The panels are the same as used in the Vive Pro, there's little to no god rays, the built in headphones are good, the built in microphone is good but quiet unless you use something to boost its level (Windows 10 removed microphone boost from USB microphones for some odd reason), and the HMD tracking its self is pretty good. The weak point is that the controllers are tracked inside out, which means it's somewhat limited to only in the field of view of the sensors built into the headset, which is a bit larger than what you yourself see. You can reach out of the sensors view, behind you, and etc - it uses accelerometers to roughly estimate your controller's position - but it's not as precise as Vive or Oculus, and it loses tracking after a couple of seconds outside of the field of view.
I generally like mine. I prefer it over the Vive, but you should try both before you buy either.

Is there a discord group for world building? I've been working on a world for a couple months now but It seems like progress on it keeps stagnating. I spend too much time on small things, have a horrible workflow, and am very inconsistent with design. It leaves me burnt out. Outside of asking questions, I haven't really had any interaction with other world creators in /vrg/. I have a tiny ass room. The only way I can make like 1m of space is to move a ton of stuff to my bros room, but I'm not a dick, so I just leave one large box in there till I put it up in the loft next time I go up there.
Plus what also makes it pointless is that I can't move my chest of drawers or my wardrobe so I'd probably walk into them still if I made that space. So my stuff goes on the wall between them stacked up.
The whole house is messy overall because I usually clean it on my days off, but I've been playing games more lately so it's overdue a big clean.

The screen emission is kind of tricky to get working. You have to make sure that the gameobject with your meshrenderer has the VRC_CustomRendererBehaviour component on it with "Update GI Materials Every Tick" checked, that all the geometry you want "lit" has a realtime ambient lightmap on it, and that there are enough light probes around the screen to light dynamic objects (avatars). You also may have to "copy" the screen onto another quad, with the emission intensity cranked way up in order to visibly affect the scene.

I don't think the emissive screen itself affects framerate, my mirror works fine beside an emissive. It's not the same as a realtime light, it only affects the precomputed ambient GI system. Mirrors do tank framreate in general though, always have them on local toggles. And turn down the antialiasing to 1x.

If I had to describe neosVR, it's very much like a multiplayer VR unity editor or tilt brush, that just happens to have spatialized voice chat. Social stuff is a sideshow, not the focus, like it is in VRChat. You can import files from your computer and it'll upload them straight into the world for everyone to see. Webm related shows the process for rigged fbxs. More examples of this in later videos

Case in point, movement isn't constrained by gravity at all, and there's no set scale. You can pinch the world in at will, and there's teleport movement, stick movement with gravity, and "fly movement" where you just fly in the direction your stick is pointing. It does 90deg snap turning by default, but I turned that off in the settings.

Here I finally figure out how to attach a rigged avatar to myself. Just using the same fbx that I use for vrchat. You adjust the "viewball" and handballs in game, then hit a button and it becomes an "avatar" object that you or anybody else can jump into. Still can't handle full motion turning in VR, and I'm unsure if I ever will.
I can handle about half an hour of it max before I feel like puking. If I push for an hour it can actually make me feel sick for up to half a day (a couple hours these days but when I first played on my PSVR I was sick for a whole day after a couple hours)
I can snap turn and teleport for hours though. VRChat is very comfy. I can play that for like 3 hours just fine.
The game that got me feeling sick right now was Subnautica. Though I hear if one plays standing and turns with their body and not with the stick it improves a bit.
I've had to get the desk fan out. I've not had to do that for months. I'll be alright in an hour.
I also think because Subnautica is glitchy too. Like when I played it the UI isn't layered right. Some of it is too close and some of it is too far.

It's worth noting that currently worlds are hosted by a player, so it depends on the host's net connection. Even then it's pretty laggy at times, since it's transferring everything you do between all the computers, including things you upload or other people upload. Very likely won't scale to even vrchat levels of participants as it is currently, plus it won't work for 4chan meetups for other reasons, as I'll document later. But, still a very cool multiplayer unity editor.

Yeah I need to put some time in each week to train myself up. Turning is fine, moving with a stick is fine. Just turning AND moving at the same time I can't seem to handle.
I recover pretty fast now though. I'm already not too bad now that I've had a cold drink and a quick rest. I could probably jump back into VR now and play for another hour if I didn't need to wake up early tomorrow.
I can handle quick speed games like Eagle Flight and Sprint Vector (though Sprint Vector's compensation implementation is amazing. Shame I don't own it on PC but PS4).

You can walk around and play with stuff immediately, without an account signup. You inherit your default steam username above your head. You can register an account in order to add friends, but annoyingly only in an in-game menu, and you have to verify your email. You can search for people by name to add, and join/invite them like in vrchat. Add me if you want, my name is in all the videos.

By default worlds are public, but you can change them to invite only, friends only, registered users only, or even LAN only (connect by IP address). The portal system is interesting. You make a little portal bubble, then take it with you as you world hop and drop it somewhere for people to click.

As LAN hosting implies, you actually host the room, so preferably have somebody with good upload speed host. The game bogs down at like 6 people unfortunately, with big lag spikes (you can hear the audio repeat in my videos). Also the game leaks memory like a sieve. I was playing for ~5 hours and just before I logged out it was using about 8GB of RAM. Probably big undo trees, and the fact that you're "in" a bunch of worlds at the same time and can switch between them really quickly.

I've been wanting to try VR for a long time now. Suddenly, the Lenovo MR became available for about 220 USD here, which is the cheapest any VR headset has been in my country ever (the HP MR is currently about 450 USD, for comparison).
I would pounce at this opportunity, if it hadn't been for the IPD issue. I have a huge 70mm IPD, and I see people reporting blurriness and shit due to high IPDs on the Lenovo.
I saw some people using hacky solutions, such as swapping the cushioning on the front and back to bring eyes closer to the lenses, or tricking the digital IPD adjustment to go higher than the official max value of 67.
Do any of you have experience with this or similar issues?

Apparently 2 evenings and a third veeery long evening is not quite long enough to put out a (scuffed) map. Need a little more time for bugs to be fixed and hopefully a theater prefab installed.

You can mess with the cushions to gain a bit more field of view and sweet spot, but I don't think it'll have any real impact on your IPD.
The software IPD does a decent job, but the further from the actual hardware IPD you go, the smaller your sweet spot gets.

dynamic bones are a performance hog anyway, but if you want there's a download linked in one of the OP pastebins to "demo" it. The muscle animation editor is unnecessary, just makes editing animations (e.g. for gesture overrides) a little easier, but it's no more powerful than base unity. And it's also in the pastebin.

Can you scale your individual body parts in unity? I don't want to be loli height and I don't want a massive scaled up head with the rest of my body.
