I'll agree that there are other things that can be used as the OP, but I'm hardly offended by it, it's not some great travesty. At the end of the day, hour for hour and player for player, VRC probably blows every other VR game out of the water

I’m a consolefag so all I have is PSVR, but I always get tracking issues (drift of course, but “outside of play area” messages too, and sometimes the image starts wobbling like the bass dropped and it makes me want to puke.
I think I’m too tall for where the camera is on my TV. Has anyone tried mounting the camera higher up? Does that work?

I was pretty skeptical because the other game they made recently, Stand Out, was dogshit but so far this one has been pretty alright. Definitely needs work in some areas, but the core gameplay is definitely there and it's pretty satisfying when you get into room to room fighting or doing tank shit. It's even more casual than Pavlov, which can be a bonus or a con depending on what you're looking for, though.

Not really, bots fill in empty team slots and their AI isn't too terrible(Except in tanks). I've been domed in the head by them enough times to at least respect them as a legitimate threat when I'm on foot. I haven't had trouble getting a full or almost-full server so far, but then again it's launch night.

You can set up private bot matches if you want, or even just an empty server

I don't think <directional indicator> is the only one to feel such a way, but most won't publicly condemn themselves. It is inevitable that the most social people are going to dictate the course of the group; avoiding that requires everyone repeatedly rejecting chances to gain status at their own expense, which won't happen. It is against human nature and why Discord succeeded at the expense of anything who tried to avoid it. It is probably best to split the group into people who want an experience that includes meeting in real life, and those that don't. The alternative is everyone but the most inner circle leaving because they can no longer be involved in anything relevant. I don't think acting like nothing is wrong is going to end well.

We watched Shaun of the Dead! Great movie, although I've already seen it more times than I can count.
It was interesting to watch with subtitles though, I caught a lot of the random reports and stuff about the illness in the beginning of the movie that were normally just background noise. It's a very well done movie.

It depends on what you're looking for and what you have available IRL. If you have a decent sized screen at home in a dark room, you're gonna hate the SDE and the heavy headset on your face in comparison. If you don't though, it's pretty awesome to put on the headset and walk into an IMAX. Just don't let your eyes focus on the pixels. The simulated screen emissions in bigscreen are really nice too, like those ambilight things for IRL screens.

I think you do have to suspend your disbelief for the SDE effect though. It's fine for most videos, but it gets bad when there's text on the screen, e.g. subtitles. Sometimes I have to move my head back and forth a little bit to manually supersample the pixels Oh and on the rift at least the fresnel godrays are kind of annoying, as is the OLED mura on dark scenes. But those are just little things, overall it's pretty nice.

If you're purely looking to watch movies and stuff, I've heard the oculus go actually has a gen 1.3ish screen and optics technology on it, better than current vive/rift. Or samsung odyssey WMR, which has the vive pro screen but isn't a ripoff.

Anyone using Dash 2.0 - I have this problem which basically makes me unable to use the desktop view in Dash. After a few seconds of using it, the desktop window will disappear and be replaced with this (which tells me that VRChat/ SteamVR is currently running). I can move this window physically to the side, which will also make the desktop window reappear, but a few seconds later, the desktop window will again disappear and this window sit in its place.

There's the new "Safety" settings in upper right corner of user controls.

Players now have "trust" ranks.
You can block everything on new users; naive players that don't know better or ban evaders on new accounts because they crashed someone before or used downright malicious custom animations, in your friend's case: flashbang animations.
You can also blocks shaders and custom animations just in case some players do have blinding shaders or animations.

Just examine the new Safety feature.

FBX export usually works, sometimes the paths for the texture files fucks up though. You'll at least get the UVs though so it's not that much work setting up the materials in unity again.

Might have better luck with collada, it's more officially supported by blender.

Yes. Depending on how fancy you want it, you can just play clips with the VRC_AudioBank. If you have a lot though it's annoying to have to load them in the map, so you're better off finding/uploading the music to youtube and using the VRC_SyncVideoPlayer, and hide the screen somewhere. It kinda sucks, but at least it works.

I've been trying to figure out an ffmpeg incantation to pack an audio file into an .mp4 file so it'll play, for convenient custom music hosting. Might even be able to "stream" music by hiding it in a dynamically generated .mp4 stream. I'll post results if I figure it out
