Making the jump to VR soon and I'm having trouble picking a headset between the Index and a Vive. Vive's wireless functionality would be really fucking nice because I don't want to go tripping on the fucking wire and falling out of my window.

It's really hard to recommend getting a Vive these days unless you can find one super cheap. Having a wireless adapter is really the only thing it has going for it.
I'd personally rather have the extra clarity of the Index or even a Rift S over the Vive's wireless since you get used to the cable pretty quickly.

I was looking at a Pro or a Cosmos.

Is the cable really that easy to get used to? If so for the price of the Vive and the accessories I was looking at I could probably just get an Index because the wireless adapter is 300 and that pushes pretty much all the headsets very close to the price point of the Index, also I don't see much point in the knuckle controllers unless their functionality extends very well to shooters (if it feels more like actually handling things, I might be very wrong)

I've had a couple bad experiences in regards to the idea of using someone else's body with my avatar's head and I feel like I must have a totally different viewpoint on it to everyone else, or something. If someone were to take one of my avatars and make another transformative avatar using it, I would feel kinda honored, and appreciative that they like me enough to spent the time to make something for/ from my avatar.

However, it seems other people feel the opposite and would be angry/ upset at this. I could have easily done something that would have had the opposite effect of what I intended. Am I weird or have I gotten unlucky? I had a bad experience related to the concept of faux-impersonation when I was still in school, which lends further credence to the idea that I'm the exception with the vastly different viewpoint on this to everyone else.
