I'm guessing it's because the controller angle is wrong in any game made for Vive, which usually does nothing but make menus feel off, but it makes scoring highly practically impossible in Beat Saber because you need to add something like 30 degrees to the start of an upswing. You could fix it with input emulator.

I also have a Rift and I'm getting pretty high in Beat Saber. I've used my buddy's Vive though.
I like the Rift in every way more than the Vive and don't notice the tracking improvements in anything except the tippest of toppest Beat Saber maps. If you're swinging at 1,000,000 beats a second trying to S rank Osu!Memories or whatever then sometimes the tracking will fuck up. Notably on TTFAF I used to have a problem with my sabers desyncing part way into the song for a second or two because the rate you need to swing and break momentum fucks with the tracking. I've also heard it's an issue with the batteries being shaken slightly out of their socket.

If you're playing any other game I say Rift is the superior headset because it's more comfortable, at least for my giant freak skull, the controllers are controllers instead of Gaben's autistic scroll pad bullshit, and you can play the Oculus store exclusives without needing ReVive Which is stupid to even mention since it takes 5 seconds to install but people consider "set up" a factor in purchase even though both are nearly instant and brain dead so there you go

I think there is some problem with beatsaber and rift tracking, because I keep getting cucked on what I think are good swings seemingly at random. That being said, the batteries are in there tighter than you think and it's not that. I thought the same thing and tried this hack

But it actually made the batteries worse. It's very noticeable when the controller loses power too, the saber just freezes in an upright position. So if you're having that problem might try the battery thing, otherwise it's probably something else.

You literally get knuckles today (touch), vive pucks, AND better warranty support from going with the rift.

You can pay up front now for rift, or pay the same or more for vive later.

The interference between the pucks and the touch controllers is highly annoying, I will say that. If laying down in FBT in VRChat is your endgame, then vive is a pretty attractive. If you see yourself playing other VR games though, the touch controllers are just so nice. I can't imagine dealing with a touchpad for most games.

Not really true. Knuckles will have 5 finger tracking, and both touchpad and analog.

It's more hassle and has some drawbacks that cannot be solved. My pucks always jump to a new position after a while, and then stay there. Sometimes it's so small that it doesn't matter, other times it will be a few inches and it needs re-calibrating. Everyone seems to have different random problems with it of varying severity.

I will probably buy a Vive pro and knuckles, if they ever come out, because my Rift headset is getting pretty broken at this point and I can't be bothered with trying to get it fixed.

I put an animator on my body with a blink animation but I can't figure out how to toggle it off during gestures. Pls respond

Highlight the blink variable, uncheck all its sub-boxes, drag it into the gestures window and hook it into a gesture so you can toggle it that way. Then go to the overlap window and make sure it's above the gesture box in priorities.

Look for the box that says blink that you made the blink happen with. Click it so all the little boxes come down. Uncheck those. Drag it into the thing that says gestures. Enable them all with more checks and clicks. Go to overlap and and drag the blink box higher in the list than anything else you don't care about as much as blinking.

That is the lighthouse position. Rift sensors are one at the back at ~6 foot, one cable tied to the top of a lighthouse, the other on top of the door frame. Only one corner has both a lighthouse and sensor on it.

Too much time/effort. They shouldn't ever fly away. It should maybe drift slightly then vanish if you occlude it and should come back immediately. The flying away and not returning was a problem with input emulator, which you shouldn't be using any more.

Another odd problem of the rift+trackers setup I haven't been able to solve: If all the pucks lose tracking for some reason, either occlusion, or you turn them off or they lose batteries, then the entire playspace drops a few meters into the ground, and there's nothing you can do to change it. the playspace mover (in advanced settings) stops working. Judging by the grid, it looks like it reset so my HMD was at (0,0,0), but maybe just a coincidence since I was standing close by. Playspace gets restored as soon as the tracker comes back.

I experience this too. I discovered that for some reason, the playspace mover interferes with the calibrator when this happens. Close it, recalibrate, then reopen it.
I also just take my VR slippers off when I walk off to get a beer, so two trackers stay in the playspace with my HMD.
I wish the trackers and HMD wouldn't get positional drift relative to each other, though. Seems like I have to recalibrate them at least every couple of hours. Losing and regaining tracking on the HMD seems to have the most impact on that.

