know you can bundle the music files themselves with the world and just have the players download them upon loading the world.
But what I haven't heard of is streaming the files from an ftp server or similar. Streaming from youtube is clunky and the script used for it is atrocious, while forcing users to download an entire playlist at once is arguably worse. But streaming just audio files from a dedicated server is lightweight as fuck, and something I would have though is the most intuitive solution.
What gives? Is it not "possible" in VRChat, or do people just really like youtube?

Can someone link me to some good guides on fixing issues with full body tracking? I want to give it a good go to get Teto working as best as possible with it before I give up. I want my viewport to be as accurate as possible (in different positions) and avoid having my neck/ neck belt in my view when sitting down/ leaning back.

The order I use:
1. go into tpose and wear the avatar
2. adjust player height until the avatar's legs are straight
3. open up advanced settings and adjust the HMD world offset in a mirror until I'm looking eye-to-eye with my avatar
4. adjust the offsets for left and right controllers by the same amount as the head

This doesn't help the arm length not matching real arm length but it's either bent legs from the wrong player height or the "full body hunch" where the avatar hunches forward to match the position of real hands relative to hips/feet. It's an unavoidable problem when avatars are different from real life proportions.

The reason why everyone may or may not recommend different things is cause everyone has a different model, has a different body-size irl and has a different posture. This all plays a very important role in full body-tracking. There is no perfect solution as you adjust your skeleton, viewball and perhaps trackers to your model. First of all you gotta make sure there are no issues with your model in full-body.
such as fully stretched when standing up, your trackers being as close to your model's feet as possible and being able to fully stretch your arms. Chanses are you'll have to sacrifice being able to fully stretch your legs for rotating your feet, again you set this up to your preferences. After you've confirmed that your body moves how you want it, you gotta move on to the head. What I personally do is move the viewball a bit more to the front of my head, because when I sit down the viewball goes inside my body. Again, it's all a bit of adjusting and may take some time, but once you've done all the adjustments, you'll never have to do it again. Untill you change to a different model that has a different body-size.

Adjusting player height scales everything around you including your avatar. If you set it to your real height it usually matches head:arms 1:1 and just raise or lower the floor.
In full body the floor is near the position of your foot trackers so it will probably make the avatar bend knees unless the ratios of head:hip:foot match perfectly to you irl proportions. So instead of using your real height, you can adjust until you get an arbitrary one that lines up those tracking points. But then the virtual arms will be shorter/longer.

Unless you design the avatar from scratch to match yourself irl you will always have to compromise like this.

5.56 always at least knocks out in two hits(limb), or three on armour. Minimum damage any gun does is 7 which is a limb hit on a 9 mm round, so you've got a maximum of three hits to knock out, unless it repeatedly hits armour in which case it will take seven which is the only case where any enemy will appear to tank damage, but in reality a level III or IV plate would take a hell of a lot more.

Actually, I got it wrong because I forgot to apply the damage multiplier, it's 5 to knock out on torso protected body armour. Three hits are stopped leaving 4 AP, the fourth breaks it and the remaining three damage is doubled to leave 19 HP, another hit does 14 damage to give 5 HP where they're knocked out and will bleed out in about a minute.
