I really, really enjoy using TTS, despite having a microphone and not being self-conscious about my voice (though I am very shy).

But TTS is fun. It feels a bit like a minigame, a puzzle to to be solved under time pressure, in order to make the TTS say what you mean in the best possible way.
Figuring out that you need to write "souhghoy" to say "sugoi", that you can construct a "desu" with the phonemes "d eh s uh" by using the major stress command on the "uh", avoiding the quirks of normal words, timing the pauses down to hundreds of milliseconds, everything in an as short time as possible so that the interlocutors don't move on from the topic, and looking for a pause in the conversation so that you don't interrupt someone, that's actually fun to me.
Heck, because I enjoy it so much, I made an entire collection of vocalized shitposts from the thread like this:

TTS can also be more laid back. By being forced to write down what you want to say, you automatically gather your thoughts. I also enjoy a little bit of soundboarding, which is easy to include directly in the text.
Lastly, there are many TTS voices that I just really like hearing, be it because they're adorable like Freddy's or funny like Paxx'. Even mistyping can end up being really amusing to me, as is making the TTS say weird things.

Of course, if any of that fails, it can also be incredibly frustrating. Especially if no one else is there, it's frustrating to the interlocutor, who has to wait for you, unless you're a fast typer, which I'm not. That's why I make the compromise to use my microphone when there's only 2-3 people in total present, and TTS for bigger groups. That's part of the reason why my microphone is always on and you can hear me typing.

If you primarily want to use blender for vrchat stuff, then start importing characters, doing clothing frankensteins, proportional editing, simple props, looking up tutorials for anything specific along the way. Will be a lot more motivating than a random donut tutorial which will cover a lot of stuff you don't care about like the cycles renderer.

There are some other "game asset"-geared tutorials out there too though if you want more hand-holding. cgcookie is apparently good, though expensive unless you get them on cg peers.

I don't know why this doesn't affect more people, but I could not breathe at all without it being deflected into the headset through the fabric, hitting the mic, and sounding like gale force winds. I confirmed that is what is happening by sticking a post-it note to my nose to ensure all breath is deflected way down and it stopped happening. From the amount of work that has been done on various things, it has proven to help anons with their workload and motivation. One thing that needs to be practiced is self care. Turns out anons would rather sit down for hours grinding work out, and forget they need to eat and drink. We need to set up some breaks or some shit. Work is great, but your body needs hydration and maintenance to work the best. That in mind the Koikatsu code has almost been refined to tutorial levels, just need to get faster at it. If any anons have suggestions for lessons or things they would like to have taught we can work out a strawpoll or something for what to teach.

As usual, the workshop is just study time, come and work on shit you want to work on. Dm Dal if you have scheduling conflict shit, have bants you want to exchange, or just general suggestions for this kind of shit.
