Faith doesn’t deserve this crap

Here's the truth of this matter.

It all began a month ago when the thread began getting flooded with shitposts about Arrowslash being a stalker.

It was at this time that we began to discover the lore behind Arrow. He was a mutetopper from /trash/ who had taken a liking to trapanon but had apparently come on too strong and pissed him off.

Trapanon then revealed what happened to a certain "friend" who proceeded to shitpost the thread about Arrow to try and turn the group against him.

We should note that this friend, to this day, has yet to post any logs of their discussion with trapanon over the matter and refuses to show any kind of proof of the allegations or that he even truly is a friend of trapanon's.

To my knowledge Arrow himself never brought up the matter in the thread or tried to defend himself. On the contrary, he seemed terrified by the attention and quickly made himself scarce. He's still probably a huge fag and stalker but there's no evidence he's doing any of the shitposting.

Thus it's clear all of the malice is coming from one side.

We've been told that trapanon was trying to move past the incident yet here we are still getting posts about it and finding out new information about him leaving Discords over Arrow and conspiring with moderators to keep him out.

Even if we ignore this and assume trapanon was being sincere, why would this "friend" continue to bring up the drama when trapanon was supposedly trying to put it in the past? Why would they continue to air their supposed friend's dirty laundry and keep fighting this war? That isn't normal behavior no matter how you cut it.

Because this concerned "friend" doesn't exist.

There's only one person the shitposting could be originating from.

Greetings /vrg/. I started playing VRchat recently and have really been enjoying it, and have been looking to try the other VR games for a while now. However, I don't have a headset yet and am currently using an AMD R9 280X as a graphics card (the rest of the system is VR-ready). If I bought the headset first (likely a Vive original), would I get good performance from the SteamVR quality scaling or should I just wait for the next Nvidia cards to come out and get a 1160/1170 and headset at the same time? /vrg/ is shit and was pretty much doomed. Discussion in this general should be VR technology, and VR games. We have been piggybacking off VRChat for 6 months because VR is too small of a market and too young to stand on its own. Because of VRChat being a social game people have taken to namedropping in threads, both to put some people on a pedestal and shit on others. Its hard to call us a 4chan group anymore. We really aren't anything special, in fact we're pretty tame compared to some of the player groups out there. We have a ton of people who get their feelings hurt very easily, and that doesn't help when they shit up the threads because of it. We probably have some dedicated shit stirrers as well, ultimately it doesn't matter if they're one of us or from somewhere else. Screenshots and videos from VRChat and other VR games should be the primary content we see in the thread here, but again its all a bunch of namedropping and VRFU posting. Please report VRFU posts, please report namedrop posts. Take more screenshots and videos and contribute them to the thread. Try out new VR games, research VR technology, bring what you see and learn to the thread and discuss it here. If you see an on topic post that interests you, respond to it and contribute to a higher level of dialogue. If you want to post about VRFUs and stuff like that I don't care how many Discords you're a part of, just don't post it here.

Rift > Vive, cheaper starting point for a higher quality product. If you want fullbody you'll have to pay extra, but I consider that worth it for a more reliable product in the form of your headset and controllers. For GPU I'd want the best I can get, but if you plan on upgrading anyways you can buy a headset and if you're not satisfied with current performance you can just wait until you upgrade.

The problems came from the jelly/stalker shit oddly enough. Anons who are malicious decided they were comfortable shitting on people's names using the thread. The more namedropping happened the more anons in this thread grew comfortable posting about it/shitposting. The only way to fix things now is to just report any motherfucker who references identity unless its somebody like yuru who lets people into the meets. If we return to namedropping being in poor taste then anons will be less inclined to shitstir.

So Rift > Vive if you want to go cheaper, but Vive is better if you can afford the extra? I tried both at a games convention, the Vive had no trouble in tracking seated or standing play but the Rift kept losing my controllers in seated play with only the camera on the desk (the controllers with the grip buttons on the inside, I don't know if they're the default or some new type).

Vive isn't really better, its hand controllers are worse than the Rift and break easier. It has a wider field of view but more screen door effect. Its controllers need to be plugged in to charge unlike the Rift where you can hotswap batteries in the middle of playing. Vive's main advantages are easy 360 tracking out of the box (you can spin in a circle and have tracking no matter where you face) a longer cord (I think), and you don't need 3 usb 3.0 ports out of the box. I didn't realise Rift lets you connect an extra sensor, it seems like that fixes all the tracking problems people had with just the 2(?) included sensors. Zuck the chucklefuck definitely put me off too but I can use a different email I guess. I can't remember what the Rift looked like but I feel you on the Vive screen door effect. I got used to it quickly but it was very noticeable when I first put it on. Got plenty of USB ports so no worries there. Pretty much the only thing I can think to worry about is where I'd put the extra sensor if I want both seated and stand-up play, but I can figure that out when it happens.

The third sensor does help whenever you have your back to the sensors and the controllers close to your chest. The sensor placement is pretty forgiving actually, as long as they're covering your blind spots. I have mine about .5m off the ground, 1m and 1.5m respectively sitting on various shelves, and I don't notice much blinding unless I'm prone, or hugging my VRpillow.

I've already been banned for 3 days twice in the past on /vg/ for reporting people and having their posts get deleted, but also mine as well because mods aren't the smartest people and like to accidentally shotgun ban sometimes. As an Oculus fbt user I wouldn't trade for a Vive. I like my hand controllers and headset, and any struggle to setup fullbody is minimal. For those who are upgrading, single core CPU strength is the main bottleneck to VRChat. A 1080TI won't be that big of an improvement over a 1060 6 Gb if you have a shitty processor. It's better to pick up one of the overclockable intel 8th gen processors than to get a 1080TI if your main goal is to improve performance in VRChat. You can find a i7 8700K + mobo bundles for around $400-$500 if you look around.
