VRG was attempting to talk about games, it may of been a limited amount of people, but it was about games.
VRChat gets bored so they come here to spam screenshots and try to get the other threads deleted.

Absolutely nothing of relevance was posted from the vrchat side in that entire incident, meanwhile the non-vrchat thread was attempting to make an actual on-topic general. And it gets ruined, why? The problem with Side A is that they argued like a brain damaged 10 year old
The problem with Side B is that they paid far too much attention to the brain damaged autist and not enough attention to the legitimate complaints voiced by that side of the argument, pasting far too loosely with the "reee shitposters" label
In the arguments prior to the thread split Side B was objectively more mature on average albeit Side A being weighed down by 1 or 2 really braindead people who like to yell a lot, which is EXACTLY what happened in the pedophile episode, and nearly exactly what happened in the ebin discord episode

Put it in a slot, then press the middle of the touchpad/analog so it turns blue. Then you can take a duplicate out. So I tried out NeosVR. It's neat in a weird sort of tilt brush/oculus medium sort of way. You get "brushes" which you can use to paint geometry and materials and stuff, all in VR, and you get similar sort of pinch to zoom in/out too. Somehow it saves all this, then you can upload the stuff you make as a "world", and drop portals, similar to VRChat. No unity required, all in game.

However, there content that was actually there was pretty uncompelling. There are 50 or so worlds sitting as little portal balls, but it's all sort of ugly standard-shaded type stuff as far as I saw. There is a neat scripting system in there, but I didn't see any sort of gameplay implemented as of yet.

Also I can't figure out how to import avatars. I know there are videos of people using them, and there's this half-filled out wiki that mentions that it's possible, but no actual instructions. If you import a rigged fbx though you get 3-point IK that you can mess around with. Somehow you bind that to your body, and there ya go, anime. How modify the shader to not be spooky is yet a mystery.

Some anon last thread mentioned exploring NeosVR tomorrow. I'll be there if it happens.

after playing today the stock struck me as a personal preference thing for most situations desu
it's only an objective improvement for scopes (which are actually usable now) and long range in general, and is a significant crutch in cqb until you drill reloading quickly, which is already extremely easy without a stock
I was equally successful with nothing but a glock vs the stock and m4 due to inexperience and it not being an insta-win, likely mostly due to the aforementioned inexperience slowing everything you do down slightly, like reloading, which is an automatic process before, actually taking a second in cover to complete, making you far more predictable

Is there a trick to using the Oculus Home reward cubes?
I've noticed that they seem to "charge up" if you hold them and don't release, does this affect the rewards inside?
I've not had any of the summer pack rewards, nor have I had any of the Halloween pack rewards, nor have I had anything fun to play with, no extra lightguns, no extra bows, no catapults no neat interactive items or anything.

I just have stacks of 9 of each painting, shelf, rug and chair.

I've experimented with releasing them at various charge levels, I've experimented with throwing them at different things in my VR home, i've experimented with doing these in different places of my home. Nothing seems to change, it's always just paintings and shelves. I've been opening these fucking things since the beta home first became available to us, i've opened hundreds of boxes and not had a single "useable" item like a bow or gun but i'm seeing other people with fucking holy light bows and stacks of pistols of various types, particle emitters, screens, holograms etc etc.

The dialogue controls for VR are fucking busted, the VR controls in general are terrible really. The models and art style are top tier in my opinion though, they look really great in VR. The PP system is kinda fucked, and isn't explained at all. Certain beatmaps are "hard" to it, yet I find them easy to play through, and vice versa.

Besides the meme global rank, I consider myself a medium-good player. I have S rank on all the built-in songs (except ghost voices, fuck that), SS rank on one, and full combos on about half. My cuts still aren't as clean as I like.

I recommend downloading the "hit score visualizer" in the mod installer. It adds the usual rhythm game "bad" "good" "excellent" markers to your hits, to make you feel worse about not getting 100+ every time.

There's a few songs that just have a double swing down hit at the very beginning, that I've restarted over and over on to try to get 110 on each block. I've managed to do it exactly once. I accidentally bumped one of my sensors slightly and forgot about it. Then in game I was constantly getting little shifts of the world, depending on which way i was facing. Like I'd look a little bit left then everything would lurch upwards by 10cm. Redoing the room setup fixed it though.

I played like 10 songs tonight. Three of them were ranked and even though I'm still getting B rank on expert my scores jumped up a lot.
Went from like 61,000 to 58,000.
I got a couple of A ranks on the stock songs on hard. So I'm improving a bit. Though I could jump up ranks a ton if I played songs that gave me points.
Like Black Betty by Spiderbait really should give you a good chunk of points. It's not easy at all, but it gives you nothing.

Black Betty, Rasputin, and Bass Slut are good for showing improvement. Bass Slut is even good for points. Those ones are when I realized I was getting the hang of the game and was proficient. Eventually you'll hit 2 walls: you can't physically last/move enough to do things, this comes with time, and you can't register notes fast enough mentally which just starts being an issue of "Will my arms magically register these and move without me consciously thinking about it", which starts to get really fucking weird when they start doing complex movements independently of you. As a fan of rhythm games I have to say it is excellently presented but too easy.
And the VR is 100% tacked-on afterthought tier, it adds nothing.

OHHHHH FUUUUUUUUUUUCK this rhythm game discussion just jogged my memory of something;

When my computer died and had to be wiped clean and reinstalled I lost my copy of Mungyodance 3 + patches (Yeah I know, I apologise for my dreadful taste) this game actually had a very important place in my heart for many years and I was careful to keep a copy of it just in case but would you believe it i've gone and lost the drive that copy was on also!
Now, I'm not super computer savvy and i've been having no luck finding a torrent (It was removed for download by the developer many years ago) and even though i'd not actually played it in many months I feel its loss quite heavily. I don't suppose any of you lads could maybe help me out? I doubt anyone here has a copy themselves but you may be more "up to date" on being able to source it perhaps?

It's some software algorithm applied to the beatmap, it's not a manual ranking. I think it gets fooled by high bpms and double/triple note hits, so you could probably game the system a bit and make humanly-easy maps that are worth a ton of PP.

NeosVR is a "metaverse engine". It was developed out of an educational VR program and focuses highly on in app creative tools. You could think of it like a bit like tilt brush meets VRchat. I have not tested it's social capabilities so I have no idea whatsoever how jank they'll be. It's still in active development and has a decent engine so far. It's something to keep an eye on.

I've had fun playing around in the local space importing various thing. At it's current stage of development I see it more as a neat tool than a social VR program.

It's also the easiest way to view cad models in VR if that's something you'd use. All you have to do is install freecad and it can use the dlls to auto import any .stp models you throw at it.
