A lot of it has to do with where I live and how I choose to spend my money. I stuck it out slumming it in a job that paid less than I was worth because the cost of living in the area offset it... OR... stay where I'm at and apply at every position I see until I'm in a position to earn what I'm worth, WITH the benefit of a lower cost of living. Eventually that happened.
Not being in a major city has massive benefits as long as the internet is good, imho.

The last USGS report (in 2013) said that the chance of an 8.0+ was 7% in the next 30 years, and that could happen anywhere on the fault, including way out in areas far enough from population centers to do only minor damage. Mirage is neat but it doesn't do nearly enough, it's essentially a desktop visualiser projected into a 3D VR scene and while that's impressive for a moment you quickly realise that it isn't actually doing anything with the technology.
We need a visualiser built from the ground up to really make use of the capabilities of VR;
Don't just have the player standing still, have them able to move around in room-scale
Don't just have the player watch, have them able to interact with the visualisation on the fly, let them use their hands to manipulate what is happening. Make it a real VR experience as opposed to just watching something on a VR headset.

VR audio visualisation could be something incredible and beautiful but it isn't right now.

oh and like streams in the sense of cutting/cropping shapes that would be on a display and are still Windows-based. So if you want a wide but short display for a Discord up top, you'd scale your own Discord window as such and then essentially 'atlas' that to the place you'll want it on the in-VR display. And then you can add extra graphical fluff around it or make it translucent green with scanlines or whatever.

I've already hit shift at startup and changed resolution to 720p and settings to vrlow, what the heck do I need to do to get 90 fps in vrchat?
