Who should I add to lose my vr-ginity?

Not going to lie, I felt something super bizarre in VR Chat for the first time even though I'm banking in at almost 300 hours for said game. Someone I recently made friends with from /vrg/ joined me on some pub world I was on and I backed up from the group I was around so I could hear them better. Next thing I know his tiny avatar is rubbing my hand from finger to palm with his own hands, but the size between our avatars force them use two hands to caress anything. I focused in on it while ignoring the discussion distant from us and it almost felt like he was legitimately caressing my hand physically even though it was virtual reality. Then while they continued they spoke about phantom pain and how so people treat it with mirrors and the like.

The whole time though all I could think about was Venom Snake from MGSV. Is this a taste of what it feels like that even know you're not physically there, your brain assumes otherwise?

I peeked back a couple of threads and it looks like someone wanted a review of Zone of Enders for VR.
I only just got it tonight because it looked cool as fuck. Never had any prior experience of the series, only new it was robots and shit. Had to look into things online to have a better understanding of the background info for the series but thats fine. What really matters is the port itself.
All combat so far, and probably for the whole game, has been VR from the cockpit. After 800+ hours of lag, screenshakes, and crashes in VRChat nothing in this game so far has come close to phasing me. I haven't noticed any framedrops with a GTX 1060 and i5 4670 non-k, but I'm bad about noticing them in the first place.
Cutscenes aren't quite as immersive, you're in an empty black space with a large screen in front of you playing the videos and such. It isn't too bad but the 3d cutscenes in particular are a loss. Obviously they were already recorded so why make more work but I do wish they could have been in a full 3d space that you could look around. The 2d cutscenes seemed a bit low resolution and blurry, but thats probably a result of the game being originally released 15 years ago.
Just the other night I was wondering when we were going to get games for VR that aren't fucking Skyrim, some indie dev piece of bleh or VRChat. Although its just a port I'm excited to see shit that is actually fun come to VR. Obviously I wouldn't buy a headset just for this game, but if you have one and 30 or 40 bucks to spare I'd highly recommend it for ACTUAL FUCKING GAMEPLAY.

I've started opening up the model files that I extracted from the arc files. Here is what seems to be Pokke village, but viewed from the opposite camera angle than the one you see in the games. I was expecting this, but most of the backs of everything isn't modeled. And now I'm not sure I even want to do anything with this especially as I've no idea how to actually apply the textures to this nor how to do it efficiently because there are like a bajillion separate meshes in this thing and I'm a blender dummy.

I'm not very experience with ripping tools, but I assume it ripped the textures as well as the models themselves. So check the mesh and see if it already references the texture and then maybe press the "Shadeless" button to get it visible?

The backs are going to be a real trick though, probably just have to manually add them in yourself which would be a lot of work.
On the plus side the hunting fields themselves probably won't need as much since you have full camera control in them.

Alright, so update on this. It turns out they do have UVs at least, and I can apply textures to them and it does work. But, like, I have to do it manually, and I have to do it by trial and error because the filenames are different. And even if go through that, it's going to be a pain trying to fill in gaps, I know little about blender and even less about modeling.

I'll save you the trouble. The starting point is finding a MMD model you like on deviantart or bowlroll and importing it. There's plenty of small challenges along the way that will introduce you to how 3d models work and familiarize you with the software. Go look for a tutorial on youtube for importing MMD to vrchat and follow the steps. Show us your work so we can help out.

It's hundreds of hours experience from know-nothing to making your own avatar from scratch. If that time is worth more to you than your money, by all means find someone to do a commission, but don't pay those hacks at vrctraders.

It's worth it to learn. Like you, I had zero modeling skill when I started but I've become good enough that I can piece together avatars very well and have like a dozen different outfits. If you commission an avatar you will be stuck with it forever, if you learn a little bit you can keep it fresh. We have a lot of events for themed avatars, so you get a constant return on what skills you do learn.

Yes, the events have been great practice and great motivation. but I worry that we're shooting up in overall complexity since new players are a smaller part of the group than at the start of the year. When I was new even a simple green pallet swap for Saint Patrick's Day took a while to figure out. Compare that to the recent Dungeons and Dragons theme which would have been very challenging for new players.

I shoot until my gun has no bullets left, the game tells me to reload by taking a magazine from my bag. None of my bags give me anything, I have not seen ammo laying around, It is not an option in the buy menu. All I can do is steal another person's gun and hope it has enough bullets in it for one more kill, wherein I will steal that person's gun and so on and so forth.
