Yes, that's what it's always like. If you don't already know someone extremely well or you're not the loudest person in the room, you're completely invisible and will be ignored for hours on end. If you're lucky you might get a few seconds of headpats. I think a lot are blocking avatars by default as well, because they'll totally ignore you even if you stand in front of them. I guess they just see a grey torso blocking their view and have no idea where the voice is coming from.

AFAIK, for humanoid rigs, the game takes every vertex _assigned_ to the head bone or a child of the head bone and scales it to zero. I don't think weight painting itself matters, so maybe you can assign your hair bones to your head but weight paint them to your chest/hips so they still look right without using dynamic bones, but also don't block first-person view.

If you're comfortable posting them, it'd be easier to help with bender/in-game screenshots of your problem and weights.

I can probably count on one hand the number of people who would actually balk and complain if someone new ran right in and started talking. Now of course jumping right in won't always steer the conversation into your direction but the vast majority of people here will happily let others in. Don't even have to worry about any physical wall of people since there's no collision between players.

Anyways Initial Forest Test MP was a success but learned some things. Namely we need discord because they require you to use the walkietalkie for voice chat, even for proximity, so you may as well have a voice chat at some point. Its a survival game with naked cannibals that may or may not be canadian. It has a "story" and spooky caves to traverse and fight int he dark in.

You can customize the VR controls relatively well, snap turning / smooth turning. toggle crouch or VR-crouching. analog/touchpad movement or movement based on camera, etc.

max server size is 8, but you can edit that for dedicated servers. Ill probably be switching it to peer to peer steam though by adding me to friends because as is you cannot type in VR-mode right now which makes it impossible to type passwords in as far as i can tell

Word gets out about it and people love shitting on games that arent doing well because it gives them something to relate and agree on.
Not trying to make excuses for games that fail to improve and adapt to issues but it sucks that this happens to games which might have improved had they had a reason to cater to more than the ~20 people actually frequent them.