Oculus and Vive will always interfere with each other, just because Vive relies on IR photodiodes being swept by an IR laser for tracking, while Oculus relies on IR LED constellations being watched by cameras for tracking.
Putting things bristling with IR LEDs next to Vive trackers will inevitably mess with their ability to recognize the laser sweep, because it gets drowned out by the IR LEDs.
2.0 trackers might be a little bit more resilient to interference, but in principle, it's still an issue.

i recently got into vr with a rift i tryed the vive but got a rift cause it was cheaper
and noticed how the rift was actuly a bit better apart from the FOV
i also noticed how the rift controllers felt and worked much better

well I don't have much issues with grip since my palms don't sweat, but I think the amazon link you posted would work well enough. But for protection, you aren't really gonna find much. Those rings are how the controllers get tracked, even a transparent cover would introduce issues so its basically be careful and turn on the walls so you don't step to far out of bounds and whack something.

Does anyone have the list of stats for each gun in pavlov? I remember someone made one with their armour penetration and such. Want to check if my gunfu, UMP45-chan, is worth the money or if the baby AK is better. I don't want to gimp myself for aesthetics and the costs are about the same. Can't help you with VRchat. With Beat Saber they slipped even for me. I realized that none of the buttons actually do anything in Beat Saber so you can just grip it as hard as you can even if the trigger/grip get pulled down. My standard grip is having them compressed now. If you weren't already doing that then that'll probably fix it.

Baby AK (AK74SU)and UMP both take the helmet off at close range and deal 50% headshot damage when it hits a helmet.

AK74 does more damage thru armor and penetrates wood, UMP does more base damage and can slow the enemy down(tagging).

little bit of both. lots of pumping but there's flow points. you have to punch on beat and there's lots of weird alternating but the flow bits involve some pretty rapid movements even on hard.
pro mode was instafail the first time i tried, the game is sufficiently hard. The moves follow the mocapped actors.

Yes, it's all about the phat swings and chaining them together. I think as long as the beatmap accounts for this properly it feels right though. More a graceful cutting game, not an autistic flailing game. The official expert level beatmaps are good at this, while a large number of custom beatmaps feel bad, especially if you turn on the "Score hit visualizer" mod in the mod installer, which gives you the usual red/orange/green/white hit scores instead just a tiny number.

todokete makes good feeling beatmaps, where you can get 100+s on most swings. Freeek's later beatmaps are good too, his earlier stuff is a mixed bag. the imagine dragons songs beatmaps feel nice, as do most of the caravan palace ones. despacito has a surprisingly fun beatmap. Avoid weeb vocaloid nightcore edmshit stuff. I bet those beatmappers come from osu and think they can just translate that autistic flailing into VR. Is vrchat dead?

Some people were asking for an update to the interplayer dynamic bones mod so I decided to update it myself. It's the whole mod framework stuff but I doubt it will be used for anything else.

B key toggles interplayer dynamic bones, D key disables every dynamic bone. VRChat's window need to be the active one while pressing the key. There is a bug where you need to retoggle interplayer dynamic bones to collide with changed avatars or players that joined later. I'll see if I can fix that.
All credits go to the original Programmer-kun, I only took his previous dll and copypasted the framework stuff to an updated version of VRChat's dll.

If you don't trust me (something perfectly fine), you can do it yourself by downloading the latest version of the mod framework by the original programmer-kun and editing the original Assembly-Csharp.dll with dnSpy https://github.com/0xd4d/dnSpy

to three methods in the Analytics class. Check the modified dll with dnSpy to see where.

I think this is relatively easy to do on your own. Separate panty mesh in blender, add a really basic armature to it weighting parts you want to grab, (eg. band left and band right), then in unity, fix-joint the two parts of the panty armature to your hands, activated on gesture. Then add a cloth component to the panties, and set the max deformation constraint to 0 where you want to grab it so the armature will override the cloth simulation on those parts of the mesh. Add IsTrigger sphere or capsule colliders to hands/legs/head. Then spend hours tweaking the constants in the cloth component until it looks and feels right. Wala.

Maybe instead of an armature/fixed joint it's some sticky collider trickery to get to attach to the hands like the dynamic bones skirt flipping. I'm not sure.

This is a big reason I don't really play Onward anymore. Assign the non-moving vertices to the vertex group of the bone you want to control them. The playermods thing has a player speed setting, just like jump height. There's also that jetpack prefab you've probably seen in various worlds.
