Oculus Avatars is a cross platform avatar system/API or will be soon, and Oculus Home Core 2.0 started getting custom model importing support relatively recently. We all know how much they like Ready Player One so obviously they're probably working on making an avatar system that will eventually support custom models and full body.

Liv is a tool that aids in the creation of third person camera views of your VR gameplay, but among other things, it allows you to display yourself in that view as a custom avatar, and that can be carried throughout all footage of games it works with. Not sure if it has an API that allows it to be integrated straight into games, but that would be an interesting move and one that would move us towards a universal cross platform avatar system.

Such a thing is only a matter of time. The question is who will do it and in such a way that they win over developers and users.

But man I sure wish we had something like that right now, among a lot of other software that would be nice to have.

Talking from the perspective of someone else who kind of feels like there's no one who really talks with me consistently all the time outside of VRChat, other than maybe one anon, it's because a lot of us are just kind of the same. We lack initiative to get to know each other better, and a lot of us fall into the habit of interacting with too many people but not enough with a few. Some of us are better or worse at it. If you find someone with similar interests or things you think you can relate with, by all means hit them up and talk with them more and try to talk in a tone itself that is kind and welcoming. There's also the problem where people just don't get the opportunity to open up about such things just as you have experienced, so take the initiative to create opportunities where you can show people what kind of person you yourself are. You can even be persistent about getting someone's attention. Honestly I love it when people try to grab my attention for something, it makes me feel desired in some way. Be the change you want to see, there are definitely others out there similar to you. And really this advice should apply to everyone because it goes both ways.

We should all just quit at this point. Socializing used to be fun, but now that everyone has split off into their groups it's nearly impossible for the in-betweeners to find reasons other than making shit to come back. Picked up Dead Effect 2 VR and it's kind of medicore in terms of gunplay and tension after playing take and hold in H3.

Come to think of it, Dead Effect 2 VR is overall kind of medicore. Afternoon /vrg/ sorry to interrupt the VRChat discussion, but hoping the pastebin mention of setup discussions being welcome here is accurate.

Bought my first headset this week (Dell Visor, specs seemed better than anything that isn't Vive Pro of Primax and significantly cheaper)

Not thinking ahead I now realise VR without room-scale is pointless so looking to extend the HDMI and USB cables to a room downstairs.
Taking into account the 3.5m cables already on the headset I would need up to 5m extra, though only if I were lying down in the far corner of the room so I guess even 4m would do.

Random googling seems my options are:

Well, it's just a prototype, and it was done and open sourced by Leap Motion, so more of a thing to show off Leap Motion's uses in AR and not just VR. The important thing is to buy a quality cable or repeater. The first time I tried to extend my vive cable out it didn't work because the signal drop was too great for that distance. I had to get a cable that was better insulated and rated for a 50' run but then it was able to work fine. So, if you run into issues that would be where I would check first.

"Cool" is subjective and everyone has a different definition of it. Quite a few regulars in vrg fit my definition of cool and thus I hang out here. Hibecca is cool and U-511 is cool. Them being a minor has no affect on their coolness factor.

This is how things are, the people who have crashers have tried to crash and get the problem out that way. They were reported and put down in that form. Nukes was verbal and he did get votekicked in a room stuffed with the usual orbiter squad. Those situations are vocal opposition. The silent opposition is people being uncomfortable as soon as they show up with their squad. Its a displacement problem and its strong enough to get people to leave. This is an issue where more people have a problem then some would like to admit. If you truly have a problem with this, speak the fuck up, talk to somebody who speaks on these subjects, and work with the meetup bullshit instead of trying to force it your way by shitting up the thread, that will only be taken as shitposting. You have to speak outside of the thread if you want this to change, and you can do so just by talking around a little bit, its really not that hard.
