Rhy's Cubed+MMD edit can achieve this. You can set a mask for the material's emission, and that mask can have a scrolling motion given to it. So, by making a mask that is a simple black-white-black gradient, and then scaling the mask big enough, you will get a pulsing off-on-off effect.

If you only want certain sections to have the pulse, it gets a bit more complicated. You could separate the materials for the parts with pulsing emissions, but if you're comfortable with making a specific atlas arrangement you can do it with one material.

I'm trying to make a glass container in blender with some fluid in it but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to be transparent. I thought I'd be able to flip the normals of the glass section so the texture would be on the far side of the bottle behind the fluid but that doesn't seem to work. Should I just say fuck it and make it a new material and use the unity standard shader to make it translucent?

So now that it's in unity and looking as it should, I'm looking at making it pulse with emissions but I want it to do two rapid pulses followed by a short delay, like a heart beat. Any idea how to get that to happen? I've tried making it blink twice as often as the emission scroll happens with the idea that it would flash twice in the dim state and twice in the bright state, making it look like it flashed twice and then waited but it doesn't work terribly well and I can't seem to get the timing just right either.

I had the same alpha transparency problem on another map before, I think placeholder's tv thing. You can fix your screenshots in post just by removing the alpha channel from the image entirely.

You can fix your own model for future screenshots by creating a fresh new material in unity (right click explorer), changing the shader to your preferred shader, copying settings/textures/etc, then applying to your body mesh and reuploading. Somehow the material created on fbx import has that wack alpha channel.

All it's doing is setting the culling mask of the camera that's used to generate the reflection. That being said, there's no good documentation on the vrchat-specific layers that it sets up on SDK import. It's best to just make a bunch of mirrors with different settings and see for yourself. I have found that turning off Ui and UiMenu turns off nameplates and menus/laser beams in the mirror, which IMO increases realism.

I'm using a 360 kinect and driver4vr for FBT because I can't justify spending 300 bucks on trackers, but it's wonky as fuck. My models are jank and snap around whenever I move, I can't lower my arms beneath my waist, generally my head is higher than my head in game.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Did you use the FBT fix in CATS on your model? Also check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqUVFuSD5a4 for some tips on how to calibrate. It also covers modifying your model in blender to fit your IRL proportions, but I find just adjusting system height to match your arms and using playspace mover to fix your height is 80% good enough. If you're an anime girl, you'll be on stilts in game, but you won't notice most of the time.

thats just the price to pay with a 360 kinect.

FBT with kinect is janky. and you cant really move around freely. it basically only works if you stand in place and face it directly. it's jank because there's nothing on you to actually track, it's just tracking your body shape.

And the 360 kinect is extra jank because it's just not as good. Xbone kinect is better but that requires windows 10, and either buying a ripoff pc adapter, or, splicing it yourself.

alternatively, there is a way to do cheaper tracking with the kinect akin to cuckpucks. it involves either eld's or ps move controllers. you set the kinect to color tracking, and strap that shit to yourself in place of trackers, and that seems to work fairly well. i dont know about that though myself.

Just use automatic or envelope weights in blender, or assign parts of the mesh manually to vertex groups, weight at 1.0. You have to place the bones yourself, but that's easy. There's also https://blendermarket.com/products/voxel-heat-diffuse-skinning you can buy, but for rigid-body robot parts, you don't really have to worry about any fancy weight painting and deforming.

So initial thoughts here. It's immediately and painfully obvious that this was made by second life shitters. I have not tried any of the second life derived "metaverses" before today and I'm not terribly impressed especially not after this has been shilled so much in the VR newsphere.
Immediately upon booting this up it becomes apparent that VR is not the leading lady of the program as you have to enable it through the desktop client program after joining a particular world which is not immediately obvious. The VR part does work after finagling with the destkop client but, everything appears somewhat blurry for unknown reasons and I have not been able to resolve this yet. There are no other movement option on this and likewise no VR settings, comfort or otherwise that can be tweaked. Movement is painfully slow and is slide + smooth turn only. To their credit the worlds are neat though but there's an eerie number of them for how dead it is.


As far as joining if you feel the great desire to suffer with me you can add sirvogizmo through the chat menu. That said, I will slog through Sansar and review this mess so you don't have to.

We didn't have space warp but did have the interpolation based off headset rotation. It's very obvious when this is active during active motion as the world will jump and stutter oddly. In especially crowded rooms things are almost sickening.

It's a little confusing getting started. Make sure you have your steam VR or Oculus what not active before you load the program up. It'll take about 10 minutes to update on first boot up. Then you need to join a world then activate the VR setting in the side menu shown in that picture to get into VR.

Latency doesn't work normally in Pavlov. The other day I joined an NA server (~200 ping) and couldn't kill anything, retried on EU (~50 ping) and it was the same. Restarted the game and suddenly I could do damage on NA. Sometimes it feels as responsive as a single player game, other times there's multiple second delays on everything.
